The blessing from Moses and Jacob are not much different. Joshua or Jehoshua means savior. so I do see what you are saying. Jesus coming from Judahs line , joseph being His earthly Dad. another of Josephs. Look at Gen 49:10 and Luke 3:33. Jesus is the fulillement of the prophecy to Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Genesis 12: 3 and the gen 17:

Genesis 29:31,32

" And when the Lord saw that leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. And Leah concieved, and bare a son and she called his name Reuben: for she said
, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will Love me"
Reuben means in the Hebre, A son....A new beginning

Two words are used raah meaning to make to enjoy; to present ben anointed one a son ( to keep family buiding)

First what I say is always opened to correction as well as further learning to anyone who has anything to share. I will take it slow.

The symbol of this tribe is the sun or blossoming...a new beginning as the sun is the beginning of a new day The breast balate stone sardius. odem in hebrew

When I was going through the tribes in the mid 80's I noticed enough familiar themes in regards to certain aspects of my walk with the Lord Jesus.

Reuben signified to me Salvation and a new beginning in Christ Jesus that I obtained from Through the cross, Happy in that joyous love affair with Jesus.

I had many afflictions to my heart that my soul was in constant pain and fear. But prior to Salvation I tried to distract myself by things in hopes I would find love somewhere. Similar to Leah...Hopeing that reuben would make Jacob love her more which was a false hope.
I heard a song the other day and it was saying " Unbreak my heart!"
This also was a form of manipulation which does not work.
How many woman out there will sometimes use tears, sex appeal to reach a man. as well in our early walk with God we to may have thoughts not yet washed my the word of God and are too young to know God cannot be manipulated .
Well this is the beginning.... I also think that leah was gloating a bit to make Rachel angry and Jealous. How many of us get envious and jealous over what another has. Reuben was that bless Leash needed. I do not know about anything else but to hold a baby and to look into their eye one can forget the cares of the worl.
