My interests are being happy, but then again I feel happyness is overrated, Whenever I'm happy, I never get anything done and I get fat and lazy, so maybe its the pursute of happyness that makes me happier than acually being in a state of happyness.

    WARNING

yes the catholic church is in some hot water...interesting....i wonder if the cause is celebicy? sex is after all a normal bio-function, the opposite i would think would not be a peaceful stress free existance. i would imagine celebits life long denial of normal drives, is bound too cause phycological effects and or damage. .... .... look how it affected mr.spock!......
  2. agman vrs. teri...round 1....GO! im kidding... maybe everyone believes in god (agman too) taking into consideration everyones personal definition of Who God Is, which I assume would be different for each individual, even inside the same denominations, who try their hardest to outline Who-God-Is within the limitations of written creed, and the creed written when the masses demand a comprehendable description of the word "GOD". if one could define god, then would it still be god one is defineing? maybe agmans god is whatever he follows

    HOW LONG?

my step father, now retired doctor, is completely pennyless because he never saved a cent, convinced that the rapture was to happen within whatever decade we were living in at the time. we collected and read every christian prophecy book that came out at the time (my favorite is "88 reasons why the rapture will happen in 1988"). my personal opinion is a hundred or two hundred years from now people will still interpret scriptural prophecy as current events, refer to history for a perspective on this.
  4. the mormon dogma teaches that non mormon christians will all go to heaven. in fact mormons think that most individuals will go to one of the 3 levels of heaven and very few will go to #### (the outer darkeness) except people like hitler, etc., in the outer darkness, you just cease to exist..... so is the mormon view of ####...... compared to the traditional christian idea that the majority of all Gods creation is doomed to eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth in everlasting ####... which dogma illustrates more compassion?
  5. i too have noticed the conversion of oprah to white witchcraft. wether or not she is a christian or a "white"witch is a important Question, because she has such a wide influence upon our society, we should be careful about her true intentions in her lifes work. how is someone to know if she is really is a real witch?, what do the leaders of the Church say about witches? quoting influential authors Heinrich Kramer and James Srenger..... "but if nethier threats or promises will induce her to confess the truth, then the officers must proceed with the sentence, and she must be examined, lightly or heavily acourding to the nature of her crimes.and while she is being Questioned, let her often and frequently be exposed to torture, begining with the more gental of them; for the judge should not be to hasty to procded with the graver kind. if she confesses under torture, she should be taken to another place and questioned anew, so that she does not confess only under the stress of torture. if she refuses to confess the truth, the judge should have otherengines of torture brought before her. the torture must be continued for two or three days." From the Book, "MALLEUS MALEFICARUM" 1484 a.d.
  6. its true jesus said "i am the way, the truth..ect." jesus also said the humble (poor in pride ,unassuming) will go to heaven . and the pure of heart will see God. the peace makers will be called the sons of God. "blesssed are those who are persecuted for the sake of justice, thiers is the kingdom of god." jesus also said "whoever therefore tries to weaken even one of these commandments (the ones i just quoted), and teaches men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but amy one who observes and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven" jesus also says, "whoever becomes angry with his brother for no reason is giulty before the court.....whoever says to his brother Raca (which means, i spit on you), is guilty before the congegation....whoever says to his brother, you are effeminate (aramaic word for brutish, abnormal) is condemed to #### fire. jesus also says, love your enemies...etc...so that you may become sons of God. this is why i think humans (like Paul) add to what jesus said, turning jesuses message into a fundammentalist dogma , instead of giving jesus the athourity to say for him self how one goes to heaven, many people prefer to follow the opinions of man....
  7. I attended a "cult" for about a year. I never offically became a member of the Bahi'a group but It was a positive experience...Most Bahi'a come from a muslim/ eastern background who have rejected islamic fundamentalism in exchange for more universal views. it was a very positive group of people in my opinion, and i witnessed alot of growth... they run a organzation to shelter refugee afgan/iranian widows (before sept.11). half of the members adopt orphans. and i see them at every human rights and "tolerance" themed events that comes our way........ but the reaction from by conservative christian friends and family was complete speechless horror at the notion that i was in a "cult". Of course, no one could tell me one specific thing Baha'i taught, but they concluded (maybe because of the pursian name?) that Baha'i must be satans own personal creation of deception, evil to the core...
  8. yes, it adresses the book of mormon, but the topic of the book, is how, why, mormons get their dogma from the bible, how they read they exact same verses but interpret them diffrently, i think the point of the book is trying to illustrate that there is a form of logic to mormon doctrine, one doesnt have to agree with it to recogize the logic behind it. educational, thats all....i happen to live in a state that has the highest percentage of mormons (per capita) than any other state (idaho)...Every public school here has a mormon seminary biulding next to it, in which a student can recieve a credit for attending..( where is seperation of church and state?!?!?)
  9. depends how you define gods word, why limit gods comunication to a good set of books, if god is truly omni present, i would think he has the freedom to use whatever medium(tool) that is nessesary to reach an individual, even the words of the the next song you hear could be communication from god. if we are truly submersed inside of God, (omnipresence), i would think god comunicates with whoever wants to listen.
  10. wow totally cool site man. its nice to find someone you regognizes the value of science and uses the mathmatical nature of Reality to perceive attributes of Truth (God) I have come to many of the same conclutions but i interpret the data slightly differently. its true math has the inability to define infinity , or have the ability to explain the Whole Truth, always to be an aproximation. this issue is part of a fundemental principle in science that the laws of science are not the observations, and that experiments are all ways innacurate. the laws are extrapolations into the unknown, not something that the observations insist upon. (wave vrs. partical, classic vrs quantum) every scientific law , or statement of the results of an observation is some kind of a summary which leaves out details, because nothing can be stated precisly. and math being the launguage that quantifies a complex sytem that is indescribable within the limitations of math(thus maths inability to define infinity (or a unified field for that matter). you say, "truth therfore should be some kind of presentation that works like the universe" it must present itself from outside the observers frame of reference" truth can only be recognised when the private perspective is denied" "no logical system will ever be done forming and can never cover everything and never represent Truth"..... anyway, making a conclution that humans can only perseive "fuzzy "Truth... do you think that all your conclutions reflect an attribute of the Truth(GOD) to be of non-duelistic nature? do you think supersymitry, unified field, the equalibrium in wave mechanics, convey an aspect of the Whole Truth. Budhism and Toa seem to embody this thinking more so than dualistic nature of Truth as percieved by mainstream christian doctrine. cool web site i will read it more
  11. for risk of sounding self rightoues, i was never afraid to declare my christianity, i passed out bibles, i wore clothes with jesus written all over it, and sang in a christian rock band, even managed to win over a few
  12. thank you, that starts off my morning positive! peace too you
  13. i beleive that god, the trinity in its omni presence, can hear all prayers, even if the name used is varied.I do not think that humans, with our limitations, are required to sound out the correct pronouniation of gods name, in order to be heard

    Suicide

    i agree with RW. amen
  15. dudes, im not anti bible, my motivation is to grow internally, i consider the red words of the bible, Comunication from God, yes i think jesus is god (but wait- now we have to define the word "god" within the limitations of written lauguage) but then again i think god communicates with anyone who listens and with what ever "tools" are handy at the time
