And lets not forget divorces in most families, that started back in the late 70's . My ex and I were separated in 1979 and 80..divorced. Seemed so many couples were getting divorces and still is an on going thing....some families become disfuntional as a result to a divorce. Then to mention.. some women have to go out and work, spending less time with children. Children are watching and hearing so much garbage..today...everywhere. Television , movie and music industry ...they see and hear all ungodly things. Then, People participating in ungodly things. I am not accountable of what another person does , or the way our country is today. I need not have to feel guilty for someone elses corruption and errors.,...or carry their sins .

I'm not saying that all homeless people are mentally ill. But, I've worked a homeless shelter and spent quite a lot of time talking to the chronically homeless (which you were not because you lost your home and then recovered) and all the ones I know admit to having mental illnesses and take medication for them. But, they tell me that they don't like to take the meds because it affects their mood. Quite a few have also "lost their ID" so they can't get more meds (or be reported to the authorities). I'm not an expert on the homeless and my knowledge is anecdotal at best, but this is what I've learned from them. We live in a society where there is plenty of help and people who need help get something. It might not be all they need, but it is something. The homeless people I have known want help on their terms, but do not want to be tied down to an address, job, or treatment program. One common theme that I've observed is that they want to recieve the benefits of society without participating in that society. That is a mental illness. I agree with you that they do need the assistance of others. But that help needs to be curative and not something to enable them. This is the only reason that I lumped them in with crazed shooters. People like Adam Lanza were passed through the system for years and everyone knew that he wasn't right, but there was no means to get him the real help he needed because his civil rights were more important than his mental health. Now, that's a slippery slope when you start talking about taking away civil rights to treat people for mental health, but look at where the government is now? They want to curtail our second amendment rights so people like Adam Lanza can "safely" roam the streets. They are heartfilled human beings ..I must tell you. BTW... those who snap and kill themselves or others , may have a home and family . Please don't target just the homeless... that are mentally ill.

No, I don't think he's saying all homeless are mentally ill. Some of them are, and many recieve the "treatment" described. I see them on a daily basis since I'm on mass transit. Some are so out of it that they really do need someone to take care of them. Example: the guy I saw on the 24th -- wearing shorts and t-shirt, plus a ratty blanket and sleeping bag like a cloak in 40 degree weather and ranting at people who were not there. He was in his own world, wandered into traffic, and was almost hit twice. A person like that needs help. he did say... " these shooters and homeless " Homeless people are, homeless and have no where to go. It doesn't mean that they are mentally ill. Some people are wondering on the street and are not mental. They are people in need. They need assistance of others. Like samaritan help, like Jesus discribed in the bible.

I had a friend who used to complain about how Reagan "cut off funding for the mental hospitals" and that's why we have so many crazy people wandering the streets today. I did some reseach and found that Reagan did cut off funding because the mental hospitals were empty! It seems that the ACLU and other well-meaning groups decided that committment to mental hospitals and the forced treatment of the insane amounted to unlawful incarceration and they went out judge shopping to put an end to people being committed to mental hospitals. They found the judge they were looking for and he ruled in their favor, emptying the mental hospitals in California almost overnight. They found some more judges and soon enough, through judicial activism, it became impossible to commit a person who had not committed a serious felony. In other words, it was decided that it was best to wait for Adam Lanza to open fire before we treat him. Today, we treat the mentally ill by giving them a bottle of pills and telling him to take them and to report back if he feels crazier. Yeah. That's going to work. I do agree that our fundamental problem with these shooters and the homeless is that we aren't allowed to give them the treatment they need. But, more funding will not fix the problem until we can make them take the treatment. In fact, our catch and release program that hands out pills seems to make the problem worse because the patients don't take the pills regularly and that creates an entirely new and worse problem in the patient. So you are saying that homless people are mentally ill ? I have been homeless before and am not mentally ill . I lost my house due to a divorce settlement. I had no where to go. I lived in a bible study room ,in a church for a while. Homeless people are, homeless and have no where to go. It doesn't mean that they are mentally ill. Then, I lost my apt. for hurricane Gustav, a tornado took it... It put me homeless, again. Reagan is not the problem that there are more mentally ill people today. I would blame it on either of some of these things... genetic birth defects of the brain stress ..and the lost of something in their life addiction to alcohol addiction to street drugs etc. Some people never showed any kind of mental illness, then they just snap and kill themselves or maybe others . They give up on life..I suppose , I do not know what makes a person go over the edge. There is the influence of the music and movie industry , or the media that may seed the wrong things in a persons mind. Regardless if they are normal or mentally ill. The corruption is much more great in todays society than ever before. Those who are on meds. for their problem ..those meds. can have side-effects to them , that can make them go over the edge in their behavior. Or those meds. can have the same type of effect on them are to stop taking their meds....they can still go over the edge. Adam Lanza had mental problems and must have been seeing a Doctor for it...for his mother was going to put him in a home.

They name every Mardi Gras parade and make their floats .. most are named of gods and goddesses.... here in new orleans and other towns in Louisiana. Then they raise their arms and hands open to catch trinkets from the float riders. Then they have their Mardi Gras balls at night...honoring the king or queens and those in their court.
