  1. More coming - but this is a good start. I would suggest that you break it up a bit, discuss and then move onto the next. You have at least 10 subjects under one thread. That could make for a very messy thread and one hard to follow, or it could cover too much and you will not have anyone posting. There is just one topic I'm suggesting, "God isn't done with Israel yet" Most people in the Replacement Theology camp have just one of two verses they cling-to in order to justify their position. I thought it was important to demonstrate a bit of the overwhelming evidence that Israel is still very much in God's redemptive road-map.
  2. More coming - but this is a good start.
  3. Israel will be esteemed above every other nation: Jeremiah 33:7 -9 I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel and will rebuild them as they were at first. I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against Me and by which they have transgressed against Me. It will be to Me a name of joy, praise and glory before all the nations of the earth which will hear of all the good that I do for them, and they will fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace that I make for it.’ Isaiah 2:2 Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. Isaiah 60:5 “Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; Because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, The wealth of the nations will come to you. “Foreigners will build up your walls, And their kings will minister to you; For in My wrath I struck you, And in My favor I have had compassion on you. 11 “Your gates will be open continually; They will not be closed day or night, So that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, With their kings led in procession. Isaiah 61:6 But you will be called the priests of Yahuah; You will be spoken of as ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, And in their riches you will boast. Zechariah 8:23 Thus says Yahuah of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’”
  4. Yah’s presence and protection in Israel Isaiah 2:2 And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war. Isaiah 11:9, 10 They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. Then in that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious. Ezekiel 28:25 – 26 ‘Thus says Yahuah Elohim, “When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and will manifest My holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they will live in their land which I gave to My servant Jacob. They will live in it securely; and they will build houses, plant vineyards and live securely when I execute judgments upon all who scorn them round about them. Then they will know that I am Yahuah their Elohim.”’” Ezekiel 38:8 After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.
  5. Temple in Jerusalem will be Rebuilt Isaiah 33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, an undisturbed habitation, A tent which will not be folded; Its stakes will never be pulled up, Nor any of its cords be torn apart. Ezekiel 37:26 - 28 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. And the nations will know that I am Yahuah who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’” Ezekiel chapters 40-48 Micah 4:1-3 And it will come about in the last days That the mountain of the house of Yahuah Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of Yahuah And to the house of the God of Jacob, That He may teach us about His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion will go forth the law, Even the word of Yahuah from Jerusalem. And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they train for war. Haggai 2:6 For thus says Yahuah of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says Yahuah of hosts. The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares Yahuah of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahuah of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares Yahuah of hosts.” Zechariah 6:12, 13 Then say to him, ‘Thus says Yahuah of hosts, “Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of Yahuah. Yes, it is He who will build the temple of Yahuah, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.”’
  6. MashiYah established as King over Israel Ezekiel 37:24 - 27 “My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them. They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. Jeremiah 23:5, 6 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahuah, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land. “In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, “Yahuah our righteousness.’ Jeremiah 33:14 - 18 ‘Behold, days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth. 16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will dwell in safety; and this is the name by which she will be called: the Lord is our righteousness.’ 17 For thus says the Lord, ‘[g]David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; 18 [h]and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices continually.’” Zechariah 14:9 And Yahuah will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one. 16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahuah of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahuah of hosts, there will be no rain on them. Revelation 20:4 - 6 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
  7. Judgment of the Nations who fought against Israel Isaiah 17:1 The oracle concerning Damascus. “Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin. Zechariah 12:9 And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Isaiah 34:5, 6, 8, 9 For My sword is satiated in heaven, Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom And upon the people whom I have devoted to destruction. The sword of Yahuah is filled with blood, It is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahuah has a sacrifice in Bozrah And a great slaughter in the land of Edom. For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of recompense for the cause of Zion. Its streams will be turned into pitch, And its loose earth into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.
  8. MashiYah Rescues Israel Daniel 12:12 “Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. Zechariah 14:1-3 Behold, a day is coming for Yahuah when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then Yahuah will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.
  9. Salvation of Israel Zechariah 12:10 " And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplication: then they will look on me whom they pierced, yes they will mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and grieves for him as one grieves for a firstborn. Romans 11:25 - 27 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.” “This is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
  10. Remnant of Israel Calls on the Name of Yahuah The focus here is on Israel, so we’ll simply review: the rise of the Antichrist - Daniel 7:8; who confirms a Peace Treaty with Israel (7 years prior to the Second Coming) - Daniel 9:26-27. Antichrist breaks this Peace Treaty with Israel 3.5 years before Second Coming - 2 Thessalonians 2:4-6; Daniel 7:23 & 9:26-27; Revelation 13:5-8 and a coalition of nations will march on Israel (Psalms 83) and attack it (Isaiah 17:4). It is here that the people of Israel call on the Sacred name of God Zephaniah 3:9 “For then I will give to the peoples purified lips, that all of them may call on the name of Yahuah, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder. 12 “But I will leave among you A humble and lowly people, And they will take refuge in the name of Yahuah. 13 “The remnant of Israel will do no wrong and tell no lies, Nor will a deceitful tongue Be found in their mouths; For they will feed and lie down with no one to make them tremble.” Matthew 23:37-39 `Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you are killing the prophets, and stoning those sent to you, how often did I will to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her own chickens under the wings, and you were did willing. Look, your house is left desolate; for I say to you, you may not see me from this time forward, until you say, Blessed is he who is coming in the name of Yahuah.'
  11. All Jews Will Return to Israel There will yet be a more complete return of the people of Israel. We are seeing this happen today as Muslim Jihadists as starting to systematically persecute and murder Jewish people in countries like France and Germany. Isaiah 11:11, 12 Then it will happen on that day that Yahuah will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people, who will remain, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He will lift up a standard for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Isaiah 27:12, 13 In that day Yahuah will start His threshing from the flowing stream of the Euphrates to the brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, O sons of Israel. It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship Yahuah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem. Isaiah 43:4 – 7 “Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life. “Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west. “I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from afar And My daughters from the ends of the earth, Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”
  12. Nation of Israel is given the land of Israel as an everlasting Inheritance Some have tried to suggest that the present nation of Israel is not the prophetic fulfillment of scripture. God’s promises to Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and David would say otherwise: Abrahamic covenant Genesis 12:1 – 3 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” The promise to bless those who bless Abraham is in the context of God making Abraham a nation – the promise is for His descendents, the people of Israel. And Abraham’s descendents were to inhabit the land of Israel. Covenant with Jacob Genesis 28:13 And behold, Yahuah stood above it and said, “I am Yahuah, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants. Your descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed. The descendents of Jacob, who would be renamed Israel, would be a blessing to all the families of the earth. And once again, God re-iterates His promise to Give them the land we know as Israel. Mosaic covenant Exodus 6:2 - 8 God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am Yahuah; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as El Shaddai, but by My name, Yahuah, I did not make Myself known to them. I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned. Furthermore I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am Yahuah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am Yahuah your Elohim, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am Yahuah.’” Once again, God promises Moses the Land of Israel as the people of Israel’s Inheritance. Davidic Covenant 2 Samuel 7:12, 13 When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. The Davidic covenant will be fulfilled in physical land of Israel, because this is where the House was built for God’s name.
  13. I thought I would start a thread that focused on God’s promises to the Nation and land of Israel. Some of the following scriptures are unfulfilled prophecies, clearly articulating how the nation and people of Israel continue to be intimately involved in God’s redemptive plan. These following verses simply clarify the fact that God has never, and will never break His promises to the people of Israel. It’s clear from the context that these passages are not talking about a spiritual Israel, as some proponents of replacement theology might advocate, but they are referring to the physical nation and people of Israel! Jeremiah 31:35, 36 Thus says Yahuah, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; Yahuah of hosts is His name: “If this fixed order departs From before Me,” declares Yahuah, “Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever.” Jeremiah 33:24 – 26 “Have you not observed what this people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which Yahuah chose, He has rejected them’? Thus they despise My people, no longer are they as a nation in their sight. Thus says Yahuah, ‘If My covenant for day and night stand not, and the fixed patterns of heaven and earth I have not established, then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, not taking from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.’” Romans 11:28, 29 From the standpoint of the gospel they (the people of Israel) are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they (the people of Israel) are beloved for the sake of the fathers; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
  14. Yahuah is God’s Celebration Name When Moses met God at the burning bush, he asked curious question: And Moses said to God, Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they may say to me, What is His name? What do I say to them?' Exodus 3:13 The query I would like to pose is: why did Moses ask this question in the first place? I solicited a reaction from my son and he thought it might have been because Moses knew of so many different gods in Egypt, and after 400 years in captivity, the Israelites no longer retained the name of their forefather’s God. Interesting point, that I’m sure lots of people might have already considered . . . but probably not. Moses named his second son Eliezer, a theophoric name meaning El is help. This is the very El name in Exodus 6:3 that God says is the name by which He appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So the Israelites did retain this name, and Moses demonstrated that he himself knew about it by naming his second son Eliezer. Think about the unique way by which God manifested His presence at the burning bush that prompted Moses to ask this question. Just earlier in Exodus 3:2, it states that, “The angel of Yahuah appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush.” Moses wasn’t talking to a burning bush. He was interacting with a messenger of God in the midst of this burning bush. And just as Sampson’s father Manoah had asked the angel of Yahuah what his name was in Judges 13:17, Moses may have felt peculiar but at ease enough with the human form of this Angel to ask the question, by what name for God should he take to the Israelites. As it turned out, this wouldn’t be the only incident where Moses interacted with this angel. In fact, this particular manifestation of God’s presence, demonstrated by the messenger of Yahuah inside the mysterious fire that would guide Moses and the Israelites from the time they leave Egypt, to their arrival in the Promised Land. Both this angel of Yahuah and the pillar of cloud & fire are seen concurrently with each other for the first time in Exodus 14. “The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.” Exodus 14:19 There is something very special about this angel of God that guards and guides the people of Israel as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He actually has the name of Yahuah IN HIM: “Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.” (Exodus 23:20, 21) There’s something else that’s absolutely remarkable about this angel of Yahuah, who appears as a pillar of cloud and fire. We find this angel preceding Moses up Mount Sinai in the following chapter of Exodus and manifesting the glory of Yahuah at the top of the mountian. “The glory of Yahuah rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of Yahuah was like a consuming fire on the mountain top.” (Exodus 24:16, 17) How do we know it was this same pillar of cloud and fire that led the Israelites in the wilderness that manifested the presence of Yahuah over Mount Sinai? All of the references to this Hebrew term for cloud (Strongs #H6050) in Exodus refer to a supernatural cloud that represented the guiding presence of God. Moses and the elders could only have ascended up the mountain once the pillar of cloud / fire lifted from the camp. Exodus 40:36, Numbers 9:22, 10:34 It was this very angel, enshrouded by cloud and fire that descended on the tabernacle and filled it with the glory of God’s presence. Exodus 40:34, 35, Numbers 9:15, 16:42, Deuteronomy 31:15, And this manifestation of God’s glory was not just reserved for Mount Sinai and wilderness tabernacle. We find this same cloud of God’s glory filling Solomon’s Temple in 1Kings 8:10,11 and Ezekiel’s temple in Ezekiel 10:3, 4. So what’s the point? Clearly, this angel of God, who appeared within the fire of the burning bush, and the pillar of cloud & fire throughout the Old Testament is a significant character in scripture, but what does this all have to do with why you and I should call on God’s sacred name? The reason we walked through this brief topical study of the angel in the burning bush will be apparent shortly, but for now, let’s first reflect on God’s response to Moses’ question. “Therefore you shall say to the sons of Israel, Yahuah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. THIS IS MY NAME FOREVER, and THIS IS MY CELEBRATION NAME TO ALL GENERATIONS” Resisting the temptation to write a commentary on this deeply significant passage, we’ll simply ask you to consider two simple questions: Is there anything about the statement, “This is my name forever, and this is my celebration name to all generations” that would lead you to believe that God ever wanted us to stop using this name? Since this is God’s celebration (zêker Strong’s #2143) name, why wouldn’t every believer rejoice with the prospect of releasing His true name as an act of love and worship to the one who redeemed us? We’re just scratching the surface on this study, but we’ll make just one more final observation about our angel in the burning bush to tie Him together with this imperative God gave to celebrate Him by using His sacred name. Are you ready for this? This messenger of God in the burning bush and the pillar of cloud & fire would usher in the manifest presence or the glory of God as Moses and the Israelites called on and worshiped the sacred name of God. “Yahuah descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of Yahuah.” Exodus 34:5 And all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify Yahuah, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised Yahuah saying, "He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting," then the house, the house of Yahuah, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahuah filled the house of God. 2Ch 5:12 - 14 This is God’s celebration name because God’s glory is manifested when His children worship and call on His name Yahuah. I believe this angel in the burning bush was actually a theophany, or a pre-incarnate appearance of MeshiYah, and as we utter the Father’s name Yahuah, we are calling on the redemptive heart of God and manifest the glory of His son into our here and now.
