The verses you quoted says.... And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. They claim to be Jesus Himself, not someone claiming to come in Jesus's name to do miracles and such.

Well, Charlie, it looks like you are not going to respond, so I will answer the question. Jews at the time of Daniel would have thought that Daniel was talking about when he first encounter Gabriel in Daniel 8, who informed Daniel that the prophecies and transgression of desolation vision involving the little horn are time of the end. The reason that is important to know is because when Gabriel begins to expand on the 70 weeks in Daniel 9:23-24, Gabriel says... 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. ------------------------------------ So Jews back in Daniel's day would know that the vision is the 2300 day long vision involving the daily sacrifice, it being stopped, and the transgression of desolation. So Jews back in Daniel's time could that reason that the stopping of the daily sacrifice in Daniel 9:27 would be a time of the end event, involving the little horn person. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. -------------------------------------------------- Since in Daniel 9:26, it indicates the prince who shall come is the one who will confirm the Mt Sinai covenant for 7 years, the Jews of Daniel's time could reason that person to be acting in a King of Israel role, based on what they knew about Deuteronomy 31:9-13. And since the Jews of Daniel's time could read about the little horn in Daniel 8, they could know that person, at the time of the end, will come from north and west of Israel, according to Daniel 8:9. --------------------------------------------------- Putting it all together, the Jews of Daniel's time could know at the time the end, the little horn person will come from north and west of Israel, and then becomes the King of Israel, and he then confirms the Mt. Sinai covenant for 7 years, and then in the midst of the seven years he stops the daily sacrifice, and commits the transgression of desolation. And since Daniel 9:27 also includes spreading of abominations of desolation, the Jews of Daniel's time could know that the setting up of the abomination of desolation in Daniel 12:11-12 will take place. And that the 1290 days and 1335 days take place within the 70th week.

The false prophet does not claim to be Jesus. The false Christs that Jesus was taking about were persons like Simon bar Kokba, Shabbatai Zevi. In recent times, Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda, Vissarion of Russia, Alan John Miller of Australia.

Back up your statements about.... "The beast that rose out of the sea is already in Israel. The false prophet arrives in Israel about a year from now."

Marv, the day that Jesus returns fulfills the 70th week. There is no timeframe given for how long the birds gorge themselves on the remains of the flesh of the armies. Jesus descends from heaven in Revelation 19, and Zechariah 14. First, He stands on the Mt. of Olives splitting in half making a valley for the hostages of Zechariah 14 held just outside of Jerusalem to escape through. Then, He turns the abomination of desolation statue image, in dwelth by Satan, into flames, and ashes, exposing Satan for everyone to see him physically. That's in Ezekiel 28:16-19. Then, He casts the beast-king and the false prophet into the lake of fire. Revelation 19:20. Then, Jesus destroys the armies surrounding Jerusalem. Revelation 19:21. The rest of the armies beyond Jerusalem, but packed into the length of Israel, are then destroyed by angel in Revelation 14:17-20 (most people are not aware of that information - please go read it.) Then, an angel binds Satan in chains and Satan is cast into the bottomless pit prison. Then the birds swarm and begin their feast on the flesh of the dead of the armies. The bible does not say how long. ---------------------------------------------------- The importance of the 1335 days is them who remain faithful to Jesus (the great tribulation saints) will be blessed to make it to the day of Jesus's return. There are no extensions, nor extra days.

Are you referring to Netanyahu (if I recall you position correctly) ? If so, Netanyahu, was born in Tel Aviv. And what is your basis that the false prophet arrives in Israel about a year from now ?
-
You are taking verses from Luke 21 that were fulfilled in 70 ad and you are errantly placing them in the end times. Luke 21:5-24 is about the time the temple was destroyed by the Romans. 5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Marv, if you are talking about the army in Revelation 9, that army kills a third of mankind. I agree it is the armies coming from the east, primarily the Chinese army. But you are leaving out a few steps. In Daniel 11:40-44 the beast-king (king of the west) is being attacked by the south, then north, then east. The 200,000,000 size army will kill a third of mankind, mainly in the Pakistan, India region because those nations will be allied with the king of the west, apparently. Those battles are not themselves Armageddon (which Armageddon is to make war on Jesus) - but a prelude to get all of the nations and their armies into the middle east area. While they are battling - that's when the sign of the Son of Man appears in heaven, sickle in hand. That will panic all of kings of the earth, and they will stop fighting each other and will band together for Armageddon. Although Armageddon is the chief gathering place, from what it says in Revelation 14:20, the destruction of those armies is 1600 furlongs (a furlong is 1/8 of a mile - so 200 miles), the north to south length of Israel. Revelation 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Well, I would say the mid-point is day 1260. day 1185 (2520-1335) is mid-week, but not the midpoint. From when the abomination of desolation is setup, 1335 days later is the day that Jesus returns. From when the abomination of desolation is setup, 1290 days later is when the world sees the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. Which puts the kings of the earth into a panic mode that they spend 45 days assembling their armies at Armageddon to make war of Jesus. AoD........1290 days......sign of the Son of Man in heaven...........45 days........Jesus descends to earth.
-
Why are you placing the blessing at the beginning of the 1335 days, when the text says at the end of the 1335 days ? Daniel 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
-
The bible does not say that Christians are killed and imprisoned during the 1260 days of the two witnesses. That is your claim, but you can't back it up. Matthew 10:23 is talking about the disciples spreading the gospel through Israel, and before they have completed that task, Jesus will have come into his kingdom. i.e. ascended to heaven, to receive his everlasting eternal kingdom in Daniel 7:13-14.
-
Those verses are not specific to the 1260 days of the two witnesses. You are claiming Christians will be killed and imprisioned in Israel during that specific time-frame.
-
Based on what ?
-
The 1260 days of Revelation 12:6 are the 1260 days of Revelation 11:3. The woman came out of the nations in May 14, 1948, to the place prepared for her - the land of Israel, where she is now. The woman is in the land of Israel, but when Revelation 12:6 begins, she is in a spiritual wilderness for believing that the Antichrist is her King of Israel messiah. The two witnesses though are feeding her the word of God, telling her that the Antichrist is not the real messiah, but Jesus is, during that 1260 days. In Revelation 12:10 after the war in the second heaven in verses 7-9 and Satan cast down to earth, the woman Israel, the Jews, turn to Jesus in Revelation 12:10.
-
Dennis, the "they" are the two witnesses, who will feed them the word of God, during their 1260 testimony time in Jerusalem.
-
Only if you interpret midweek as being midpoint. 1335 days to the the last day of the 70th week, is still midweek, but not mid point.

It won't work, if you source from the NT. The answer to the question of what the Jews of Daniel's generation would have thought is the covenant to be confirmed for 7 years is the Mt. Sinai covenant. Their rationale would be that Daniel had prayed regarding that covenant and the Jews of that generation knew about Deuteronomy 31:9-13 which has the for 7 years in it, and pertains to the Mt. Sinai covenant. ------------------------------- So the next question is, what would have that generation of Daniel, would have thought about when Daniel in verse 21 first had an enounter with Gabriel ? 21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
-
Looking at Daniel 9 from the standpoint of the first century implies taking from New Testament timing. And I thought we were not going to take any NT sourcing. I thought we were going to look at Daniel as the Jews would have at the time Daniel was written... instead of fast forwarding into the future. Also, never mind what you think I was taught - because you don't know what I was taught. Again, if you were a Jew living at the time of Daniel, and read what he wrote - at the time of Babylonian captivity, what would be the covenant in Daniel 9:27 to be confirmed for 7 years ? Daniel in the early verses of Daniel 9 had been praying over the Jews breaking the Mt. Sinai covenant. So the Jews would have thought the covenant in Daniel 9:27 to be confirmed for 7 years would be what covenant ? As a Jew back then, from the Tanach, what would you have known about confirming the Mt. Sinai covenant for 7 years ?
-
No, verse 32 is about Antiochus IV, and the Maccabees who opposed him. Verses 33-35 are about the church age, Christians, for the passed 2000 years, leading up to the time of the end. The time of the end beast-king is verses 36-45. We are now living in that time of the end period. Soon to take place - Gog/Magog, then the seven years, then Armageddon - and Jesus's return to this earth, accompanied by His saints.
-
At the time of Daniel 9, the Jews were in Babylonian captivity. The Jews at that time would not have known about the Romans. The Romans were way into the future. Therefore, what is the covenant known to Jews at that time, that they would think is the covenant to be confirmed for 7 years in Daniel 9:27 ?
-
The king in verse 32 is Antiochus IV. The ones doing exploits are the Maccabees who fought against him. Those are historical (to our time). Differently, the king in verse 36 is time of the end, in the role of being the beast-king, who ultimately will come to his destruction in verse 45, between the seas on the temple mount.
-
Daniel 11:33-35 is the church age, during which many saints were persecuted and killed, covering a period of the last 2000 years. Verse 35 transitions to the time of end. Verse 36 picks up at the time of the beast-king.
-
That's is a mistake. "the 1290" for example, implies the number 1290 not the event 1290. "666" is the "number" of the beast's name, as a direct example from the text of the bible. "1290 days" is what is in the bible. 1290 days is a timeframe. Also it does not say "the 1290 days", no the. Because 1290 days in itself is not an event. The event is the setting up of the abomination of desolation. Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. The event is that the two witnesses will prophesy for the timeframe of 1260 days. Read Matthew 24:15-30. There is nothing there regarding the high priest. The abomination of desolation standing (setup) in the holy place. Then 1290 days later the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. Daniel, in his day, was not told about the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. What I wrote was the setting up of the abomination of desolation is the fulcrum point that both the 1290 day timeframe and 1335 day timeframe begin. That is two timeframes, not three. I never wrote that "the 1290 is a fulcrum point". Please speak English. Stop with "the 1290", "the 1335", "the 1260" stuff. Swallow your pride and correct your communications. Which your pride is the only reason you continue as you do.

Charlie, you go ahead and author it.

Chapter 9 includes Messianic prophecies, but contains other prophecies as well, not applying to the messiah. Verses 24-27 includes Messianic prophecies, but includes other prophecies as well, not applying to the messiah. Verse 24 presents a list of things that will be accomplished in the 70 weeks.
