Thanks for the advice folks. While I was at the store last night I did notice dressing with much fewer calories than I was expecting. I did try a chili sauce for hot dogs on my salad last night. It was very good, except that I put it on the lettuce while it was hot. The lettuce was not as crisp as I would have liked. I have noticed that a low calorie diet, by itself, is not going to do the trick. I took the advice and bought a few salad spices and will try them soon. I also picked up a bottle of mild picante sauce which I will try tonight. At 5 calories per 2 Tbsp I think it will turn out to be a good low cal topping. I am having a little trouble talking myself into going to the Gym for cardio so I am going to pick up a stair climber contraption today so I can excercise in front of the TV at home and watch what I want, unlike at the gym. I am hopefull with a little discpline It will prove to be just the boost I need to take some pounds off.

Ahh yes. I almost forgot about spices. I had considered that a day or so ago. Thanks for reminding me.

I am trying to loose 40 lbs by spring/summer. Lately I have found myself eating less fattening foods. I have even resorted to eating salads pretty regularly. Protein bars for breakfast, popcorn for snacks and salads for dinner are beginning to pay off. Lately I have begun to notice how many calories (especially fat calories) are in our beloved salad dressings. If you look at all the different brands they average about 70 calories per 2 Tbsp, which I find ridiculous. I like salad dressing and perhaps I may put too much on mine, but just think about how much dressing you put on yours. I would be willing to bet its more than two tablespoons full. When you finally add up the calories for the dressing alone you may as well have had that Big Mac. So, I find myself trying to find alternatives to the store bought dressings that I might find less fattening without sacrificing flavor. One thought I had was a can of chili, at 220 calories its not as bad as one might think. I have seen some web sites that recommended peanut butter, but that just didn't sound very tasty for dinner food. I also notice just today that SALSA, at only 5 calories per 2 Tbsp, might be a very good salad toping, perhaps to mix with some refried beans, who knows. Anyhow, I would like to know what you think of my ideas and would appreciate and suggestions for other potential low calorie toppings.

Worthy News: Iran Pres: West Sits in 'Ivory Towers' - Fox News

They don't have to play along with imposing sanctions as long as they mind their own buisness when Iranian facilities are destroyed. They can play nice with Iran all they want as long as they don't stand in the way of the rest of the world to prevent Iran from getting Nuclear weapons. Its not enough for Iran to have nuclear energy, they want/insist on controlling the complete fuel cycle including enrichment. Its the enrichment process that the world cannot allow them to control. So any enrichment facilities will ultimately have to be destroyed to ensure they cannot produce weapons grade material. Its very unlikey, even if the Iranians agree to let the Russians enrich their fuel, that they will agree to dismantle their enrichment facilities in Iran. Its looking more and more like military action is inevitable. Question is, will Russia and/or China remain silent about it as long as their oil supply goes uninterupted. -

I found this article on MSNBC.com. This may simply be smoke and mirrors on the part of Russia and China, but it offers a little hope. -
Worthy News: Rice: Iran Can't Have Nuclear Weapons Capability - Fo
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
One has to wonder if the EU3 are speaking for the entire EU. Were this the case I would think Iran might be a little more responsive. Even IF sanctions were ever imposed, who really thinks that they wont find a way around them? Just look at the oil for food scandal. The only way to prevent Iran from aquiring the ability to make their own nuclear bombs is to take away the tools/resources they would use to do it. The biggest obstacle in dealing with Iran the way they ought to be is the oil, plain and simple. -

I have to agree with the need to suspend all enrichment activities before negotiations can resume. That is the only way to be sure Iran is not stalling. Once they have a nuclear weapon it will be too late. They would then feel safe enough to do exactly what they accuse us of doing. I have to agree with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that there is little chance that any resolutions, for imposing sanctions on Iran, would ever make it passed the security council. Iran is too valuable and has too much in common with Russia and China. Russia and China will, no doubt, continue to push for further negotiations hoping to buy time for Iran. -
Someone should tell Bill O'reily about this. I would but I cannot find enough time to put any thought into what I would say. If we could only find a way to ensure that the White House staff was aware I am sure they would prevent this group from crashing the White Houses Easter events.

Its about time. The PA has aired at least two different anti-Israel commercials on the PA sponsored television without any punitive measures being taken. As long as the PA, or any organisations for that matter, sponsor terrorist activities and spread hatred they should not be recieving any monitary support. Another obvious misapropriation made by the PA has been grenade and missile launchers. A few months ago the PA security forces were nearly rioting because they didn't have enough bullets, and now they are smuggling in RPG's.

Worthy News: Iran Bars CNN Over Translation of Remarks - ABC News
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
How many differemt ways can someone day "the holocost never happened"? So the Iranian president didn't really say Israel "should be wiped off the map"? They just want CNN to stop reporting the truth. I guess since the Iranian government can't shut their president up they will have to do the next best thing by sensoring the world media as well. I can imagine the Iranian government telling CNN "if you wan't to stay in Iran you will report what we tell you to report." I guess for some news agencies half the truth is still better than no story at all. -
I was just doing a search to find out how long a "life" sentence is and bumped into a page that said that the average inmate costs the U.S. government (a.k.a taxpayers) $22,000 a year. Do you realise that is above poverty level for a single person? And the prison populations continue to grow while the sentences are shortened due to overcrowding. Jail time just isn't enough of a deterant anymore. There are probably more children dying as a result of beatings today than before the Federal government stepped in to control child abuse.

Here is the article. So after fighting the court decission he will inevitably face murder charges. No doubt this man will get what he deserves for this. Even if the girl doesn't die, it should be at least 20 years in prison for beating a child so severely. They should force him to look at a picture of her every day all day long for as long as he is in prison. Tattoo a picture of her on his forehead or something. Brand her name on his palms. Our judicial system is entirely too soft on violent criminals. They need to find punishments other than three square meals and a place to sleep out of the rain. How many years do you get for murder these days? 30 years? Pitiful.

I think quite a few articles regarding his statements would have been worded differently.

Israel withdrawal from West Bank?
O'Dannyboy replied to boblandis's topic in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
Considering the fruits of the withdrawl from Gaza, or lack thereof, I cannot see Israel agreeing to any more withdrawls untill ALL attacks on Israelis have ended. I for one would fight to keep Jeruselem from becomming part of ANY muslim state. -

He is right about this, its unavoidable. According to the 2002 census 55% of the population in the south is Black. It would make scense that New Orleans would be predominantly black especially considering the largest percentage of black people live in metropolitan areas. I would however question statements like this. Black and white do not make "chocolate" as he puts it and what he meant is obvious. New Orleans would definatley not be the same without a large black population, but in light of the circumstances, its not likely to ever be the same. Considering the day and to whom he was speaking, it is glaringly obvious what he meant to say.

Worthy News: Big Security Council Members Agree on Iran - ABC News
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Neither Russia or China want to see Iran facing sanctions. We can presume that Iran is not presently in posession of any nuclear weapons if Russia and China are stalling. Iran must be insisting on being able to build their own rather than purchasing them from other nations. At this point, its all a matter of when. Once Iran is capable of producing nuclear weapons, they will inevitably stockpile them in preparation to bring down Israel at all costs. Any nations that understand this would support any efforts to prevent Iran from achieving its goals with regard to nuclear power. God help us if they (Iran) should become capable of producing nuclear weapons. Considering Irans lack of consideration for world opinion, statements made by its leaders, and its disregard of treaties and international agreements, there is little doubt about their intentions. I am in agreement with the EU3 and U.S. government that it is now Irans duty to show its sincerity and proove that its intentions are peacefull. I believe that sufficient effort has been made to accomdate Iran in its search for Nuclear energy. It appears that the major contention in this issue is the fuel cycle which Iran insists on controlling. This cannot be permitted for the sake of world peace. I, for one, will support any efforts to prevent Iran from becoming capable of producing nuclear weapons. -
Hal Lindsey proclaims: Islam a violent religion
O'Dannyboy replied to boblandis's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
Since the break-up of the Soviet Union most people have come to discount Russia as having any impact or influence anymore. The truth is they are still selling weapons and technologies to rogue states as well as aligning themselves with nations such as Iran and Syria which openly support terrorism. In fact, if you did a study of every place on earth where there is war and conflict (such as the Sudan), you would likely find mostly Russian made weapons. Chances are more likely that Russia is an agent of the Anti-christ than not. Though most of us, here at Worthy Boards, are aware how dangerous Islam is, I find myself wondering what percentage of the worlds population is even concerned about Islam. These days, when someone says Islam is violent, my first thought is "Duh!". But, I bet, if you polled people in New York City, less than half would even know that the terrorists that destroyed the towers were Muslims. I appreciate Hal for stepping up and sharing the truth even if it is stating stating the obvious. Chances are he, like many others, will be shrugged off as another Christian fundamentalist. Edit* someone moved or deleted the thread I meant to put this comment in. Ignore any of my statements that do not coincide with this particular thread. -
I don't think this article is entirely accurate. If anyone could provide a link to any footage of Mayor Nagins comments it would be apreciated. This article written by CNN offers a little more info regarding his statements and remarks from his interview after.

Somehow I don't see where keeping the American people in the dark about Iraq would do any good. This administration has enough troubles without the rest of the world saying we are clueless and lagging behind on current events. This administration/government knows full well what is going on at it is more likely that our news agencies are not giving some events/news the publicity needed. But I don't think anyone here can accuse American news agencies of risking anything to bring us the truth. These days the news is not about news, but ratings instead.

Brokeback Mountain Review
O'Dannyboy replied to Marnie's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
I am heart broken that such a movie is even tolerated but this is only the beginning. Every day our nation become more like Sodom and Gamorah. We are definately in the end times. Every day I witness things like this I die a little more inside. These days I welcome death and would prefer it to having to watch mankind not only turn their back on God, but effectivly flipping him off. -
You dont suppose the is the "buying and selling" they were refering to do you? If so then how do these wind up on our foreheads?
