  1. There must be a legal age limit when a dependant is no longer under the parent's direction. In my state it's 18. From the article, I am under the impression it is the same in Ohio. Blessings,

  3. Blessings, Axxman As a matter of information for you, Axxman, I didn't get this information from the OP. And yes, two teachers were sued. According to my source, the two teachers at Pace High School were Principal Frank Lay and school teacher Michelle Winkler. You finally figured that out I see. Basically, you are saying what I already pointed out... , more than once. using different words. I'm glad you are beginning to finally figure out what is going on. Kudos to ya! However, the only reason that the principal and teacher at Pace High School consented to alleged guilt was as I said... he never had proper representation protecting his "individual" Constitutional rights. This is where the ACLU overstepped the principal's (who is also a teacher) Constitutional rights, and tried to pull one over on him.

  5. PURCELLVILLE, VA, Dec. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Christer and Annie Johansson, a Christian homeschooling family, are in the unimaginable position of permanently losing custody of their only child, seven-year-old Dominic Johansson, simply because they homeschool. Swedish authorities boarded a plane bound for India in June of this year (Annie's home country) and removed Dominic from his parents. They did not have a warrant nor have they charged the Johanssons with a crime; they simply did not believe homeschooling is an appropriate way to raise a child and insist the government raise Dominic. "This is one of the most disgraceful abuses of power we have ever witnessed," said HSLDA attorney Mike Donnelly. "The Swedish government is exercising its authority under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child to unnecessarily break up this family." >>>>More

  7. Good point, wyguy And I think Christians need to learn which amendment is relevant to their free speech and protects their religious freedoms under our Constitution so if someone infringes upon it, they are armed and ready to defend their actions. Blessings,
  8. Blessings, Axxman You need to read the OP again. Or look up the case. Two teachers were sued. But Liberty Counsel, according to their announcement, decided to represent the faculty, students and staff because the ACLU is clearly violating their First Amendment rights. We are now at the tail end of the case The lawsuit involved all of the employees at the school and infringed upon all of their constitutional rights under the First Amendment and was very well publicized in the Christian sphere, so this case is very well known. Yes it is ...I specifically asked you to provide a link so I could read the case for myself. I didn't ask for the case. Because you refuse to do so, I can only think that you have something to hide. If you have a problem with that, then as far as I am concerned, I think you just want to argue without providing any evidence to support what you are saying, and I'm not going to play your game. It's only posting courtesy to provide links to support what one is saying, and you are the only poster that I have come across here that refuses to do so upon request.
  9. Blessings, Axxman Nikki said Axxman replied Nikki said Axxman said So which amendment are you now talking about, Axxman?.... You were the one who insinuated the fourteenth amendment was applicable here? ? Very easy. I already addressed that above. Nikki said Perhaps you should look up the Pace High School case and gather your information so you can have a better idea of what we're talking about? ? Nope, I am not trying to muddy the facts. I am only going by what you said. I never said Shiloh 357 accused you of lying; you've got it backwards ... it's the other way around. shiloh357 said To which you replied I'll rephrase it for you. Where did Shiloh357 accuse you of lying when he asked you for a link? And how does this make him wrong?
  10. Blessings,Axxman Apparently, this is the final end of a series of religious arguments between the ACLU, Pace High School, and the individual employess, where the ACLU overstepped their bounds. No that is not the reason alleged "guilt" was admitted. The school employees, according to the order had no say and no legal representation in the case to protect their rights.
  11. Talk about liberalism at its extreme. It's the same argument that drives socialism/fascism/communism - think about it. hmmm... who was it that said ? ? ? "It's not that I want to punish your success,"... "I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too. Then, "he" explained his trickle-up theory of economics. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody," letting the cat out of the bag. Blessings,
  12. President Klaus is a most admirable person and leader. A sheep among the wolves, he defended Israel against Hamas in the most recent Gaza War, and is a capitalist at heart. He has no love for the European Union, and was the last to sign on into the Lisbon Treaty, with reluctance, and only after his own government approved of the treaty, which takes away the sovereignty of the Czech Republic He has outspokenly voiced his opinion on climate change as being a myth, and cannot stand the politics of Brussels. He is not one to follow the crowd and what a shame it is that he does not have more power to effect a political change in the right direction in his part of the world. Blessings,
  13. Blessings, Link Taunton Officials Dispute Reports On Jesus Sketch It appears now that the school is trying to cover their tracks.... And the good news in all of this is that Jesus and the Bible is sure getting alot of attention these days in the media no matter how much those poor lost souls try to keep Him hidden In the NJ case, (with video) Link The principal at Madison Park Elementary School in Old Bridge apologized and said the teacher made a mistake. The principal says school policy allows children to read the Bible or any other religious book during quiet time. The school board addressed the issue for concerned parents on Tuesday night
  14. Were all religious groups treated equally? I don't see where Christian and Hanukkah songs were represented and promoted by the principal, and sung, which makes it a serious violation of of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment and the people of the school district and all over Indiana should be bomb-barding the state officials for this principal to be reprimanded for his discriminating against the other religious celebrations taking place during this time of the year, and promoting Islam in a public teaching facility. Since when did Islam ever care about Christmas and the Son of God's birth celebration?? Blessings, Our government doesn't care about the Constitution any more. You can see it in everything that they do. And, Allah and God are not the same. God is the only God, Allah is what Satan has deceived the world into calling him. Ditto to what you said, Parker. But it doesn't hurt to let your protest be heard inspite of what the government thinks. I know if this happened in my area school district, I'd be writing my local congressmen demanding an explanation and stirring the pot up alittle bit. Apathy and indifference never changes a bad situation, and is the governent's best friend. Blessings,
  15. What the fact that Allah is the arabic name for God. According to the qu'ran, (Sura 112:1-4) and muslims, God had no son, so allah is not God, arabic or not. Blessings,
  16. Sounds like this guy read the Bible Go, and make more disciples for Christ ! Blessings,
  17. You are mistating the facts and ignoring the actual point I was making. According to you, if we have a prayer to Jesus, we are discriminating against everyone else who is of another religion. You are further misapplying "equal protection." Equal protection pertains to protecting to the rights of all people that they will not be denied employment, education, or any benefits the government offers on the basis of their religion. It has nothing to do with the issue you are applying it to in this thread. Not in those words, but you are the one who tried to apply this issue to the 14th amendment and tied praying at school with the notion that it was discriminatory and violated the 14th Amendment's "equal protection" clause. Yes, but "religious discrimination" as defined in the 14th Amendment is far different than how you have been applying that concept in this thread. Yet, you cannot, when asked, cite any of those the rulings. Frankly, I don't think you really have a grasp on this type of situation. The OP pertains to teachers praying on their own, in a private setting. While on campus, they not allowed to even appear to be praying, on their breaks or even at a private function if the function is held on campus. The 14th Amendment simply protects people from be descriminated against on the basis of their religion. It does not include in its definition of discrimination, teachers praying privately to themselves on their lunch break. So no, I doubt the 14th Amendment has been "roundly used" in these types of cases. This type of case is just a matter of Christian teachers being bullied. If this were happening to Muslim teachers in the US, you would be sticking up for the teachers. Yes, School teachers are public employees. That does not mean they surrender their rights at the door. There is no law that prohibits anyone from praying or assuming a posture of prayer on school grounds. There is no law that says teachers are required to expunge all evidences of religious conviction while on campus. If teacher wears a religious symbol or prays before they eat their lunch, or prays private to themselves on their lunch break, there is no violation of the 14th Amendment taking place. The 14th Amendment does not really speak to this issue. Blessings, shiloh357 Well put
  18. Blessings, Axxman As public employees, school teachers do not lose their Constitutional freedoms behind the school door. Did you read my post #41 above? Jay Sekulow, Constitutional Law Attorney writes I think there's an absolute misunderstanding of what the law is with regard to prayer at school events. Interestingly, in 1969 in the Tinker case, the Supreme Court held that "students [nor] teachers shed their constitutional rights . . . at the schoolhouse gate." This was settled once and for all in the Tinker Case in 1969. What they do on their own time inside the school building is their business, and yes they are allowed to pray. They are allowed to say grace, and do not have to hide in a closet to do so. They are allowed to read the Bible. Link I read about the Irving Adler case at the above link. I don't see what you are saying ref. the Fourteenth Amendment. Why don't you put up your link that you are claiming the Fourteenth Amendment? I would like to see what it says. Axxman, the fourteenth amendment has nothing to do with religious equal access, which simply means all religions have the same rights; that if muslim students are given permission to meet and use a school or college room or facility to meet for whatever purposes on their free time, then Christian students have the same rights. The equal access laws cover discrimination. That's "equal access" in a nutshell. Equal Access Act and The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment The Supreme Court held, in Widmar v. Vinvent, that when colleges allowed student groups to use their facilities they could not discriminate against student religious groups. [FN10] In other words, Christian students have to be allowed to use a meeting room on campus with the same restrictions applied to any other student group. The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment is not violated when a government entity, such as a public university, treats all groups the same, without attempting to censor religious speech. The Mergens Court quoted from Widmar extensively as they explained why secondary students have the right to have religious clubs on their campus. More at link
  19. Other One... Teachers are allowed to pray. Shiloh is right. This is a complete brreach of school teacher's First Amendment rights Jay Sekulow, Constitution law expert, who deals with these cases all the time, writes the following on his site where people have written in and asked him questions about their Constitutional rights. It might be a good idea to glance over it because people are having their rights trampled on and don't even know it. Link At our annual school staff luncheon, we waited for someone to go up and pray before the meal as usual, but no one ever did. When I approached our instructional supervisor about this, she told me that she was advised we couldn't pray. Are teachers and other adults (e.g. parents, administrators) allowed to pray at school, voluntarily and on their own time? Jay answers: Yes, you should have no problem if it's an after-school event. As you said, the prayer needs to be voluntary; but if a group of teachers wants to pray before the meal, there should be no problem whatsoever. What you may have is confusion about the voluntary aspect of the prayer. If the school principal prays, the question can be raised as to whether that implies an endorsement of religion by the state. The Supreme Court of the United States has said that a school doesn't endorse everything it fails to censor, and that high school students are mature enough to understand this; therefore, teachers, getting together for a luncheon would certainly be expected to understand. I think there's an absolute misunderstanding of what the law is with regard to prayer at school events. Interestingly, in 1969 in the Tinker case, the Supreme Court held that "students [nor] teachers shed their constitutional rights . . . at the schoolhouse gate." I think you're in great shape legally, Roy. We just need to get some of our lawyers here at the American Center for Law & Justice to help you on this. Prayer is not prohibited activity, and this is a group of adults. You can't compel the prayer; you can't require anybody to pray. But you certainly could have prayed before the beginning of that meal. The citation for the Tinker case, mentioned above, can be found in "Students' Rights in the Public Schools," which you can read online by clicking here. Additional information on this and other topics related to your religious freedom can be found on our "Resources" page, which you can access by clicking here. Here are some more case laws siting the Tinker case Blessings,
  20. Blessings, Axxman Not really... I'm just going by what you said. That's really off topic. I think that's already been addressed. Well, the First Amendment deals with religion, which is a part of the Constitution, so why not? huh? You still didn't answer my question. Why not? If you are not ashamed of someone, why not include Him in your conversations? The Apostle Paul said For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16 You sound as if talking about Jesus in public is offensive to you? I don't understand how one's position or authority can put anyone else in an uncomfortable position because one talks about Jesus? His name is well known all over the world. I kinda agree with Liberty Counsel as they have an excellent track record in defending Christian liberties and I trust what they say.
  21. Blessings, Axxman No hmmm.. What Bible are you reading, Axxman? But let's just say that your Bible supports all of those things as "religious expressions... " That gives my Bible, the true Word of God and my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, as much right under the equal access laws to be spoken of in public places. Thank you for substantiating my point. Well, obviously, it appears to me that Bible believing Christians are being discriminated against in the OP. I don't know about that, but I do know the First Amendment is still in effect. The separation of church and state myth is no where in the American Constitution. The First Amendment was written into the Constitution to keep the government from interferring with the people's right to worship God and Jesus Christ during a time when the people had broken away from the dictatorial King and State run Church of England, and the founding fathers had the foresight to include it to protect all future generations from Christian religious tyranny. You need to read and study the American Revolutionay War history. I know what you said, Axxman. How can one show his faith in Christ by doing good works when even athesists do good works and don't believe in God? How is sharing your love for and faith in Christ by "using words" throwing Christianity in someone's face? I don't understand your logic. Why would you want to hide your faith in Jesus by not verbally telling others of your faith in Him if you are not ashamed? you did say... I do??? Where did I do that? I don't think it has anything to do with who's a better Christian, but rather what the Bible and the First Amendment says. Which is what this topic is about. I agree; that's why parents today need to monitor on a daily basis what their children are being exposed to while away at school. But I doubt the OP is about false religious teachings as Liberty Counsel is an exceptional and highly recognized Constitutional legal authority who has been defending the rights of Bible believing Christians who are discriminated against under the First Amendment in all walks of life in America for years.
  22. The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday called for an end to the "absurd situation" in which arrest warrants were being issued to Israeli officials over alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip. "Only actions can put an end to this absurd situation, which would have seemed a comedy of errors were it not so serious," said the Foreign Ministry, a day after it emerged that opposition leader Tzipi Livni had canceled her trip to Britain after a warrant was issued for her arrest. Senior officials in Israel confirmed reports on Monday that a British court had issued an arrest warrant against opposition leader Tzipi Livni for her role in orchestrating Israel's military offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip nearly a year ago. The request for the warrant was submitted by a pro-Palestinian organization. More>>>>>Link
