Here's what I defend. It's politically INCORRECT and unpopular. The Jews hated the message because they hated the Romans. People here hate it because they hate the Arabs.

Jesus taught us another way and if we follow HIS ways, God Himself would protect us and hedge us about.

Luke 6:27-36

27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. 29 To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.

Jesus didn't say, if your enemy poses a threat, strip him naked and humiliate him in pornographic poses.

I love my country and would defend her to the death...but I would never lower myself to this level.

Just because a few of the prisoners (about half; the other half were released because they were in for minor offenses)...were guilty of attacking our soldiers,

now we can excuse stripping men down, exposing them in a disgusting way and say, "Oh well...it's okay. They behead people."

Well, I guess if they rape women and molest little children we should join them and do what they do?

What is wrong with everyone? Are we to BE LIKE THEM? Hello?

Good grief. Are we Christians or are we just like the world?

Did everyone forget what JESUS HIMSELF just taught us ...read above...okay?

Our religion of peace, Islam, just sawed off the head of an innocent American. They used four or five knife strokes to accomplish this. He screamed in unimaginable ways. WATCH IT!!! LISTEN TO IT!!!

I hear a lot of people who seem to think by using the "self-defense" argument we are able to justify acts which caused the destruction of sodom.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of those prisoners were sodomized, either.

I wonder how anyone who says they trust God to deliver them from evil could justify getting in God's face and saying, "You just bless us, God. We'll handle the treatment of prisoners OUR WAY...afterall, they're just scumbag terrorists and we need to degrade them all."

I wonder if God would approve of the way the prisoners were treated?

I wonder if anyone has actually gotten into the Holy Bible and read what God taught us about how to treat other people.

Now I understand why God will turn His face away and refuse those who cry, "Save us, save us..."

When He revealed to them His righteous ways, they blew Him off and said, "We'll do it our way..."

And if "our way" means stripping prisoners naked and exposing them in horribly degrading positions, fine.

You know...I don't know about you guys...but I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy...and I WOULD rather die than to pretend I honor God with my lips but blow off His direct orders and commands!

God sent His Holy Son to show us exactly how to handle problems. He sent Jesus when the Romans occupied Israel and did Jesus say, "Let's make those Romans pay! Afterall, look what they did to our brothers!"

NO!

Jesus made enemies, (as I'm sure I will) because He said what isn't politically correct....LOVE your enemies.

Then, just to really blow your mind, he healed a Centurion's servant.

Personally, I'm writing in my vote this year. I'm voting for Jesus Christ for president.

He rules and reigns in MY life and I want HIM to make the rules that govern this land.

My vote is for Jesus. Ya'll can vote for whoever you want. I know who's truly qualified to run this country and I'm sticking with Him...from Genesis to Revelation.

God has spoken many times about how one nation treats another in war. Again...we have no idea who those prisoners were, who ordered this (or allowed it) or any of the details of what we were trying to do. Was it sadistic fun or actual intelligence gathering?

After listening to you for a week, I've changed my mind about how horrible it was.

shall we stop with the humiliation and start with painful torture to get information from these people? Do you think making them watch an episode of "Friends" would do it?

If we leave it up to the new Iraqi government it would be much worse on those prisoners, I'm sure....

Don't confuse the responsibility of a government to protect it's people with our individual responsibility as christians and there is no contradiction here.

We are subject to the temptation of evil on both sides of this war. What has been done by our soldiers "appears" to be evil, yes, but we are a nation who is going to find out who did the evil and punish them.

Keep that perspective.

As we all know, the happenings in the middle east is spiritual. Always has been, always will be. Does man think that he can solve it with his intellect? With his military might? Look, brothers and sisters, we are all of us involved in this spiritual war. Do not let it take its' toll on us, on our relationships with each other. Is this not the enemy that causes strife and contention? C'mon guys. (and gals) We can discuss and analyze, but we do need to draw the line somewhere when we have differing opinions with each other. Right? Sometimes, we need to take a breath and change the subject. walk away. pray. calm down.

I saw the still photos and it was totally gruesome. I don't believe all Muslims go along with the acts of AlQuaida anymore than some of us go along with the acts of a few American prison guards. Both sides are making excuses I see. I think River has gotten to the heart of things here. Satan has gotten into some folks. I also think satan is behind keeping both sides "whipped up" so that we'll continue fighting.

I think one of satan's most powerful weapons again humanity is religion zealots, both muslim and christian. What we see "them" do is unfortunately something I could see religous zealots in this country doing, AND saying God is Powerful and wants it. Someone mentioned the OT. If you recall David cut off the head of Goliath. I think a lot of people in this country would like to think God is on our side. How could He be? The muslims kill each other in horrific ways but we've allowed 30-40 million of our own babies to be slaughtered in abortion clinics. That's pretty darn gruesome too. If I recall correctly God also allowed Israel to be destroyed by a country that was more evil.

And don't forget. Our government "went to bed" with these terrorists in the late 1970s and trained a lot of them. They also got the information on building nuclear weapons from us. We shot ourselves in the foot a long time ago.

I think we need to become isolationists again and sincerely turn our faces to God. That's the only "out" I see in this situation.

I wonder just how many people have been killed in the name of God over the years.
