The Middle East. Islam`s Prophet and the Ottoman Empire.

Islam`s Prophet.

The Roman Empire ended in the 5th century AD due to invasions by northern tribes. It then became divided into the Western and Eastern Roman Empire. It was from this region in the Middle East that Satan influenced a man called Muhammed.

Muhammed, an Arab, believed he received revelations from God and declared himself a prophet of God. He taught that God was one and that he was the last of the prophets of God from – Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets.

Over time he gathered many converts into a great army. By the time he died most of the Arabian Peninsular had converted to Muhammed`s teachings - Islam.

Islam means – submission to God (His will). The concept encompasses 'Safeness and Peace'. The term Muslim refers to an individual who follows the religion of Islam.

Under Satan`s influence this teaching appealed to many as it made `works` by man the admission to heaven. It was a corruption of Old Testament and Christian writings. Islam views Jesus as a man and prophet, not as God's Son or a deity.

Thus, Satan appeals to man`s pride of self-effort, but negating the work of Christ Jesus on the cross, the very heart of the gospel and salvation for mankind.

Islam taught that they would rule the nations of the world. God however, had given His people Israel this responsibility. This sets the stage for a major conflict.

The Ottoman Empire

Islam spread rapidly, creating a new Arab identity in the region. Several groups tried to govern the Eastern Roman Empire, but the Ottomans eventually came to control the entire region and beyond.

The Ottomans were pastoralists who lived in Anatolia, Asia Minor, (present day Turkey). They regarded themselves as warriors who fought to expand and protect their borders. Overtime they came under the influence of Islam.

The Ottoman Empire lasted for many centuries till the modern era.

Ishmael lived a good long life and he died.  I haven't read he was actually related to Mohammad

He did know the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jakob, however the peoples who made up the public at the time when Mohammad lived had done the same as Israel and had gone over to many false gods. It is my understanding from a lot of reading that a demonic being came to Mohammad one day and gave him the first information to start Islam.   He thought it was a demon and it scared him, but his wife talked him into believing it was Michael the Arc Angel and it went from there. According to Islamic teachings the being returned to him many times after that.

thanks other one i was curious because Mohammad in my mind, in order to be legit would need to be in the blood line to Ishmael just as the blood line of Abraham is as clear as crystal no question there...

so that makes me wonder who was Mohammad. what was his blood line?

The Islam Imams will tell us that he was descended from Ishmael, but I haven't seen any real proof of that like we have with Jesus.  Actually there is a lot about Islam that doesn't really follow written history in general.   But I guess it's what the Muslims believe that counts in the end.

Yup…and at the core is “convert or die”.
