It's almost funny. Just as Obama discovered he will no longer be coddled by the press he finds his rhetoric of change and hope are not going to be enough. One has to wonder how many more times he will be running late before he realises that the hordes of zombies he has been cheered on are not the ones he needs to convince that he is the candidate of choice. Perhaps he will begin to act like a Presidential candidate and come down out of the clouds and stop playing at being a rock star. It actually looked like he was beginning to believe all the hype but this should get his attention.

As If Abbas has any influence anymore. He is little more than a political figurehead as long as Hamas ignores him. The thing that many people overlook is that the Palestinians voted Hamas in and so they should be made to regret that decision since it is Hamas that is hindering efforts towards peace. I find it hard to sympathise with the Palestinians when they encourage violence and resist peace as displayed by their honoring of dead militants and tolerance of television programs that indoctrinate children to hatred. These are clear signs of a people AND government that want no part in peace.

The child wasn't killed by his parents. A man reportedly held a knife to the throat of his 15-month-old nephew and decapitated him in front of his mother in a Saudi Arabian supermarket. My bad. Still, It most likely was some sort of honor killing. Perhaps he killed the child because the mother had spoken to another man on the day the child was conceived or something. For people who seem to prise honor so highly they sure do some rather dishonorable and heartless things.

Are you saying that men who agree with the Bible, especially the verses that have been quoted, have week constitutions and lack humility? Why do you assume we take these positions because we are threatened? Have you not noticed that better than half of the posts in this thread are by women? Please tell me what the Church of the United States is and how it's egos have been so bruised that they have become arogant and prideful. Since you seem to know all about Gods call, please be kind enough to share with us your wisdom and any scripture that would show our interpretations to be in error so we might avoid teaching false doctrine.

See, there's the problem in that one sentence in bold. It's why politics makes me sick and it's why I believe that Carl Rove crawls on his belly. The candidates, most of them, think just like you do, Butero. It's all about throwing dirt and tearing people down; nothing about being the better candidate. Just being the better gutter fighter. Another thing I like about Mike Huckabee.....he wouldn't use someone like Rove. But he was happy to use Chuck Norris, I'm sorry to say. Besides, as soon as the democrats take the first swing, and you know they will, it's gloves off. We've already seen what happens when you suck it up and play fair. Democrats would go for the jugular and then write a book about it. Politics has practically become a new sport not unlike reality tv.

I thinks odds are that MOST republicans are laying low, confident that McCain has the nomination in the bag. I know in my state of Louisiana, republicans are only allowing republicans to cast votes, where as the democrats are allowing everyone BUT republicans to cast votes. Republicans are/were being certain that noone is alowed to muddy the results.
-
Lets not forget her crying episodes. Neither one is fit to LEAD this nation.
-
I think the democrats will be in for a surprise when the nominations are finally decided. For all intents and purposes, the republicans are in standby mode and are simply watching the fray. It would be nothing more than wishfull thinking to asume the democratic candidate will have a commanding lead in the primaries before their running mates have even been chosen. With so much time on their hands you can be certain that the republicans have had plenty of time to stock their arsenal. Meanwhile the democratic candidates have spent considerable time and resources battling each other. You can bet that the republicans, despite their disenfrachisement, will be out in force this winter to prevent a liberal from becomming president.

An Exegesis of 1 Timothy 2:12-15 Timothy 2:12 once more Perhaps this may shed some light on the subject. This was also an interesting read. Titus2women

Perhaps I am reading it wrong but the verse you quoted doesn't seem to contradict what the other verses in question have said about leadership or teaching. This verse tells us, from what I am reading, that as far as the "promise" goes, Jesus does not differentiate as long as you have been baptised.
-
You said it in a nutshell. There are some who pick and choose which teachings they will adhere to and throw the rest out because they do not mesh with their perviews. There are other "churches" that are dismissive of homosexuality and others abortion and so on. All I can say is that the wolves in sheeps clothing often have the loudest voices and those people who are not well versed are easily swayed and misled. Satan has been hard at work for a very long time creating discention among the ranks of Gods children. Even so, he is unwittingly helping God to separate the wheat from the chaf. We must remain vigilant in pointing out mis interpretations and deviations from scripture by those claiming to represent and/or follow Christ Jesus.
-
Hardly surprising these days, especially considering the man was almost certainly muslim. It's sad that so many children are dying at the hands of their own parents.
-
Under the circumstances I don't see where it matters who is more faithful. The fact remains that Obama supports abortion, partial birth or otherways, as well as being sympathetic to the homosexual plight/agenda. Neither are in keeping with scripture and beg to question the faith of those who profess Christ as their saviour. These "positions" have nothing to do with the religion of his father but about his personal beliefs which are not in keeping with biblical teaching. We also have to consider the positions and teachings of his church and pastor who are, as some have claimed, Afrocentric.

The same movement that is causing some churches to divest in Israel, embrace homosexuality and that allows women to take the position of priest? The same movement that teaches that you should recite the prayer of Jabez for personal gain?

caught on tape: More deputies brutally beating inmate
O'Dannyboy replied to buckthesystem's topic in U.S. News
Perhaps I am wrong but these are convicted criminals right? If it turned out that these inmates were imprisoned after they caused the deaths of several people in a high speed chase which resulted in the inmates own injuries, how would you feel then? What happened to hard labor or let the punishment fit the crime? While I don't believe that guards should be beating or abusing prisoners I also don't want prisoners to have it easy working out, watching tv or playing cards all day. It's not enough just to keep them locked up. They need to be punished, not just isolated. -
I think it's naive to think that Bill has any say in whether or not she can do anything. If he is acting as an advisor it would still be her decission.

What experience would that be? 8 Years as First lady? Surely you must concede that McCain has the most experience. He has been in the Senate as long if not longer and he has military experience that makes him the preferable candidate to be Commander in Cheif of our military. im actually for McCain. i just used my vote to get Hill over the primaries. Gotcha. -
Considering this wouldn't she be the easier of the two democratic candidates to beat in the general election?

Perhaps their being so close will finally bring them to Darfur. -
Thanks to pressure the the U.S.. Meanwhile Hamas is playing it off as some sort of victory. If Israel eases up on the blocade and the missiles still rain down then they have that much more leverage with the world community showing them AGAIN that the Palestinians only give lip service to peace and continue to accuse Israel as being the agressor when it's the other way around.

He considers Iran to be the worlds leading superpower so wouldn't that mean that they too must leave the region? He also claims that the Iraqi people don't like Americans despite all the video footage to the contrary. He also, inadvertantly, praised the U.S. and it's allies by hailing and sounding his aproval for a dictatorless Iraq.
