  1. Will, perhaps that's what they did! I would have to ask my family member. Well, one of these days, hopefully you'll have $160 lying around and you can go get it done! lol
  2. Hahaha I know we're all descendants from Adam and Eve, I just prefer not to think about it... Plus, I figure by now, we're all so distantly related it's not anything to be grossed out by anyway (don't tell me otherwise, I WOULD like to get married and have children one day LOL). ;-) I actually do find genealogy very intriguing! My family was somehow able to (don't ask me how) trace our lineage as far back to the Judah tribe, the same tribe Jesus was from! I don't know if it's legitimate or not, because I don't see how they could trace it back that far, but it IS awesome to think about. ;-)
  3. Would you please share a verse that is special to you or really helped you through a time of distress? Or perhaps one that just seemed to resonate with you and has always stuck with you? For myself, it would be Psalm 51. I really love it, particularly verse 10, "create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."
  4. Those are all valid points, Boash. :-) I hadn't really looked at it that way, that those before Christ were looking TO the cross, whereas those of us AFTER Christ look back to the Cross. I like that. :-)
  5. Thank you so much for you answers, both of you. Shiloh, I really appreciate your response, it helped a lot. I did not know that the people of Noah's time laughed and mocked him when he preached the gospel. You're also correct about the time gaps in reference to Adam and Eve. I had thought about that, but I still wanted to ask. lol I guess it's gross to my that Cain would marry his own sister, so I guess thats why I was kind of hoping God had maybe made other people AFTER He had made Adam and Eve, but just didn't mention them. For all we know, He may very well have. *shrugs*
  6. I'll start with my first question: I have decided to read the Bible, all the way through (as opposed to jumping around from scripture to scripture). I am currently in Genesis. In reading the first couple of chapters, I have a few questions: 1) God created Adam and Eve. They bore two sons (at the time) Cain and Able. When Cain killed Able, God sent him out of Eden. When God tells Cain He is going to do this, Cain replies with, "My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” WHO could kill him? As far as we know, there are no other people on Earth... AND, who was Cain's wife? 2) God flooded the earth to get rid of all the people, save for Noah. What happened to those people when they died? Did they all go to Hell? 3) God knows everything. Didn't He know that the people would become corrupt? Didn't He foresee that they would be wicked? Why wasn't Jesus born during that time to save all of those people as well? I'm sure these questions are probably not able to be answered, but, I am just trying to make sense of things and praying the Lord will guide me to the answer(s) I need. In case you can't tell, I am very analytical and tend to pick things apart. :-/
