I wrote a letter once to CBS about a gay themed program they Wrote back if you don't like it don't watch we are tired of all of your groups christian opinions Well if being a christian is a group I stand convicted guess they don't care what christians think l I no longer even watch CBS infact the most I watch now is the news and Boston Legal once and awhile And Boy Meets World on the disney Channel as I have always liked that show and find nothing wrong with it and think it was great that the writers even had the char. wait till they were married to fool around to me that is a principal I can appreciate. Seems the writer of the show is was actually a christian ......... I can't read romance novels I find them so yucky and so not real I love to read thow and so have to be careful what I do get Not into science fiction either guess I have enough trouble dealing with the real world don't need to try to figuree out the pretend world I love my PBS King Henry and Queen Eliz. series the old ones not the new ones had to buy them but the are fun to watch and I like that period in history when the church was changing and growing and Martin Leuther made a differnece in the world There is just so much garbage on TV now that It seems a wast to even have satallite TV but I do use it for the music I like the classical and the oldies and even the oldies is starting to now sound so good any more I find myslef listening to the lerics and think boy what a song Many Christians love Country music I do not but to each is own (I grew up listening to country music as it was the only music allowed in our home so I know that the music can been fun to listen to ) In Christ IreneM

it boils down to honesty and integraty If they are honest they will give you your money back If they have integraty in business they will give it back if they are making so much money and don't care about one persons feeling or opinions they wont give it back In Christ IreneM

I loved married with children for a long time will not watch the reruns now as I realize just how smutty they are The Lord opened my eyes to it and it broke my heat that I had watched this show for so long I have been condemmend for not watching the Lion the witch and the wardrobe because it has a christian theme underneath it I was juding it by its title well I still will not watch it . I don't read romance novels but do love biographys christian fiction and some suspense and reading is a joy to me but I have to be careful what books I do read. Did I read the DaVinci Code yes but only for one reason so that I could answer questions my neighbor ask about it did I like the book NO did I pray before reading it YES !!! I think the Lord does care what we read and what we watch on TV and what movies we go to In Christ IreneM

I have a christian friend who watches buffy the vampier slayer and ses nothing wrong with it alot of chrisitans go to see fantasy movies or read fantasy books I have been angry at most of what is on the TV and at the movies theaters for a long time and I don't see how christians can say it is ok because they know it is only pretend or not real or what ever We as christians need to take a stand and say no I won't watch that show because of content or read that book because it deals with unscriptual things look how many parents let their kids read harry potter because James Dobson said it was ok !! Even in here I have read where some alot as a matter of fact have been to movies that no christian should go see yet they see nothing wrong with it at all because as they say they know it is not real or deep down it has a christian theme to it Am I so out of tune with things that I stand on a soap box that is crumbleing ?? if anyone choses to shop at wal mark fine that is their business I for one will not shop at any store that openly supports gays if I know a store does this I will not shop there as for that other tripe posted I will not digify that with an answer to go that far out in left field is just plain stupid I can't tell who built my car but I can find out what orginazations support the gay agenda and I will not shop there I will not support some one else giveing them money for their life style and When I stand before God HE will tell me if it I wrong or not and if I am so be it In Christ IreneM

there is a union rep taking liscence plate numbers at wal mart and if you shop there you could be fined by the union up to and including 500 $ so no I will not shop at wal mart and I will not shop where I KNOW some one supports the homosexual agenda!! you know if the churches today offered the real Gospel instead of all this physco babble maybe the people searching would find the answers they need there is no more preaching of the Cross and sin and repentence everthing is feel good the devil made me do it purpose driven undocumented meric. dishonest televangelest greed positive confession name it claim it etc where is the real gospel being preached??? = in very few churches itching ears make the real gospel of no importance lets get real and realize that the True gospel is no longer being preached it has been handed over to loud rock music false teachings feel good messages and mega churches that have no real touch with the people I go to a small church and love it I know everyone and the preacher does not jump on all the bandwagons going threw It took me a long time to find this chruch but I am greatful that I did He calls sin sin and Preaches the Cross and repentence and thow we dissagree in one area it is minor !!! I thought of many ways to answer this but will only say this my husband is union and that means alot Wal Mart gave over 250,000 to the gay and lebisan cause last year those 2 reasons alone will stop me from shopping at wal mart In Christ IreneM

we have a chicken plant here all are mexican except for supervisory not one white person works on the line they won't hire them for some reason hope they bust the place soon as most are not here legally we are to have compassion for them let them stay etc no they broke the law and we pay for it every time they go to a hospital when we have to get theachers to teach them in spanish because they don't have to learn english they commit more crimes then any other group accotding to immigration watch group I should not have to press one on the phone to hear something in english sorry but come here legally !!! I don't understand playing these vidoe games expecially the violent ones tha even christians play but I can unerstand wanting to play on line if you like to chat with people or meet friends there ect. To play where it costs you money No way I don't believe that the Lord would begrudge us friendship and doing things we enjoy nor do I think He expects us to spend every extra moment we have in His Word (I may be wrong on that) As long as we have a prayer life and a study time and as long as we depend on the Lord I see nothing wrong with finding things we enjoy doing. I love to read (no romance novels for me ) and that is a way for me to relax and enjoy some quiet time so games on line sure why not as long as you are not gambeling with real money In Christ IreneM

should christians play on line games as long as it is tokens and no money won or lost A friend of mine says it is wrong if you have time to play games on line you have time to be in God's Word I never thought about it before but then im not in to alot of games anyway In Christ IreneM

Free gift and the price paid for our sins on the Cross I don't need to keep paying the price for my sins be it for lent or any other time I don't need lent to draw me closer to the Lord and I don't need a tradition to know what the Lord did for me If some of you think that I did not show Grace in my response please remember this I was brought up catholic and still have nightmares so I may be a bit harsh on tradition verses doctrine Sorry In Christ IreneM

to give some thing up for Lent should be a personal choice I personally do not beleive in the concept but thats ok I am not a catholic any more Is some one does it do it for the right reasons not just becuase the chruch told you to is all Im saying There are man made traditions that are not scriptual but do benifit a christian there are man made traditions that do not you be your own personal judge on this but remember not all believe in it and not all will not do it Yes the Catholic chrurch thinks it is the one true chruch but Pope Paul said muslems would go to heaven becuase they worship the same God (I do not agree with that) so remember it is a man made tradition not a God ordered requierment In Christ IreneM

Doctrine and tradition are TWO differnt things Lent is not scriptual there fore not required except by the catholic church If you want to do it go ahead but don't try to convince everyone else that it is something that we need to do to get closer to the Lord or to repent more deeply or suffer for our sins (The price was paid for those 2000 years ago) and I will not motrify my self it is not scriptual in fact it is prohibited and if I could remmber where it is found I would quote it Yes you have the right to do it if that is what you wish to do, but to do it becuase it is required by man is unscriptual and not required in Gods Word God Bless you if you feel the need If we keep a daily relationship with the Lord we need not worry about it In Christ IreneM

nope It is a catholic rite not a biblical one sacrificing something when the sacrifice was made 2000 years ago ? We are saved by grace not by works and it was a free gift We do not have to suffer in this life to enjoy the next Yes we can pray and fast but we should do it so that no one knows we are doing it In Christ IreneM

a small act of kindness goes a long way it can make a persons day to have some one just be kind to them even if it is a little thing I try to be kind to all but my secret kindness is the homeless shelter we give them alot during the year they do not know our names and we do not get receipts from them for tax purposes we just do it In Christ IreneM
