I'm not sure about the Greek rendition of the word for "Holy Spirit", but the Hebrew version carries with it a maternal connotation. I'm not sure if it was a Jewish friend who told me, or my pastor, but they are both reliable sources of info, I think. It would make sense if our Trinity also had the familial relationship of Father/Mother/Son. probably make more sense than Father/Son/errr.... yeah, the other guy.
