I believe "apostasy" should be read in as close to the common-sense meaning as possible. It's not a hidden code or secret message about any specific church or belief or doctrine. It's a more fundamental, basic move away from godly concerns. When people put priority on something other than the things that come from God, they are guilty of apostasy - falling away from God. And it's when most people fall away from God that we come closest to the Tribulation.

What a lovely idea - I wish there was more of this out in the world. It's good to remember why the Samaritans were called "Good" - because no one expected them to be!

That's very interesting research. I often look at the stars at night and ask for God's guidance - I believe people always have done that throughout history.
