  1. Yea...Ummmm... kind of scary..LOL..
  2. Yes I do know that sometimes we should keep things in secret but for the cashier to say that to you makes me wonder just how much more this act of kindness needs to be done more often.. I'm sure you could have easily shrugged your shoulders and say "oh well that's too bad" but you didn't.. Being a blessing to others is what we are here for .. Not to see who can collect the most toys.. Love Songs.. You truly are an amazing woman.. You give with your heart and it shows..
  3. that's awesome Other One... I love when those moments happen.. just the look of shock and thankfulness on the faces of some are just priceless.. Not only do they feel the joy but it fuels us as well.. Once you start you just can't help wanting to do more.. God bless you and your family.. )
  4. I agree with Fez. When I was on the street and not for a short period, I recived money and food from strangers. In fact, I begged. One of the fundamental points of my turn around and coming back in to society was that someone , stopped ; looked further than the tramp clothing and tried to see the real me. She dedicated over a period of nearly ten years her time, her love and yes money. She involved her husband and her son. She involved the people that lived in and around the park where I lived. The dedication of their time and love, more so than money; made an enormous change in my life. It also had an effect on their lives. You see; in the past my friend Giovanna hated tramps and had even tried to get a petition signed to have me moved on. Today, as I type this on my PC in the comfort of my flat, if I look out of the window; memories return and I can almost see her all those miles away. Smartly dressed sat on my park bench chatting to me. Yes, it's all about love and when you love it effects you and those around you. Thank you for sharing that....thatis exactly what i meant.. how much time is too much to give to another .. could you even spare a dollar's worth..
  5. Did you write that yourself? Is it an excerpt from a longer work? It just seems incomplete somehow. Yes i wrote it myself... I know what you mean it could have been longer but I tried not to make it so long as i have with my other threads.. . just wanted to vent a little.. Venting! Venting is a good thing. Okay, now I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes I walk AROUND doing this; like saying cryptic things under my breath when I'm annoyed and getting the 'how come you have two heads?' kind of looks. That always cracks me up then I feel better. LOL... ))

  7. Well, its an interesting question. I would say this, I won't necessarily hand a dollar over to someone, which has a lot to do with the area I live in. To explain, there are a lot of drunks and drug addicts roaming the streets in my area, and they often ask for money from me or anyone else crossing their path. The question then becomes, should I give them money so they can go buy drugs or alcohol? The answer for me has always been no. What I will do, and have done, is offer to walk them to a restaurant and buy them a meal, which the offer is generally responded to with a curse in return. However, I have twice had the priveledge of buying a meal for someone, God bless. I understand not feeding someone's addiction... I just meant giving in general.. and how some are so self absorbed they can't see past their own 2 feet to even lend a hand to someone else ..
  8. What gives you the idea that she is talking about anybody, here or in the world? The post is addressed to 'you' so I'm pretty sure it's talking about someone....or everyone. It was inspired by someone .. but it has nothing to do with anyone here...
  9. A dollar...Doesn't seem like a whole lot does it??? Granted in today's world we need to hold on to every possible penny we can .. but, what if you were asked to spare a dollar??? If you had it.. would you??? I ask this only because of something I heard and it got me thinking.. When do we finally understand that this world doesn't revolve around us.. Just because someone asks you for a dollar why do you hesitate to give if you have it to spare?? At what point did we become so self involved that our problems and our time are more valuable than the next person's... What about a dollars worth of your time... ?? Would you offer a smile to a stranger on the street?? Would you buy someone a cup of coffee just because?? Would you take a dollar's worth of your time and send a lil note to someone you care about just to let them know you are thinking of them?? How can we expect God to help us when he clearly sees that we are not even willing to give a dollar's worth of anything to anyone. Yet, we cry and we pray and pray for Him to work stuff out in our lives.. What are you doing to help someone else?? How can you honestly expect God to work with you when you won't even work with Him .. What are you committed to other than your own needs, wants and desires??
  10. Thank you for posting this .. I found it quite interesting .. ))
  11. I feel you with the heartbreak ... But I have to believe that as much as I have been broken in my life that God is working it all out for my good.. I love being me when talking to Him..meaning I don't come to Him with all this eloquent talk.. I lay it all out as if i was talking to my best friend.. Though He does know my heart and knows my desires.. just getting it out to Him and knowing that I have shared my heart with Him allows me to feel at ease.. Though I don't know what tomorrow will bring i do know that with Him I am loved, I am cherished.. He desires me as much as i desire Him.. I really do wish i could help you mend your heart and calm your fears for I do know what all that feels like...but I know from seeing how your prayer has changed I can see He is doing a work in you.. God bless you Tina..
  12. Found this on FB.. If God already knows our needs, why pray? Perhaps this question has even kept us from praying - but in reality it should make us pray more. If you are a parent, do you discourage your children from coming to you with their requests - even if you already know what they want? No, of course not. You love them, and you take delight in listening to them. Even if you say no to their requests, it's because you know better than they do what is best for them. God, our heavenly Father, loves us, His children - and one of our greatest privileges is coming to Him in prayer. And because He already knows our needs, we can be confident His answer will be best. If He didn't know our needs, why bother to pray? But He does, and this should give us confidence in prayer. Thank God that He knows our needs and wants us to come t Him in prayer. Remember: His Son gave His life "so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need"~ Hebrews 4:16. We must pray for and about our relationships, marriages and lives. God listens! Biblical Reference: "Your Father knows what you need before you ask him." ~ Matthew 6:8
  13. I guess it doesn't pay to be stubborn.. but glad to hear you're okay.. welcome back ))
  14. you nailed it Betty .. )) being Honest is hard especially when it comes to ourselves.. but as the saying goes. it's the truth that sets you free..
  15. I absolutely agree Fez... would most certainly be more willing to hang with someone like that rather than one who purposely sets out to deceive others.. that's the point i was trying to make.. don't come off as if you love God and act like the devil behind closed doors.. Being with God you change over time.. but we have to be willing to submit and allow the work to be done.. We can chose to stay right where we are at or go deeper .. I still screw up and make mistakes. I am not talking about that kind of thing..
  16. Wingnut I know.. I know and agree with everything you said... Not sure what's up with me because i know not one person is perfect..I just get tired of dealing with ppl who like to play games and use God as a way of getting something. . I know every one is fighting some sort of battle.. myself included.. and we all fall short and we all sin.. I mean if I have arrived then Lord take me now... but i am aware that I have a job to do. and need to be more focused on God and understand how He would handle this.. Thank you for takin time to respond ..
  17. Maybe, but I don't think we should say "hey, don't read that if you only want to intellectually dissect the merits of what it teaches!" I understand the general idea behind the statement, but I wish it were a little more specific. I would never, under any circumstances that I could think of, discourage someone from reading the Word of God, no matter what their intentions, because the truth is there. No, I wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it either .. but to read it only to gain head knowledge and not do anything with it except use it for a conversation piece or just another check in the "I know" dept. doesn't serve it's purpose.. it's just like someone who has a bumper sticker on the back of their car saying "I love Jesus" yet you're flipping everyone off who cuts you off in traffic.. or someone who wears pins and crosses and whatever to decorate their outside yet their gossiping and complaining about the preacher, or others in the church.. Doesn't really make me want to follow them or think they are any different than those who don't believe.. I don't disagree with you in principle. But we have to remember that the Holy Spirit is going to work in someone on His timetable. He may be putting them in the Word in this manner without them even knowing it? Maybe after years of academic study they come across something that moves them spiritually. Also, we have to remember that not only believers read the Bible (though I'd have to assume the original statement is directed at believers). I'm sure many, many nonbelievers have came to know Jesus due to opening up the bible just to mock it, to refute it, out of boredom, or out of just simple curiosity. i do agree there ))

  19. Hmm.. think i may have misunderstood the post..LOL.... See what happens with out enough caffeine... hehehehe.. What makes Bible study pointless...is if you're going to study for just head knowledge.. you can talk the talk all you want but if you are not walking the walk then what you know means nothing...
  20. There's been something on my mind for quite sometime.. I still don't know how to put this all out there but I am relying on the Holy Spirit's leading to help me as i go... i find it extremely heartbreaking that some people are just not who they claim or portray themselves to be.. Especially when it comes to believer's... Granted each and every one of us are on different levels, have different things to work through and sometimes those things take time depending on how deeply rooted they are.. But what truly is breaking my heart is how people who claim to be believer's feel as if they can fool or underestimate someone who is truly a Spirit filled person.. Have we forgotten that the Holy Spirit works in us and gives us nudges, and tells us if something or someone isn't right???!! . Some people look and talk to you as if you don't have discernment or can't pick up a lie. When in fact most believer's are filled with the Holy Spirit therefore being able to sense these things.. To me being a believer isn't about being a robot.. i don't expect everyone to walk the same, talk the same, listen or watch the same things as everyone else.. I respect and love the fact that we are all different... But for me I am finding that alot of people who claim to know and love God do not bear any fruit.. I know Jesus said we would know them by their fruit so with just that said why would anyone feel as if they could underestimate or even try to fool someone who is truly a believer.. How can you say you believe and follow God when behind closed doors (including online) you act like the world does.. You can usually sense by how someone speaks , whether online or to your face who they are.. that little nudge in your spirit tells you.. even if they are funny, kind, and speak about the Word you can still pick up someone being false.. I know there are false prophets out there and too many at that.. It's just sad for me to see it all.. Granted I am not perfect, i have my own things to work on but I am taking the steps.. I am not allowing myself to stay where I am at.. I want to go deeper with God and when you are in a relationship with Him you can't help but to change.. The seeds He gives us begin to grow but we also have to help that process along.. Please do not misunderstand I am not meaning to be judgmental, it's just my heart is breaking from this. You either get in or get out.. God never promised an easy journey, but if we can't even be real or be ourselves online or anywhere else how can we expect God to work in us.. Sure He loves us but i wonder how heartbreaking it must be for Him. to see people claiming to love Him but in fact only use His name for their own selfish reasons.. That's just like having someone say they love you when in fact they truly don't.. Why even waste someone's time... You have free will.. You have a choice.. You're either in it or you're not.. It's a struggle, it's a challenge, it's something that will break you to the point of wanting to call it quits.. But to be in a solid, honest, loving, trustworthy relationship with God our Father, our friend, our Savior.. It's priceless..
