But that the descriptions have deeper significance through symbolism.

I think if we focus on the size in our measurements instead of the symbolic number in the original text, we lose a great deal of the meaning meant for us in the passage. With a blessing, Leonard, a sinner Leonard - So what does that mean to you then? God-man - Scripture and verse?

Rev. 1:1 "The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave to Him to show to His slaves the things that must quickly take place; and He made it known by signs, sending it by His angel to His slave John." Rev. 12:1, 3 "And a great sign was seen in heaven..." "And another sign was seen in heaven..." Rev. 15:1 "And I saw another sign in heaven..." John also uses metaphors to describe the New Jerusalem that show us that it is not a literal city.

The Church is the Bride of Christ, right? Yet the angel tells John that the New Jerusalem is the Bride of Christ. Rev. 21:9, 10 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, What does that tell you?
