  1. I would say that Americans have become complacent and apathetic towards sin. Sin is so prevalent these days that one would be hard set to spot them all. Still, I have my hands full dealing with my own sinful nature to spend any siginificant amount of time worrying about the sins of others. I don't have merely a plank in my eye, I have an outhouse!
  2. I personally don't find tatoos to be attractive. There was one, however, on the girl in the movie "The Crow" that I found attractive. She had feathered wings tatooed on her shoulder blades. I forget what color, but they were very cool, very original to me. I don't mind pierced ears or perhaps tongues but that would be about it. Scars made by burning or cutting are especially unatractive to me since they involve a certain degree of self mutilation. The bodies God gave us are far more beautiful without altering them. As for being a sin I don't believe they are.
  3. Personally I'm not concerned about legality or international aproval of their actions. They have the right and the obligation to protect their citizens from harm. The debate ends there. As long as the Palestinians allow and encourage violence against Israelis they can expect the favor to be returned largely amplified. The thing the international community seems to misunderstand is the "disproportionate" responses. They are intended to discourage further violence and so they will continue to answer attacks with even larger operations.
  4. Thats so sad. It's bad enough that, like Indonesia, they would outlaw public preaching but to arrest them just for teaching the gospel is pure hatred. I know of nothing in the gospel that would impinge on the communist ideal. One can only surmise that the current "communist" regimes are closer to being totalitarian than the utopian society that was intended.
  5. It does exist.
  6. The flow of this thread has been very inspirational. One would think, at first glance, that Christianity had split at the seams by the divisions resulting from differences in doctrines. Lets assume for a moment that these differences serve a purpose, knowing that each of us, relative to our doctrine, serves a different purpose in the body. Perhaps then, so too do the different denominations each serve a unique role in the body. Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another We should understand that as we sharpen one another there is friction and even sparks. The friction is an integral part of sharpening and so we must not fear it, but expect it. How else can we grow?
  7. Though I am a cat lover I can apreciate their dilemma. I respect their policy on humanely putting them down rather than hunting them down. At first its what I was expecting, especially in a town of 200. I have to admit though, I love a good story about a cat getting the better of a dog. You'll never hear stories about how a domestic cat killed the neigbors dog, but one can be certain that the reverse has happened countless times. I guess in this case, I always root for the undercat.
  8. Perhaps then you can enlighten me as to HOW this disproves Intelligent Design.
  9. I think the newsbot beat you to the punch. Worthybot thread
  10. Tell me what you found "silly" about my comment. I've read the entire article, with exception to the blather about his career, and find nothing to convince me that ID has been somehow disproven. Am I to assume that you believe it has?
  11. Matthew 19:24 "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
  12. So they think he has found proof that the receptors for hormones evolved? Talk about arrogant. Male and female have existed since before recorded history and this scientist is supposed to be able to tell us how and when this occured? Paleeze.
  13. I forgot to look this morning but did fuel prices jump again over night? Oil prices could drop 25 dollars a barrel over night and it would take weeks for the fuel prices to do the same. I can't help but wonder if the windfall tax isn't a bad idea. Some make it out to look like the oil producers would pass the losses down to the consumer, as if the oil companies will insist on such a high profit margin. I'm inclined to disagree.
  14. Sometimes I think we underestimate or devalue the rest of Gods creations simply because they were not made in His image. There should be no question that he knew what he was doing. I think it would be nice to converse with creatures other than humans and hear their perspective on things.
  15. This is how they wind up shifting blame is by shifting responsibility. They fire rockets into Israel so Israel gets fed up and orders a blockade. Shortly after they tell Israel they must end the blockade before they will stop firing rockets. It's sheer manipulation and the problem is the rest of the world doesn't seem to be catching on.
  16. Whats really a shame is that the automobile industry has gone almost 30 years without even trying to improve fuel efficiency. Had they done so, the price of fuel would not be an issue. The U.S. auto makers are now paying the price for their greed and short sitedness. Instead of efficiency they have been focused on luxury and have been designing larger and more flashy vehicles and the American public has been eating it up. We as a society are paying for our own arrogance. Europe has had to adapt to their fuel prices and you would think we would have learned from their example. Sadly, it takes monumental events to wake our citizens from their daydreams and remind them how dangerous complacency really is.
  17. It just keeps going up. Yesterday was 5 cents higher than the day before and today was 4 cents higher than that. I'm hoping the stock market boost will cause the increase to stall.
  18. Not long ago I saw the footage of Bagdad with tracers everywhere and only one brought down in their history? Pretty good record.
  19. Just when I thought he was a lost cause.
  20. My question would be, who is my brother? Is it my brother in Christ or any other human male?
  21. Interesting how Hizbullah AND Syria seemed to work in syncronus to arm themselvess.
  22. Won't be long before the prophesy about Damascus comes true. I believe "uninhabitable" is the word used in the bible.
