  1. Everyone rises on the Last Day. The righteous come forth either from the New Jerusalem (in Heaven) and get reunited with their bodies from the grave (sleep) or they get changed while still in their earthly bodies (they were still living). The wicked come back from the grave (hell for them). Any living unbeliever is burned to a crispy crackly crunch at the Second Coming, then brought back to life after the Church is rewarded. These things happen quickly apparently. I find it interesting that while Christians are spoken of as resurrected (Anastasia), the 'rest of the dead' are only spoken of as coming to life (anazao, a better state than they had) and they are cast into the lake of fire after Satan. It may be that the wicked dead get no resurrected, glorified body, but merely an Adamic body. This body would burn up upon entry into the Lake of Fire (at least I would think it would), leaving only the spirit/soul to suffer the indignity of the Lake of Fire. Regardless of what occurs, it all happens on the Last Day and not before. Anyone who says otherwise calls Jesus a liar.
  2. Yacov, mo ach... The rapture will happen on the Last Day. It is part of the resurrection. The tribulation is long past. The LORD chastised Israel double for her sins then. Now he is interested in restoring the remnant of Israel, of which you as a believing Jew are a part. There is no Jew or Gentile in Moschiach, we are all one. Israel's remnant will be brought back into the tree. There is no planning for the Last Day, we have no idea when it is. We can see disaster coming though and plan accordingly, as Joseph did.
  3. Honestly sis, it is best to look it up yourself. I was just looking at a few post under the article, and there was some that said the Emerging Church is being mixed up with the Emergent Church. I guess like Christians may get lumped with those who protest funerals. Most often many people have no idea what they are talking about. They speak off of hearsay, without any actual evidence. Sadly, this is what it is becomeing. You want to know why apostosy happens? It is because love grows cold. Eyes are taken off of Christ, and set on men. We forget our tounges are our most dangerous weapons, and speak with graceless, unsalted words. Sis, your questions are not silly, but be careful. Some of the information that you may recieve may be from those you have placed themselves in Christ seat. Apostasy happens when the Church departs from the faith once delivered unto the saints and begins to embrace the teachings of the culture around it. We have become a land of unwalled villages and soon we will pay for it.
  4. What do you expect from Barack HUSSEIN Obama? His Islamic roots go deeper than he'd like to admit.
  5. Welcome to the war of Gog and Magog. Paganism. Socialism. Both antagonistic to Christianity. They will nearly over come us before Christ returns.
  6. .....or the kind of violence happening in Paris this week where people are revolting against the sacrifices they have to make because of the greed or mistakes someone in a suit made. As it was in the days of Noah... FYI, labor unions had their start in socialism. This guy is a socialist. America has 'elected' a de facto king. Just like Israel begged for Saul and they got him, we have this guy. God help us all. America 1776-2009 It was nice while it lasted.
  7. Simple....give BACK the bonuses as a condition of the bailout and subtract that amount from the bailout. No bailout is best though. Let 'em fall.
  8. Ovedya, there is a LOT of confusing teaching concerning eschatology out here. It's no wonder Believers, especially younger ones, get confused.
  9. Obama speaks of Redistributing Wealth and he is a socialist, even though the transcripts are pretty clear that is not what he was talking about. can you think of a better term. The money is given by people to the Govt who in turn redistribute it where it is needed. I am just an analytical nerd! Yay! Someone admits it! Good call Gator. Usually though, when a socialist speaks of redistribution of the wealth, it refers to collectivism.
  10. I'd get locked up fo sho, because my mind would be like: Take this machine and stuff it right in the dumpster.
  11. That depends upon how you understand the First Resurrection Zeke. The First Resurrection is defined as the one over which the Second Death has no power. That means that the First Resurrection is connected to Christ's resurrection. When we were saved, and then baptized, we became partakers in the First Resurrection. The godless are not partakers. We are ALL however, just and unjust, going to be physically resurrected. The second resurrection and the second death are not connected. The second resurrection occurs on the LAST DAY, according to Jesus, (multiple times in John) and refers strictly to the BODY, not the spirit. When believers are resurrected in the body at the last day, it will be unto life. When the godless are resurrected in the body at the last day, it will be unto death. Jhn 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. Obviously, this refers to Believers. The unbeliever does not take the Lord's Supper. Now compare this: Jhn 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Clearly here, the godless man is meant, but the last day is still mentioned. There cannot be 2 'last days', last means just that...last. Since the rapture refers to the change of the body, which is connected to the resurrection, it too must occur on the ....LAST DAY.
  12. Mr. O needs to rake the stuff in his own backyard before worrying about any other country. That goes for ANY American President. America First, then the rest of the world. Right now, Islam is our enemy. They won't remain so forever. The Germans and Japanese were, they are no longer. The Russians and we glared at each other over the backyard fence for 40 some-odd years. Now we have accord. National enemies will come and go. It's ideology, not people. Be glad I am not President. There wouldn't BE a Mecca after 9-11. I would have put the blame squarely where it belonged. Saudi. Saddam was a problem of a different nature. He was not a Muslim in the religious sense. He was an oppressive dictator, he needed dealt with, but I think we could have handled it better. More covertly shall we say. The Muslim world forgets how we bailed their heinies out of the fire in Afghanistan when the Russkies came rolling in. Like Europe, they are ungrateful. So, they can be ungrateful and poor until they understand that we are not gonna put up with their people flying planes into our buildings. I believe we should cut off all aid to them from the US government, not kiss up to them as if 9-11 was OUR fault.
  13. The reason for the separation is because we're violators of his holy law by nature. When God says through Isaiah that all of our righteousness is as filthy rags, he's not talking about the kind of oily dirty rags you find in your garage. Read the passage in Hebrew. The rags refer to something ceremonially unclean that I won't mention here out of common decency. That is how God views our futile attempts as righteousness. We are nasty to him in our own nature. If more people understood just where they stood, maybe they would see their need to BE saved. Jesus loves you is not 100% correct. It's true, yes, but the problem is people use it for fire insurance. Jesus loved us and to show it, he died for what we are in the sight of God.
  14. :Sigh: I told you guys he is a socialist/humanist. This is what to expect from such a man. LORD God deliver us from evil in Jesus name.
  15. I am always asked why I believe as I do. Although I usually don't start off the converstation you are violaters of the law and worthy of death, even if it is true, that usually gets the dander up of the other person and closes off the hearts and minds. Of course not. But still, an unrepentant needs to know WHY they need to believe. That is the why. They need to understand how God sees them. All sin is violation of the Law. The Law is a good thing, as Paul says, but we're bound up in sin. We need to understand where we stand before God so that we will see the need for salvation. Like the man in the parable who had no idea his house was on fire, we know why we need to come to Christ. Our house is on fire. There is no saving Adam. He must die, but we come to Christ.
  16. A Christian man was walking down the street in his hometown and as he did, he noticed a home on fire. Dutifully, he ran over and began to call out to someone he saw in the upstairs window: "You need to jump out the window! Hurry." The home's occupant walked over to the window and replied: "Are you nuts, I have perfectly good steps in here." The Christian replied, "You NEED to jump out the window!" The occupant shook his head and went back to what he was doing before. A few minutes later, another Christian appeared outside the window. "Hey man, you need to jump out the window." The occupant replied tersely: "So I've heard. Why?" "YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE! It's jump or die!" The man jumped out the window into the arms of the waiting Christian. A moment later, the house collapsed. So then, what was the difference between the messages? The second man gave the WHY. Believing on Jesus will mean little if we don't explain to people that they are violators of the law of God and worthy of death in His eyes. We need to give the bad news along with the Good News. An unrepentant sinner needs to understand the WHY of belief.
  17. A little of each actually. I imagine most of us are a little of each. Hopefully more thermostat than thermometer.
  18. Actually, I have heard him express his Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior on several occasions. Sweet! I was not sure. Still, with any conservative, conservatism doesn't always equal Christian. I like Rush to a point, sometimes though he can grate on you a little. Likewise, being somewhat to the Left doesn't always mean unbeliever. I'd support limited (very limited) National Health Care for those who can't afford it. The premium would be deducted from one's paycheck like Social Security and would only be for those with limited income. I am pretty conservative in my politics, but no one should die for lack of healthcare, nor go bankrupt trying to pay something over their head. (Unfortunately, it would get a huge bureaucracy to run it and wind up like SS)
  19. If the Pope made an edict that stated that any known practicing homosexual or pedophile in the priesthood would be defrocked and excommunicated until they showed repentant fruit, that would go a LONG way in showing he was serious. The Church has the lists of persons in the scandals. Set them aside. Don't cover it up when and if God forbid, anymore are found. Get rid of groups like Dignity, the pro-homosexual group by excommunicating its members til they repent. And we Protestants are not blameless in this thing. Ted Haggard admits a struggle, he shoudn't be preaching until he gets help. Obviously, his heart is tender because he admits the struggle and I feel for him, but to allow him to preach while engaging in heinous sin makes the Church look bad. Mr. Swaggart...this goes for you too. It's not JUST homosexuality in the Church.
  20. One of the things that we as Believers have to be careful of is thinking that just because Rushbo is a conservative, that makes him a Christian as well. I'm not 100% sure whether he is or not. I take his show with a grain of salt anymore.
  21. I wish more people would understand that and quit trying to get the govt to do our job for us. We shouldn't be supporting an amoral government, either. And that's what we have here. No friend, we have an IMMORAL government. There is no such thing as amorality. You are either moral or immoral. There absolutely IS such a thing as amorality, defined as the absence of any morals whatsoever; it is embodied in the nonbeliever who lives by the 'if it feels good, do it' motto or the Wiccan, or the garden variety serial killer who has no reservations about anything. Nopearooski friend. Wiccans are nature worshipers, violating the first commandment, You shall have no other gods before me. The nonbeliever violates the law of God as well by failing to believe and setting himself up as God, violating the same commandment. There is no such thing as amorality. You either follow God or you don't. One is moral, the other immoral.
  22. and you just hit the nail on the head. And how do we try to change people from immoral to moral? do we pass laws or do we try to change their hearts? Yes. We work as a Church in Jesus to bring the Gospel to individuals so that hearts will be changed. We enact law to protect society from immoral conduct and its results. To the person who posted about molestation: Child molestation is definitely a thing which needs dealt with, but homosexuality is as well. Both are crimes against the natural order and capital offenses in Scripture.
  23. Hmmm. I guess Jesus was off the mark when He called the leaders of his day hypocrites. Or Paul was off the mark when he rebuked the high priest. Christianity is not always sweetness and light. I can see by his actions what's in his mind. He continues to enact immoral policies. The Scriptures tell me what God thinks. Obama will continue this trend unfortunately because no one calls him on it, and even if they DID, I suspect he wouldn't listen. I could be wrong. But I suspect he'd simply ignore any rebuke given him. If the American people collectively do something stupid, then it's a matter of 'if the shoe fits'. I think we're bringing more judgment on ourselves as a nation by electing a man who believes in the things this President does. The Scriptures lead me to believe that. With the exception of the clown remark (sorry), I stand by my words.
  24. Yes he does. But what we do instead is try to get the government to do it for us. We should not need the government to tell us what is moral or not. It is not the job of the government to set our morals for us. Agreed. It is OUR job to tell the government what is moral and immoral and when they enact immoral legislation, we need to chastise them for it. The government is an extension of the people. The people elect a government which reflects them. If the government is enacting immoral legislation, it is a sign that the people are IMMORAL AS WELL.
  25. I wish more people would understand that and quit trying to get the govt to do our job for us. We shouldn't be supporting an amoral government, either. And that's what we have here. No friend, we have an IMMORAL government. There is no such thing as amorality. You are either moral or immoral.
