  1. no, that is what you and your little voice in your head do. I take God's word as it is written, I dont put the little voice in my head ahead of God's written word. God teaches me the scriptures and I am always learning. Who teaches you? The scriptures are of course correct if interpreted properly.
  2. no, I have the utmost faith in the Holy Spirit, that is why I trust His written word. It was the Holy Spirit that led the men to write the books of the bible. it is your lack of faith in the Holy Spirit that causes you to discount and disparage the Written Word of God. If you were to spend a little more time studying the written Word you would know that the Holy Spirit tells us we can be tricked by Satan. You make the sciptures say what you want them to say and then say this is what God says.
  3. you are still dancing the dance What should two Christians do when both think they are listening to God and what they are hearing is at odds with each other? is there any other option you can think of out there other than that inner voice you are so taken with. is it possible that satan can confuse people by being the inner voice? You seem to have a problem with a lack of faith in the Holy Ghost. Please understand the Holy Ghost is real and is the most permanent stable entity of the universe. Trust Him!
  4. This is very understandable. We all experience this. There are many reasons for this. One is that God is training you. He is guiding you further into His plan for you. Your prayers may still be answered but just not in your time it will be according to God's time and when your prayers are answered you have been brought by God to the place where you fulfill His plan.
  5. "How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" To me this phrase alone tells me that there is a possibility that even after one is saved they have a possibility of falling. Why would James 5:16 tell us to confess our faults one to another if we no longer sin? I mean if you can't fall from grace then you are perfect and cannot sin anymore right? So why confess one's faults? Very good post Scare Bear. You are absolutely right.
  6. Yes, but how do you tell? (Oh, you aren't the one I asked the initial question to . . . but even still, what is your criteria or whatever?) I listen to God, but don't believe me, maybe I don't. Why take my word? Why take anyone's word? What is important for you is that you listen to God. He is always true. Man is often false. You are not alone. God's Spirit is always directing you. You follow it and then you are in God's will and can "see" what teachings are true and what teachings are false.
  7. Then you must come across 'Herald' the Sabbatarian who by his own admission copies and pastes onto over 100 different sites. We hound him off our UK site (or at least I do) on the grounds that he doesn't come in order to fellowship in that he never posts to any thread except his own. Don't get like that my friend and brother. (I haven't been through the member's list.... maybe he's here and reading this ) Mike. PS (yeah....he's here alright....under 'herald2') I will certainly be posting to other threads. No fun in just doing one's own!
  8. Don't get like that my friend and brother. I agree that we shouldn't spread ourselves too thin. It can have the affect of watering down the message as not enough time can be given to inquiries. You are so right, I have to be careful not to spread too thin.
  9. I am trying to see it? What?? You mean you can't see the Emperor's clothes? Mike. Still looking........
  10. Jesus is the Word! He is Light and the Life! He was made flesh and walked among man.
  11. Yes, but it doesn't let you in..... unless you go to CARM.org and then you can't navigate very far.... The post was created 3 hours ago and there are no replies. Seeker100 is the author. You have to be a member of the forums in order to view other posts by Seeker. Keep me updated. Saves me from logging in over there.
  12. Yes, but it doesn't let you in..... unless you go to CARM.org and then you can't navigate very far.... Oh man can't those people make anything easy.
  13. Good Post Mike!! Praise the Lord!!!
  14. I am all for listening to the Holy Spirit. However, by what standard do you determine which though, insight, vision, whatever is actually from the Holy Spirit? How many cults and false teaching have been and are around based on what people believe they heard from the Holy Spirit? (And yes, several genuinely do believe it was the Holy Spirit.) What you write here is very very true. Lots of cults and false teachings come from people claiming to be from God or that the teaching is of the Lord. How do you tell? It is very important that you be able to tell. You must listen to God yourself. You must draw close to His Spirit in you. From there He will guide you as to what is correct and what is false.
  15. How odd - this very same post was posted on a site called CARM.org - did you post it there? Yes I post on several sites
  16. The Bible is a collection of books and letters and religious writings that have been written over the course of many 100's of years. This book is hands down, the most read book, and by far the most influential in human history. At one time it was a crime to have this book in one's posession, in one's one native language. At one time the penalty of of such an act was to burnt alive. The Church of the day enforced these rules. Many people however in their zeal to make the bible available to the masses defied the laws about translating and distributing the bible in peoples' native tonques. Many of these people paid the ultimate price. Men like Hus, Wycliffe and many others must never be forgotten. We must never take for granted our bibles, in our homes, libraries and book stores, as they did not get there without a severe struggle. What is so unique about this book? This book is an amazing book. It is a book that shows many things. The book shows God's active work to unite man to Himself. The book also shows how man can become united with God and in so doing become his true self and have the light of life! The book also has the most significant historical event that has ever happened on this earth. God has become a human, walked our earth, was rejected, crucified and rose from the dead. It is the ultimate historical event between God and man. The bible thus contains the words of life. It contains the way man can become whole with His creator. This book however is written in a special way. It is not written to be understood with eyes of the flesh. Many words can have many meanings, thus totally changing what the interpreter's message of what the bible says. Thus there are many interpretations of the bible and many of these interpretations are for purposes that are not good. Many of these interpretations are deceitfully accepted as they promise people life without actually having to obey God's voice. Thus even though the bible shows us how we can have life, many who are not spiritual use the bible to continue in their own spiritual death. The bible is true but it must be read properly or it becomes a tool of the devil. We are not alone in this world. None of us are alone. God is with us all and He wants to gift us the gift, of Himself. He is here to give us life, joy and meaning. He is here to give us love. We must always obey His voice in our work, our relationships, our understanding of reality and our reading of the bible. Let's all obey God's voice when we read the bible so that its message of life can be revealed. Praise the Lord!!
  17. Exactly, I agree with you totally Perma.
  18. Things are getting into nonsence now. You know what I mean by reading, it is reading with proper understanding. It is getting late. Good night everyone!! God Bless!
  19. God spoke to Abraham. God speaks to us too if we listen. of course He does. now answer the question. if what we hear when God speaks to us is not in 100% agreement with the written word of God, then it's not really God's voice. true or false? no amount of dodging is going to change the truth, seeker. Your question makes no sence as what the bible says can be a million things to a million people. There is One who can read the bible. This One is in agreement with what He wrote. Love Him and through His Spirit He will disclose the correct way to read the bible. Believe in God's voice. IT is truth and life.
  20. And that's a fact! LOL!! Permie you shine
  21. God spoke to Abraham. God speaks to us too if we listen.
  22. Lady C, don't block the voice of the Lord. He is with you you if you will listen to Him. He will teach you how to read the bible beause with out His voice the bible cannot be read by man alone.
  23. nope I saw it. it made no sense at all, I have no clue what you were trying to say or what the passage was supposed to show. The scriptures that were provided was for the purpose of showing who it is that does the will of God. Not those who just say yes, but those who do... even if they said no. The last scripture was Jesus saying who it was that was His family... those who do the will of His and Our Father. Good Post Permie!
  24. Your problem is that you do not know what the written word is because you block out the voice of the one who wrote it.
