Oh' If that were only so, if that were only so. Can you imagine the swagger as he destroyed the evil Iranian Bird of Prey." You Iranian Scum, You've killed my son."

Then he swaggers on down to the planet and slaps around Achminejaad (played by Christopher Loyd on his knee's in a really bad ridged headpiece).

"Maltz! Cho E Choooooo!" saving himself at the last possible minute as the Nuclear Power plat at Natanz goes kablooooeeee.:thumbsup:

Then we could watch as he waxed philosophic for the closing scene and tells Commander Sulu to go full ahead, "Somewhere out there.":thumbsup::emot-hug::24:

Yes, I have watched way too much Star Trek. :b:

Peace,

Dave

:24::24::24::24:

Yeah - Capt. Kirk and Capt. Piccard could solve all the world's problems, couldn't they? :P

Somehow "Jesus" and "bombing" aren't the first words I would think to put side by side.

No they shouldn't.

But no one is advocating "bombing in the name of Jesus." This is a national issue, not a religious one - well, at least for us anyway.

The Lord does give the government the power of the sword to protect its citizens.

3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth.

6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart,

for they will see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called sons of God.

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

That is your humanistic interpretation of scripture. I see nothing in there regarding warring nations. I see only how individuals are described.

Our government is of the people. Our foreign policy collectively reflects our individual personal values. Therefore, if we are a nation of peacemakers, then we would be a nation of peace.

It is pretty much that simple.

Grace to you,

Peace only comes to this world when all of Gods enemies have finally been placed under His feet. This would require the aggressive use of force.

Peace comes to the victor not the compromiser. The Lord Jesus Christ does not mince words with His enemies. He offers them Grace. If they remain His enemies, they will be dealt with.

Peace,

Dave

Regardless of how you spin it, the life of Jesus was the greatest example of non-violence in the face of injustice in human history. War at times is unavoidable, but Jesus was not pro-war, and certainly not pro-preemptive war.

That said, I am not saying that military action against Iran at some point will not be unavoidable. I am saying that Jesus wants us to live in peace, and that recognizing that because of the nature of man there will always be war is not the same as being pro-war.

Grace to you,

I couldn't disagree with you more. Jesus whole life was confrontational. His life was violent and His death was the most vivid example of violence ever committed. He literally went to War for your soul. :24:

Mt 11:12

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

The non-violence is not that at all. It is Humility and if you mistake it for weakness you make a dire miscalculation.

Peace,

Dave

I am sorry, but frankly you
