  1. I think I saw this pastor on Zola Levitt programming. Very sad but he is courageous.
  2. It is sad to read about Liam Neeson. I remember him most of all as Oskar Schindler in "Schindler's List". Seems so incongruous to me. Anyway, I am not sure if he really is that dedicated to convert to Islam. I do have to admit some of the Islamic archtectiture can be very nice to look at from an artistic perspective. I get the sense that he is in another country where it is almost exotic to be in an Islamic area with that forced emphasis of the bells and the prayers daily. He has to realize they do not have the option NOT to participate. It is part of their culture and tradition in a religious sense. He has to realize those things should not be confused with the actual teachings and tenets of the Qu'ran. I do not see any real commitment driving him to convert to Islam. I remember when Natasha Richardson died. He did seem to be very affected by her death and I think that may be a factor in why he seems to be a seeker. He mentions reading books on God and atheism. He is looking. I pray he looks in the right direction and finds the truth. Islam is not it.
  3. No, that is not what I said. Specifically I said the terms are not necessarily inclusive. As I said before, Julia may be an atheist, etc. but claiming that all humanists must be like that, or that all who hold her political/economic views hold a similar philosophy is a bad analogy akin to making a strawman argument. Then, it would not be "incorrect" to call her as such.
  4. I thought I'd ask Him what He things about our Christmas celebrations. I can't say I was expecting to 'hear" an answer; I don't seem to be able to hear from Him so well as some others I know. But surprisingly, a thought mixed with a feeling came to me, "I just want to be remembered." Aw, Nebula. I don't feel "convicted" about celebrating Christmas either but I do emphasize we celebrate the fact that He was born for a purpose to be our Savior and Messiah. We give gifts because God gave the greatest gift which is Yeshua, His Beloved Son. That is what Christ-mas is all about: celebration of Christ's birth. All the other "stuff" during Christmas is just that... "stuff". I don't even mind gifts or lack of gifts for myself. A lot of the traditions come from Germany. There are other traditions that aren't celebrated widely in the U.S. when it comes to Christmas but you may see those in some Western European countries. Just my 2 cents in.
  5. That is actually a good idea to memorize parts of Scripture at a time. It helps us to focus on what we're memorizing. I did Philippians 4:19 few years ago- it just stuck into me. It came in "handy" (not sure if I like this phrase but can't think of anything better to describe it) when a situation occured and the Lord saw me though it.
  6. I see- So, it is literally impossible for Gillard to be an atheist humanist?
  7. And how is this part of her "job description" ? It isn't. Never cared that much for the woman in the first place.
  8. http://www.weeklysta...ity_610874.html These folks are shameless in their attempt to deceive. National Security?
  9. Well, I use freshly dried sage leaves very often in my cooking along with dried basil or lemon-basil leaves. We have huge rosemary bush in the backyard garden. I often sneak in some cinnamon in my baking. Nice to know they are good to use! lol.
  10. More: http://dailycaller.com/2011/10/11/michelle-obamas-warning-to-gun-owners/ This will affect 2nd. Amendment rights, perhaps forever? "brilliant" may be subjective, I think, in her opinion of the judges her husband picked.
  11. Against the tide neb. Some people would claim that all these people that Obama is tied to don't even live on the same planet he does so there is no way he could know them. So, there really is life on Mars? Sorry- Just had to say it... lol.
  12. I think it probably had more to do with the fact that he was going to take a bath on the sales of carbon credits. That too.
  13. You are misreading his responses. Luftwaffle is showing how this event completely collapses the pro-abortion camp's attempt to dehumanize the unborn. Uh- that is kind of what I meant.
  14. I was referring to the hypothetical arguments you presented and they all seem to lean toward a sliding slope of relativism and those arguments doesn't quite work for abortion especially if one is so inclined to define abortion purely from a disassociated point of view. Hope you get the connection now.
  15. Oh yeah. I was on a board that discussed Global Warming. I'm kind of burnt out on that topic but I don't hold it in high regard. There was an article somewhere before that I think I saw about NASA documents showing there wasn't much to Global Warming as stated. Al Gore had a cussing fit about the global warming deniers in a public speech at some event. Obviously, he was very angry he wasn't taken that seriously as a prophet of global warming doom.
  16. I realize this is kind of an oldie thread but I checked the website. Interesting. I probably liked the bright pink swim skirt and a matching tank top would do fine. I usually wear one piece and a shirt over unless the shirt impedes my swimming. I don't swim much these days but I do make my daughter wear one piece swimwear or at the least two full pieces like a tank top and a skirt or skort. She was on the swim team this past summer and all the kids wore regulation swimwear that was pretty modest for the girls.
  17. I have been thinking about this comment you made Forrest, in calling Herman Cain a clown. You could go to any tv station in America or any circus, draw lots between all the clowns and make one the GOP nominee, and I would vote for that person over Obama. They couldn't do any worse. If you could vote for someone worse than a clown, you could surely support a clown. I would compare Obama to a clown, but that would be insulting to clowns. I'm sorry but I had to LAUGH at the mental picture of the clowns huddled in a circle while someone push a clown and sticks on his head a hat with GOP nominee written on it.
  18. Actually, the nations who rage against Jerusalem and Israel really do have an "expiration date" as prophesied. If they really understood, they would not want to mess with God at all. They will get the shock of their lives.
  19. Thanks, candice and everybody who gets it. A state does not equal a full nation. Now, I'm done with this. What else to say? Not much.
  20. I am sure he is speaking of Hawaii, which is close to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is but one state.
  21. I know my body craves water if I don't drink enough. WHo are they fooling?
