  1. if i had to go without a Christmas tree, i would. A couple of years, ive had to because i couldnt afford one. Its not a drama if its not there, as long as i have my bible to tell the little ones about the Birth of our precious savior Jesus, then im happy, but if a Christmas tree puts a smile on a face too, im all for it.
  2. Hello! Ill start by saying, i have no hate towards Catholics. My entire fathers side of the family are catholics, and they are genuine people who love God dearly. It's just a shame there missing out on the whole point. It clearly states in the bible we are to pray ONLY to the Father through Jesus Christ. Anything else is nothing short of sin. Sure, were to respect Mary. She had Jesus, what a woman! Of course were to remember her and respect her part in the birth of our precious savior, but once she had Jesus, thats it. Normal, lovely lady with a family that consisted of more than one child. Lived a normal life. She is now dead. She is not a God. Were not to pray to her. That is like praying to our dead grandparents. It's wrong. Dead people cant hear you anyway so its a waste of breath. She is not apart of the Holy trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. She was a nice, pure lady who is now deceased. Also, what i mean by, its such a shame that there missing the point, is, that although Catholics do love the Lord dearly, and are devoted to there church and sticking up for it... there missing Jesus. The most important thing is your personal relationship with God. Catholics get so caught up in there rosary beads and making a cross sign pefore they sit down in a pulpit, and there noice priestly garments, there so caught up in the ceremonial things that they totally forget the point. The relationship which consists of prayer (which they do but its all to a dead person, instead of there beloved God) worship, and the Word of God. Catholics are not encouraged to seek God in the bible, or to worship rejoicefully as they did in Psalms. Its almost like Catholics are the Pharisees of our age with there ceremonial obsession. Except i believe Catholics love the Lord so much. They just have no idea. If they were to meet the Holy Spirit theyd pass out in shock that there is such a thing! these poor people are missing out and need much prayer that they will meet the Lord.
  3. how about plastic Christmas trees then? Here in australia we like to do it the easy way, since its summer we dont have those nice lush giant trees to chop down even if we wanted to hahaha. So would you consider Christmas in australia? Heh. No chopping here. I think your getting a bit carried away with the whole leaning over putting gifts under the tree being idolatry. Come off it! Thats like saying leaning over and putting your baby into a crib is idolising the crib and your child is the offering!... i mean, a cribs made of wood too isnt it. hahaha. We put gifts under the tree for each other. Not the tree. Like i said, this dramatic negative look at the season to be jolly is satan trying to take the joy out of Giving. Jesus gave. Why cant we? Jesus was joyful? Why cant we be? The reason for the season is Jesus. Everything else is a nice bonus. Theres no reason we cant celebrate Christmas with all the bells and whistles. As long as we know the true meaning.
  4. KJV is where its at .... with a minature sized easier one on hand just incase.
  5. Many Christians would leave because too many have come to Christ out of fear. However, hell is not why we are to come to Christ. We are to come to Him because we love Him, not because we're afraid of Him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well if this happened we would find out who the true christians are. Certainly not the ones who came to God because of fear. God wants genuine Love. A relationship with us. Not someone scared and thats the only reason they say they believe. These people arent Christians. Someone who, as Keith Green says, is "Bannana's for Jesus" (hehe) is a christian. Someone that loves him back, and knows him.
  6. OSAS is a misguiding, unscriptural doctrine snuk in by the enemy. That means Judas Iscariot can be a disiple, saved obvously, then betray Jesus, but still go to heaven!!! Coz after all, once saved always saved right? I dont think so. No way. Its just not true. Why in the word does it say that people will go to Jesus and say, but Lord we cast out demons in your name, we healed the sick, ect ect, and he will say, depart from me, i never knew you! Matt 7:21-23 "
  7. Amen to that! The Word of God has all the promises of life, love, happiness, success, basically a promise of salvation and prosperity. Read your bible like never before! And remember. You actually ARE dead and alive at the same time. "its no longer i that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me" Rom 6:11 "In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." You do not own your life. The Lord does. So dont take it from him before his timing! Let him fulfill his purpose for you! Your here for a reason. Youve been put thru these times for a reason. Just keep going! Read your bible as often as possible, keep in prayer. Build your faith. It sounds like your angry at God, if this is the case, repent!! Its not his fault your not taking advantage of the promises made available to you, ask for revalation on the promises of God, search the scriptures and proclaim them unto your life, in and out of prayer. Use a concordance or book that has faith scriptures in it. The power is in your tongue. Prov 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." I will be praying for you
  8. Hello! I was listening to Rick Joyner yesterday and he was talking about the difference between your calling, and your comissioning. I suggest listening to his prophetic teachings, they bring great revalation on things like that. So anyway, he said, you'll know what your calling is, by the way you mostly portray Christ. What you notice the most, what God ministers to your heart. For example, if you see Jesus as the healer. Your probably called to heal. If you see him as the compassionate savior, your probably called to win souls through love and helps, if you see Jesus as the teacher, your probably called to preach the Word... ect... of course, in due time the Lord will reveal your calling. How long is a long time? Some people wait years and years. Just remember, if your praying for your own calling to be revealed, it wont. If your praying to the Lord to place you in a calling for HIS purpose, youll get results. So many people its all about them, what they can do, but for there own purpose, there own glory. Ask the Lord to glorify himself through your life, and that your calling be revealed so that you can fulfil his purpose, so he can recieve what he paid for with his own blood. Remember to get stuck into the Word of God too. Seek revalation through the Holy Spirit about God's calling. About Jesus, and all things will be added unto you. Hope that helped! Blessings, Bluebird
  9. I think the whole "satan claus" thing is a bit OTT! As long as your children know the true meaning of Christmas, they should be allowed to enjoy the joy and exitement of santa claus, who is actually traditionally a man named Chris Kringle who was real, and went around his town in a big red suit, giving gifts to all the poor children in his area, because he was rich and decided to share his riches with those less fortunate. That tradition has been kept on with Santa Claus, which is a good thing. I dont believe Jesus would call a generous, friendly, child cheering man...satan?? As long as you make your family aware that Jesus is the reason for the season, and that santa is just a nice bonus, theres nothing wrong with it. People take things so out of context, which is the devil trying to take the Joy out of giving.
  10. Thats right Franky People have lost there faith. Or dont have it. Were to build on that portion of faith deposited to us by the Holy Spirit on our day of salvation to at least a mustard seed (refering to the parable of the mustard seed) MATT 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." If we all had the faith to move mountains, and realised that the power of God was inside us, Church would be so so so different. But its gonna take people realising that all they have to do is seek to find, which doesnt seem to be happening. My church has just come to the tremendous realisation and were on our way to moving mountains already! Its amazing what Faith can do. Faith, hope and love brother!
  11. Franky67, I am agreeing with you. In a sense that its such a shame that these churches dont display the spiritual gifts. But i dont believe its the fault of the average bretheren. You will notice that the 'anointing' for these gifts seem only to be for a special few in each church, namely, the Leaders. Anyone else is to sit back and watch. Church it seems is no longer for us to bring something, such as a tongue, a prophecy, a healing, now were meant to sit there and listen and watch. Were there to recieve our weekly dosage of holiness from those in charge and to keep our own gifts and revalations to ourselves until the weekly bible study or 'homegroup' where we might be able to do or say something. The church has dropped the ball because theyve restricted the ammount of people that they decide are called of God to share at church. Read 1 and 2 Corinthians. That is how our church was supposed to be. Everybody went not only to recieve, but to give to, with spiritual gifts, which is the signs and wonders youve been looking for but not finding. Sadly, you wont. Not where you seem to be looking anyway.
  12. I was watching Creflo Dollar last night and he said the same thing, u must leave a sin, and come into something else, otherwise youll fall right back into it or find some other sin to cling to. Leave sexual immorality, come to Christ. Teachings, bible studies, tapes, videos, anything Christ centred.
  13. I know some do, but if we all just swapped churches for that reason, I don't think it would solve the problem. I encourage my pastor as much as I can. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  14. That's fantastic! Great to hear
  15. Thats great! Its good to desire spiritual gifts. It says so in the bible. I have the gift of prophecy by dreams, and a good descerning of spirits. as of the other gifts, im not sure yet. All i know is a scripture God gave me that i hold dear to me and know will come to pass which has healing and exhortation involved. Isnt it exiting that God can use us to show his Glory? As long as we remember to seek God first, then all things will be added unto us.
  16. 4. Where in the bible does it say. Jesus became one with satan and went to hell for three days and then rose again ? What The??What kind of church are you attending? Jesus didnt go to hell, he went into the wilderness and was tempted by satan for 40 days MATT 4:1 'Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.' and he rose again after he died on the cross. Which you will find at the end of each of the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. 5. Where does it say that we become "like God" when we are born again.. I really only found in Gensis where satan told Eve.. that she will be "like God" if she ate the fruit and sinned.. .. it didnt say that Adam was already created "like God" just in his image.. is there something I am missing? your not missing anything. Were created in his image definately, thats right. We arent like God in character but we are to strive to be Christ-like. Ephesians 5:1 'Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.' (there are more than just one scripture for all these things, but if you use a concordance you will see them for yourself.) 6. Where in the bible does it say that if I make a "sacrificial love gift" to a big ministry all my debt will be wiped out and I'll never have any more troubles? It doesn't. U must be going to one of those greedy, money hungry, focused only on the size of there Church, churches. Find yourself a new church. As far as Benny Hinn is concerned. He used to be a very annointed man. His healing ministry was authentic, i have been to one, and his teachings were solid and backed up by scripture. U listen to his tapes 'the Tabernacle' or 'heart of the Holy Spirit' or read his book "Good morning Holy Spirit" He definately had an anointing. Ive learned so so much from him. Its a shame hes lost it. He's dropped his calling. So instead of us all sooking and gossiping about him we should do what Jesus would do and interceed for him, pray that he will go back to his calling and leave the mammon. Because he used to be an excellent teacher and its such a waste.
  17. Yes, many churches have certainly dropped the ball. But not all. It's because theyve either lost respect and reverence for the Lord or there preacing has turned to "self-esteem" preaching and the emphasis is on church growth instead of Christ centred sermons and basing there church focus on simply God himself. They have unity at the expense of truth. If your church is like this... GET OUT!!!!! I did and ive never looked back. Turn to whats important. You dont need signs or wonders or counselling from the pulpit. You need The Word of God, Jesus, worship. A Christ centred Church.
  18. OSAS is contrary to the Word of God. Our salvation is a continual thing. The Holy Spirit is deposited into us as a promise. We have to keep the fire burning and live for Christ. You cant just run to an alter call and go, oh good. Im saved now i can go run a muck and know im going to heaven, Heck i dont even have to go to Church, coz after all, once saved, always saved... i dont think so!!!!
  19. Nobody knows the date Christ was born, but a celebration in his name, for his birth, is a beautiful thing to do. The Lamb is worthy of celebration. I dont mind if he was not born on that date, to me it is the one time of the year i can openly celebrate his birth and it is a time that makes it easier to share the Gospel with others. "what are you doing for Christmas?" "really? are you going to church?" "oh you dont believe in God? Why do you celebrate his birth then? Do you know about Jesus?" and there you go. Its not only a time of thanks and rememberance of what his birth meant (no matter the real date) its a time to share his story publicly to the unsaved. Although we should always do this, Christmas time makes it easier. So bring on the tinsel, nativity scenes, songs of the Lords birth like 'away in a manger', get the roast and turkey and get my family together in love and unity remembering the Lord's birth and lets celebrate the warm, symbolic time of Christmas!
  20. i didnt read the whole thing. But it just seems to be old news with new wrapping paper. We all know there are too many "chrstians" out there who dont trust or follow the bible fully. I believe that the word of God is true in all its fullness and it is the only truth there is in this world that is without error. Translated versions may or may not have made mistakes with words and verses, i dont know because i can only read one language, english, but i believe if you seek God and read your bible and ask the Lord for revalation of his word, your only going to get truth. Hes not going to point you to a mistake. He will bring revalation. Truth.
  21. I am not a fan of what hes doing, but there are alot of fantastic teachings he has done back in the day. Absolutely brilliant, scripturally backed sermons. His healing gatherings are awesome also, the Lord had a powerful anointing on him once upon a time, I guess hes turned to mammon in his old age. It is very very sad and i for one will be praying for him instead of critisising. Christ didnt ever sook about the Pharisees, he either did something about it, (confronted them, told them off) or he left it alone. Since we cannot confront Benny Hinn in the flesh, all we can do is add him to our prayer list, because he used to have a heart for God, now he has fallen by the wayside, so prayer to pick him back up would be great because people were healed and i know so so many christians who used to learn so much from him. Lets pray for Christ to work a miracle and re-call Benny to what he originally started.
  22. Hello dear, Okay. Stop looking for the Love your not getting from your husband, in worldly ways. Dont look to the world (eg:internet guy) and look to the Lord. He gives an unconditional, true and pure love. Seek God. More than you ever have. You cant change your husband, but the Lord certainly can. You ask for conviction to enter your husbands heart and ask the Lord to help you go forward in your marriage with a clear and wisdom filled heart. The first step is repentance, we cannot drink of the Cup and eat of the bread of life with the wrong heart. With a sinful heart, it will lead to sickness and no results. Repent of cheating (you know your hustband can leave you because you committed adultery, so thats an exception for divorce) repent of lusting after a non Christian, and get that word of God into you. Find scripture on marriage, and the promises God has given us for success in marriage, in life, and remember that his Word is Settled in heaven and if you quote, on DECLARE scripture over your marriage in prayer, God will answer your call. Remember nobody is perfect, we make mistakes, but with by the blood of Jesus we may be forgiven and brought back to righteousness. You get yourself right, pure and true first. Then worry about your husband. Cut it off with this internet guy, say a prayer for him and that is it. Forget it. Work on your marriage. Build up your personal relationship with God, pray and read the Bible, read it and read it and read it. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring you scriptures of promise. But dont forget to repent for your sins first. Then you can patch up your marriage and ask God to work a miracle in your husbands heart. Believe for it and you WILL recieve it. Oh and you were saying non christian lives seem easier??? I dont think so. Imagine a life without Christ? It sounds as though u may have never met him? or youve lost your faith? Worship. Put on some music that lifts up God, glorifires and honours him. Meet God halfway. He will be waiting for you to just reach out and ask "who are you Lord? i love you, but i dont know you. i want to, show me who you are." if youve already done this, then just add "again" to the end of that sentence to regain your faith!
  23. Tithes and offerings are such a blown out of context issue. I think its important to know exactly what we should be tithing into... There was never a tithe mentioned after Jesus died, so i believe its all offering now. All of our money is God's anyway. If you feel God wants you to give to your church or an organisation on a weekly basis then go for it! But know that a tithe is not 10% of your income in a modern context. Back then it was like this: If a man has 10 cows hes to give one as a tithe. If a man has 2 cows he gives nothing, or what he can. Its easy for people who earn $700+ a week to give 10%. But how about students? Or pensioners on $250 a week? 10% is huge in modern terms! So as long as you know God isnt going to smite you if you cant give the modern version of tem percent, and you give what you can as your tithe, then your doing the right thing. MAL 3:10 speaks of bringing your tithe to the storehouse, now some churches tell you this storehouse is the church. A storehouse is actually a storage room they used to put food and clothes etc into, to once a week or month or whatever, distribute to the poor, the widows ect... so as long as your tithes and offerings are going into a Church that is focused on giving to those in need, and giving when the need arises (such as the tsunami appeal), and not the main focus being the growth and building size of the church, or how nice a sound system is, then you know your tithes and offerings are going into the right place. in Malachi it says "Will a man rob God?" no we must not. All we have is his. So remembering that, of course were to do offerings and try to spend our money on things that glorify God, or spread his Gospel. Dont forget Proverbs 21:13, if you shut your ears to the poor you will also not be heard by God. So i guess what im trying to say, is if your money is going into what the bible says for us to, the poor, those in need more than us, then your doing the right thing. If not there is need for repentance and a look at where the Lord's money is going.
  24. Hello! I like your name too. I read that poem on the back of a toilet once (hahahaha) before i was saved and it touched my heart. I cant pull any verses for you either but i was taught and shown scripture that practically says that these earthly animals do not go to heaven, when they die, thats it. They cant, they dont have a Spirit. They are made by God, for us to rule over, eat ect. But there are most certainly animals in heaven, I guess they must have been created in heaven, for heaven. Hope that makes sense! Welcome to worthy, its wonderful here!! Blessings, Bluebird XoXo
  25. its that 'feelings' thing again, can be such a powerful thing. Hey if he cant find it in him to forgive you, you know where his christ-likeness stops. Though you must understand if you did something to betray his trust, even if he forgives you youll have to work at restoring that trust. Concentrate on building your own character to be more Christ-like and building your own relationship with the Lord and all other things will be added unto you sweetheart. Im so glad you found worthy boards too! Blessings, Bluebird XoXo
