OK..It looks pretty clear to me. I'll get right on it. Unbelievable as it is, I guess this is to be expected. It kinda looks as if this administration is trying to undo and make ineffective much of what the BushAdministration-Congress accomplished. Blessings, Nikki -

Hi rpfan: If this isn't a Declaration of War by Congress, I'd like to know what it is? Is this administration playing semantics? Or making up the rules as they go along until it's brought to light? JOINT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF FORCE AGAINST TERRORISTS September 14, 2001 This is the text of the joint resolution authorizing the use of force against terrorists, adopted by the Senate and the House of Representatives: To authorize the use of United States armed forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States. Whereas, on Sept. 11, 2001, acts of despicable violence were committed against the United States and its citizens; and Whereas, such acts render it both necessary and appropriate that the United States exercise its rights to self-defense and to protect United States citizens both at home and abroad, and Whereas, in light of the threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by these grave acts of violence, and Whereas, such acts continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, Whereas the president has authority under the Constitution to take action to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States. Resolved by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, Section 1. Short Title This joint resolution may be cited as the "Authorization for Use of Military Force" Section 2. Authorization for Use of United States Armed Forces (a) That the president is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons. (b) War Powers Resolution Requirements Specific Statutory Authorization -- Consistent with section 8(a)(1) of the War Powers Resolution, the Congress declares that this section is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution. Applicability of Other Requirements -- Nothing in this resolution supersedes any requirement of the War Powers Resolution. Blessings, Nikki -
Here's what I think. Since God is eternal, He does not live in our time sphere and is not confined to time on earth. Soon to God at the time The Revelation was given to John by Jesus Christ could mean thousands of years to us. I personally believe that when Jesus gave His Revelation or vision to the Apostle John, Jesus was referring to the tribulation time of the end that would happen just before His return because of all the other proprocies that are lining up in the OT concerning Israel, and the evil of the day prophecized in the NT in many places that signal His soon return to earth, and therefore, is speaking to the endtime church. I also believe our generation is living in the time that Jesus was speaking about to John in The Revelation. Jesus spoke to seven churches in John's vision with specific warnings to each church, except the Church at Philadelphia, and these warnings are very applicable for all believers today I think. Even if this was not the time of the end, I think The Revelation would still be applicable to all believers, with lessons to learn because the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." Blessings, Nikki Rev 20 is certainly applicable to us, but the chapters before that depict the destruction of Jerusalem double for her sins and the punishment of the apostate Jewish leadership for its rejection of Messiah and leading astray of the people (who wind up suffering because of their leaders' evil). The tribulation was 3.5 years of time during which this punishment occurred. It was the time of JACOB'S trouble. It affected Israel, and those nations which interacted with her. (Remember, when Jerusalem burns, the nations cry over it; a lot of trade was done with Jerusalem as it was one of the major trade centers of the Roman world) The seven churches were specifically mentioned as having been IN ASIA. Philadelphia was perfect, Laodicea was the most imperfect, the others had varying degrees of imperfection. He was talking TO THEM and no one else (although they can certainly serve as examples). He wanted them to get their act together, because the tribulation WAS coming very soon. (I don't subscribe to the late date of Revelation, I believe it was written before then.) Revelation was clearly written to those in the midst of tribulation (tough times) with John, not to us 2000+ years later. Can we learn from what they went through? Absolutely, but Revelation wasn't written specifically to US, it was to THEM. So if I am understanding you correctly, you are saying all but Revelation 20 has occurred? If this is so, could you please answer the following question for me pertaining to Revelation 17? Revelation 17:1-12 KJV 1And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 2With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 3So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 7And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. In this passage from Revelation 17, John saw the beast and the harlot together, with the harlot reigning over a ten horned beast, which I attribute to an end time global beast. With your theory, could you explain in what time period this happened? Blessings, Nikki

Axxman: Jesus never used any worldly gimmicks to draw in his followers to believe on him and receive eternal life. He did miracles to prove who he was, and he taught his followers from the Old Testament, and he rebuked certain ones using Old Testament Scripture. This has already been pointed out to you. This particular message from Jesus is one of rebuke, Axxman, and is very plain to see it in Jesus' teaching. Moreover, Jesus continues to say in the next verse Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you; for him hath God the Father sealed. Pointing out the truth of scripture is not a condemnation of anyone, except maybe to those who may be under conviction or may find it offensive. Paul preached "Christ crucified" to the lost. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness1:Corinthians 1:23 Jude also warned that there would be mockers in the last time: But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. The question to ask is why, in the first place would any pastor use a worldly gimmick to get people to come to his church, which amounts to nothing less than a lottery, instead of defending this worldly deception. This is just so anti-Gospel. Is he promoting Christ or his church? Obviously he is promoting his church. The church doesn't save anyone. Only the message of the risen Christ crucified can save sinners. He should be preaching the salvation Gospel message through Christ crucified, lifting Jesus up, salvation by grace through the blood of Christ, and going out into the community as Jesus and the early Christians taught and did. I do not believe that The Holy Spirit would tell a pastor to do something that is contrary to His written Word to get the unchurched in. This is something of the flesh and self, and not of God. Feeding people that need food, or any other need can be done by other church ministries, but the congregation should be first; a pastor's primary concern is to tend to his flock's spiritual needs and what One Light scripturally pointed out awhile back in this thread. It's a fact that the unchurched will prey off of Christian churches when they need a free handout, or food or are hungry, or need a place to stay, but never set foot inside the church to become a part of or give back to the congregation I saw this in my own congregation, and my pastor put a stop to it. They didn't want any part of Jesus, and our Christ crucified message; except to feed their bellies. People were calling everyday until the churches food pantry had bare shelves. Blessings, Nikki

KCO2 It is written in John's Gospel that when Jesus perceived that the people were only following him because they got fed he rebuked them. If the Gospel message of salvation is not enough to get one to follow Jesus, then the person is not following him for the right reasons. A worldly gimmick is so easy to lure the lost into church through a money gimmick as in this latest worldly scheme, taking advantage of the people and the hard economic times, but it is wrong, and it does matter to God. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled.John 6:26 These people saw the miracles, but only wanted what Jesus had to offer in the way of food to fill their belly; or in this case, what the pastor can give them through the money gimmick in hopes that their name would be pulled and they will win the lottery. All of a sudden the pastor reports the attendence in his congregation has gone up since he started the worldly money gimmick. I have recently read that instead of taking in up to $25,000 a week, he now brings in $40,000 a week. But,even a car salesman knows that once you start these worldly marketing schemes to keep the money and customers coming in, you have to out do the garage up the street, or the people will go there instead. You can make out of the Scripture what you want, but I believe our Lord has more to offer than money or a car. He said And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me John 12:32 Blessings, Nikki

Some independent churches have already opted out of the tax exempt status because the IRS was dictating to them what they could and could not preach from the pulpit. Now they are free to preach against hot button topics such as homoxexusality=sin from the pulpit, and endorse political candidates without fear the IRS will come in and take their tax exempt status away. This has been a very good thing for the churches. Maybe this is not a bad thing. Blessings, Nikki

WN: Feds Prepare to Seize Four Mosques, Office Building Suspected of
nikki1 replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
The reality is that islam isn't a religion, but a very dangerous politicized radical ideology. According to this article from the Jerusalem Post, 80% of all mosques have become radicalized, and this article is 4 years old. The Feds need to investigate all of them, and not just four. Expert: Saudis have radicalized 80% of US mosques Mainstream US Muslim organizations are heavily influenced by Saudi-funded extremists, according to Yehudit Barsky, an expert on terrorism at the American Jewish Committee. Worse still, Barsky told The Jerusalem Post last week, these "extremist organizations continue to claim the mantle of leadership" over American Islam. Continues at link Blessings, Nikki -
I think they could but frankly I don't trust this government with doing much of anything. I think they will use any situation to gain more control and rip freedom away from everyone- our government seems less inclined to protect us and more inclined to control us. So I am a little leery about giving Obama the right to monitor even Muslims because they would twist a bill around to monitoring Christians as well. Scary times we live in folks. I am not totally convinced that the government was not monitoring Hasan. You make some good points., CSLewis, but I'd like to add that Obama and his government is totally sympathetic to muslims and the muslim nations. Look how he has been abandoning Israel and his treatment toward PM Netanyahu of Israel, and his wanting to talk politics with Iran. When the people of Iran protested in massive protests during the June election, where was Obama to support the people of Iran and speak out against Iran's brutal dictatorial regime who was murdering its innocent people? This massacre occurred on Obama's watch, and it is known the electronic emails by Hasan started in January, so the government was aware. All the signals were there that Hasan was sympathizing and collaborating with the enemy electronically. Yet nothing was done about it. Obama has already said a long time ago in his book Audacity of Hope that if it came to the crunch, he'd side with muslims. Now look at our troops in Afghanistan, in dire need of more troops, troops that have been requested, and Obama continues to refuse to take care of this problem. Blessings, Nikki

not, being that everything (except Gods unconditional love for us) has conditions on it..... even our salvation is conditional, we have to accept the gift..... as far as other stuff, we are instructed how that is to come about, and it has nothing to do the blabbing it and grabbing it.... seek ye FIRST................THEN................ (CONDITION...) IF, THEN constitutes condition.... when it is said that He will give us the desires of our hearts, what is really meant? if we are truely following HIM, then the desires of our heart are no longer about us, it is about Christ and those that we are to be serving, those lost souls and bringing them to Christ, not about a car, or phone or junk like that, but eternal desires..... mike John 6:33--Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Spoken about chapter six as a whole) AMEN Amen ! Blessings, Nikki

Those are my sentiments, also Fez... however, I believe Christians are to judge fellow believers righteously. John 7:24 with Scripture as our guide. This is not to be confused with judging their souls. Blessings, Nikki

Axxman If Christ's church has not been moving into apostasy, it would not be using worldly gimmicks to prey on the lost. Good, I'm happy that your church gives away tithes, but we're not talking about your church giving away tithes. You seem to be confusing having fun in the spirit of the Lord, with extra-biblical worldly gimmicks. I am all for having fun and joy in the Lord, which is totally scriptural and Bible believing churches do all the time. This is what I said, and not your intepretation of what I said. Are they calling this an act of terror, or are they blaming the guy's mental problems? I saw one report from several shrinks from Walter Reed who worked with the jihadist that labeled him psychotic, schizoid, detached. I'll see if I can find it. This leads me to wonder if they are now going to try to blame it on mental problem? What radical follower of islam doesn't have mental problems is the question to look at? Radical islam is the root cause of the mental problem. edit to add: Here's the article I was talking about... It's an eye opener: Walter Reed Officials Asked: Was Hasan Psychotic? November 11, 2009 Starting in the spring of 2008, key officials from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences held a series of meetings and conversations, in part about Maj. Nidal Hasan, the man accused of killing 13 people and wounding dozens of others last week during a shooting spree at Fort Hood. One of the questions they pondered: Was Hasan psychotic? "Put it this way," says one official familiar with the conversations that took place. "Everybody felt that if you were deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, you would not want Nidal Hasan in your foxhole." In documents reviewed by NPR and conversations with medical officials at Walter Reed and USUHS, new details have emerged regarding serious concerns that officials raised about Hasan during his time at both institutions. Hasan spent six years as a psychiatrist at Walter Reed, beginning in 2003, and he had a fellowship at USUHS until shortly before he went to Fort Hood in the summer of 2009. A committee of officials from both places regularly meets once a month to discuss pressing topics surrounding the psychiatrists and other mental health professionals who train and work at the institutions. NPR spoke with military psychiatrists and officials who worked closely with Hasan, as well as those who monitored the committee and/or student and faculty matters. None would allow their names to be used, because of the criminal investigation into the Fort Hood shootings. Enlarge Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences/APA portrait taken of Hasan upon entering the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Disaster and Military Psychiatry Fellowship program in 2007. Eve thought the serpent's gimmick was harmless and would be alot of fun, too, and she ate of the fruit God told her not to. You can read about it in Genesis Chapter 3 Eve was specifically ordered by God Himself to not eat the fruit. We have been ordered to spread the Gospel and to use every means possible, become all things to all men that we might save some. I noticed you overlooked the consequences of disobedience to God's Word the human race has suffered from by inheriting sin ...Never the less, I'll move on and address the few words you took out of context attempting to justify your unbiblical position. Just as Eve disobeyed God's Word, so are the churches using gimmicks (deception), preying on the lost and the congregation for money, and we have been seeing the dire consequences for years as Christ's church moves further into apostasy, becomming a part of the world, when we as Christians have been called out of the world by Christ. It simply is not scriptural no matter how you or others try to spin it. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (King James Version) 19For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. If you read further into the next chapter, the Apostle Paul clairfies his words and elaborates more on the above passage, and speaks of how to relate to Jews and Greeks in order to win them to Christ. 1 Corinthians 10: 31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 32.Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God. in other words, adapt as much as you can in scriptural, non-sinful ways 33Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved. And Paul further clarifies in 1 Corinthians 11, clarifying his words even more ....that you took out of context... 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I am of Christ Neither Jesus nor any of his chosen apostles ever used worldly gimmicks and deceptions to bring the lost into His kingdom and we don't have the authority to cheapen His name or His church by doing so either. Jesus quoted God's Word from the Old Testament as He taught His followers, and did miracles to prove who He was. Blessings, Nikki

I agree. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions Joel 2:28 Who's to say whether or not he is a member of the underground Christian church in China? Or a closet Christian because of the severe pesecution in China? Does anyone really know ? Different enthnic groups express themselves in their own cultural artistic way that often displays their cultural whether it be the American culture or Chinese culture. But all Christians no matter what culture, depict fire and or hell to be what it is. Fire around Obama, I'd say is quite an ominous sign, as well as prophetic considering all the havoc he has caused during his short time in office. It's not far fetched to say that perhaps the Lord showed the artist something in a vision. There are literally millions upon millions of Chinese who belong to the underground church movement in China who are severely persecuted for their faith, beaten to death and thrown in jail and God could be showing them things that the western church could never see because of their own blindness, and this artist could very well be a part of it or he could be a closet Christian for all we know, and he is depicting something he saw in a vision through his eastern art. Blessings, Nikki

Precisely my dear friend's, precisely prophetic. hmm... Looks like others are picking up on this Burning Man Obama artist dipiction From the Syracuse examiner.com The Chinese have figured out the true Obama: Burning Man-Obama Reuters reported on a sculpture by Chinese artist named Liu Bolin that is titled "Burning Man Obama." The Reuters image depicts the artist testing the piece at his workshop in Beijing this month. The artist explains that the sculpture represents U.S. President Barack Obama's impact on the world!" This fits what conservative radio and TV have been trying to tell Americans. Obama

Blessings, Gerioke 2 Timothy 4:2-5 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts sinners and brings them to repentence by giving them God's Word. Thy Word is truth. Read John's Gospel Chapter 16 and 17. "As we have opportunity, let us do good unto all men, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM WHO ARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH." Galatians 6:10. Filling the pews with worldly gimmicks, giving away money in raffles does not qualify as a household of faith. Unsaved sinners are not of the household of faith. Any monies from the offering should be given to those in need inside of the congregation as the Apostle Paul taught; and to equip the congregation to further the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. This does not mean that the congregation should not have other ministries within the body, helping the homeless and such, as funds provide, but the Bible instructs us to do good "especially" unto those who are in the household of faith. We are to confront sinners in love as the Bible instructs, not be taken over by them and adapt to their ways, which is what is taking place within Christ's church all over America today. How can Christ's church be salt and light if we as a body become secularized or become like the world? Nikki
