  1. Ok, I agree! I do not think it necessary to have everyone pray the same prayer as is often put forth to people to pray. I think that God hears our intent and takes it from there.
  2. You do not think he was just coming to God for salvation but rather asking forgiveness for simply being a sinner? I am not sure I am reading this as you intend it.
  3. Hi sammm, welcome to the Worthy forums. Losing you job that you loved has had an effect on you. This is the case with many people today, some of which post here. When we lose something we care about we often go through a grieving process, and is not unusual. This is part of what I think I am reading in what you say. For Christians who know the Bible and can read the signs of today there is cause for both some apprehension and more joy. We need to realize that the upcoming difficult times are designed by our Father to help bring many to Jesus. http://bible.cc/2_corinthians/1-4.htm
  4. Thank you Leonard. Pat you may suit yourself, however sticking our head in the sand will not stop what is already here.
  5. Pat that is not their way of doing things. They hide their mischief from you and you never know it is there. Westerners have the cowboy mentality which is not something they aspire to. Some years ago a muslim woman was quoted in a write up in the papers that their intent is to do exactly as other one said. They have now infiltrated our offices of various governments. So a search, you will find it.

    The Word of God

To quote Butero, " Jesus is the Word in that the Word reveals who he is." This is a bit of what I meant in quoting that "we have the mind of Christ" from Corinthians. The Bible teaches us what Jesus/God was thinking and was given by divine revelation.

  8. Good post sevenseas, thanks for your insight
  9. Perhaps this is a part of the falling away forestormx. There are many things that we will cease to do in the act of falling away and this attitude is most likely a part of it.

    The Word of God

It is the foundation from which The Holy Spirit makes The Lord Jesus to live in our hearts so that having not seen we believe, having personal Spiritual Knowledge so that when we look Him in The Eye we shall know Him even as we are known.... Love, Steven Great answer Steven!

    The Word of God

Please stay on topic here. This is my original question: John 1:1-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14-And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. If Jesus is the Word, what is the Bible? OneLight, you are correct in this; We become what we take in, physically, mentally and spiritually.

    The Word of God

My thought 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
  14. I was surprised that a man with the fortitude of his convictions to come to the forefront. His courage shows what a lack we have in everyone else up there. We should be ashamed of ourselves for the people we have elected into office. If we are not punished for electing that bunch - well frankly, I think we are being punished and it shows up in every level of our lives if we just give it some thought.
  15. Yes, I can see that you do. If you have days where you can see a ray of hope and deliverance you have made some progress. Hang on to that and know that God is working on your behalf. If He gives you something to say to your husband, maybe a kindness say it and move on, or of he does the smallest thing tell him thank you. We all have to start some place and it is often in the simple things that changes begin. I pray that our Father will surround in His love today!
  16. http://bible.cc/1_corinthians/7-16.htm This is a verse of significance for both of you. It is most difficult to endure while we are hurting, but when it is God working in us it is always worth our effort. Just move forward and ask Him to change you and the way you see Him and help you to grow in Him. I have read the testimony of many women who have gone through a situation like yours, and the changes God affects in them always leads to the husband seeing them in a different light. Father, I pray that you grace this dear lady and help her to cling to you in this, her times of need. Help her to grow in your grace and petition you to change her into that soul you designed her to be. Heal her wounds and help her to be forgiving. I pray likewise for her husband. Woo him with your Holy Spirit that he might come to know you on a personal basis and not just know about you, for Christ's sake. Bring about the circumstance that changes hearts in this family.
  17. It sounds to me that you are getting a grip on some of what has been said here and that is good. If you husband was abused in his past that may well play a part in what he has become in his life. Should this be the case he needs to embrace forgiveness to those who hurt him and let it go. Our Father, who loves you beyond belief sees and knows all the woes between the two of you. Many men find it difficult to expose the hurts they have endured because often it leads to them breaking down and crying and they see that as a weakness. It is not weak, it is the beginning of a life of relief and freedom in Him, if they will allow God to work in them. I pray that your husband will seek the help he needs whether from our Father directly or through counseling. God loves each of us enough to give His Son as a sacrifice for us. That love is huge. While I was typing I saw a notice that another post had been logged, so we were posting at the same time.

  19. http://www.wnd.com/2...yahu-this-much/ I didn't know which forum to post this in, world news, US news of the prayer forum! Mr. Evans is a person who has put much effort into helping Israel, and I respect his judgment. With the US directly and actively meddling in Israel, we, as a nation stand to be severely punished. Because of this please pray as best you know how. There are so many people who refuse to recognize that the Bible speaks truth and that we are living in precarious times, many thinking the Bible is a joke.
