  1. And did you greet him or leave him in peace? I have seen few celebrities in person that I can think of. Once while in the mall a friend pointed at this muscle bound black man and said something like " do you know who that is?". I had no idea and forfeited my guesses. He said it was a well known Pro Wrestler name "Brisk House" Brown. One other time I can think of was when Father had taken us to Monroe, LA to stay the night. It was a Holiday Holidome if I remeber correctly. Anyhow I saw Tom Jones getting into a Limo in the back of the Hotel. I had no idea who he was only that his most remarkable feature, to me, was his hair. Man was it big. I am not sure how many of you have heard of "Buckskin" Bill but as a child I was on one of his programs for children, nothing major, I read the days menu if I am not mistaken. LOL
  2. AMEN!
  3. The rish get rich and the poor get poorer? We already know they like to show it off too. How about this for love of money? Article " can I have that back"?
  4. It hurts me to see you sad dearest sister Catsmeow. I will not see I know how you feel because each loss to us is unique. Please do not regret anything you think you could or should have done. Psalms 116:7
  5. Hello Gracyb and salutations. Welcome to Worthy boards. I beg your forgiveness. Please indulge me to show you what I see. Luke 22:27
  6. I would say again to pray and ask for a revalation reguarding this decission. If no revalation is provided then fasting and prayer are both needed. Matthew 7:7
  7. Nicely put Keith. I agree with Keith. But I would add that, yes, it is a question of faith. I know those times as well where you start to feel vulnerable and alone. Faith tells us we are not alone and will never be and as we love God he does love us tenfold in return. Every Feeling and thought we have he also shares and does know us better than we know ourselves. That being the case we are in him as he is in us. 1 John 4:18
  8. Well said SJ. Myself, I am not part of a religion. I too am a follower of Jesus Christ. Though it may apear, at times, that we are going with the flow, we are but leaves on the same river that is his righteous path for us.
  9. I found this and thought it might be of import. I was not looking for any substantiation to my position but nevertheless I found it.
  10. You are correct and I have much to learn. My compassion for The Israelis would not be so strong were it not for all the violence that still befalls them. Even now There are MANY countries that would love to scatter the Jews to the four winds or even destroy them utterly. I found this passage that would seem to confirm your position. Hebrews 8:10
  11. Under these circumstances I would first pray for guidance. If then you are not given to any revalations I would ask each of them "why now are you so distant?". Proverbs 3:3
  12. Matthew 19:26
  13. I personally would prefer the ones with John 3:16 on them. I think we need to read that verse every day. We need all the reminders we can get of his sacrifice for us and how much he loves us. Makes me think of when your watching a program where a child is fussing about eating his carrots or something. The childs mother would scold him and say that he should "clean his plate". Only now do we understand that there ARE millions of people who would love to eat those carrots. Even if you don't want, need or like them, eat them for the sake of those who can only wish they had them. Humility and Thanksgiving are GIFTS. We should be even more thankful when we can see how humble we should be.
  14. This reminds me of a service our Pastor gave a month or so back. I forget the passages now but he said we should all have a song in our hearts. It doesn't matter the song but you always notice when you hear a tune and can't seem to get it out of your head. He then reminded us of how powerfull song can be in the service of our Lord. 1 Samuel 16:23
  15. I am not very interested in the "modern" concept of Israel. My first question to you would be, where in the Holy Bible does God make a covenant with the American Indians that the Americas would be theirs forever? I tried to read the article you posted but when I made it through the first three paragraphs without any scriptural reference I could see where it was going. Without any biblical references I cannot accept anyones claims annulling any of Gods' covenants. The first was with Abram who was now Abraham. Genesis 15:18
  16. God gave that land to Israel long before the Arabs were there. God punished Israel by scattering them to live in servitude to the Gentiles. Israel may not have been present in their land, but that does not negate the fact that it is their land. As I understand it, the Palestines had nearly abandoned the land and it was barren and desolate. It wasn't until Israel began to return to the land the the Palestines also began to return. I am told that Israel began to prosper in the land again and the Palestines came back to the land for work. So, the Palestines are not the indigenous people but rather, the Israelis are. Yes, it is not only Gods' will, but it is his PLAN to return Israel to the land they have been promised. The same covenant was made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that this land was a gift to them and their seed for all time. Gods plan for the land is shown to us in Ezekiel I believe.
  17. Seems pretty clear to me.
  18. 11) Faith 12) Witnessing
  19. Strange. I didn't know California was in Canada. Just wait and watch brothers and sisters. The Tsunami was just a tap on the shoulder for Muslim countries. When Palestine and Israel sign a peace treaty you will be able to mark your calander to what will be happening next. For three and a half years we will be evangelizing freaks and for this we will be persecuted, perhaps even hunted. Faith is our blanket, love is our language, The Word of God is our food and oh how we shall weep.
  20. Well Eadora. Looks like these guys have it all figured out. We should just ignore poverty since its really the fault of those, in poverty, in the first place. If they really wanted to make a better living they should be working 60, 80, 100 hours a week as long as it gets the job done. We can now rest assured that every company in the U.S. has their employees well being in mind and that as long as it doesnt effect the bottom line they will pay their employees enough to live on. I am sure If any of their children get shot or stabbed or something, they always have the charity hospital. If their hours get cut because buisiness is slow they will always have food stamps. If they become disabled outside of work for any reason you can be sure the govenment will pick up the tab with welfare checks. All jesting aside, it could be worse for them I suppose. But isn't it our duty to look out for those who can't look out for themselves? How can we help if we don't have hope that things could be improved? My hope is in Jesus Christ and that with his guidence we will be able to make a difference for his names sake.
  21. I think Eadora is more than one person, hense your comment applies to me as well. Please try to be more specific with your attacks or better yet, don't attack people at all. This is a faith based discussion is it not?
  22. Yes. If the minimum wage went up inflation would eventually surpass it yet again. I think thats why we call it a LIVING WAGE. A wage that keeps pace with inflation rather than constantly overshadowed by it. Ignoring the problem will not make it go away. If raising the federal minimum wage is not the answer than what is? Have the federal government force the states to make increases based on the inflation index and cost of living? That would indeed be better yet you guys are now insisting that we should ignore poverty because........because why? Just go ahead an tell me " if you care about the poor so much then knock yourself out".
  23. Care to tell me who has lied to or about you? Have I insulted you in any way? Have I called you one name or threatened you? So far I have done nothing but offer my opinion and information that coroborates it. However there are those among you whose pride has caused them to stumble. Those whose opinion means more to them than a peacefull debate, would rather hurl insults rather than presenting facts. I still hear nothing more than you are wrong and I am right. Leave the poor as they are. If we pay them more, then the world will come to an end, and they will be no better off than before, because I say so. (facts anyone?) Please show us some data or at least an article or two of someone elses opinion. Your arguments are not only futile but insulting when all you can do is say we are wrong rather than PROVING IT only to follow up comments with negative remarks. I ask questions to have them answered. If you are so much more knowledgable, have more common sense, and twice as holy, then please SHOW me.
  24. Somehow this part of my post yesterday did not take. Nevertheless here is an even bigger burger. :-) http://www.dietpower.com/phweb0904.htm
