I'll start with my first question:
I have decided to read the Bible, all the way through (as opposed to jumping around from scripture to scripture). I am currently in Genesis. In reading the first couple of chapters, I have a few questions:
1) God created Adam and Eve. They bore two sons (at the time) Cain and Able. When Cain killed Able, God sent him out of Eden. When God tells Cain He is going to do this, Cain replies with, "My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” WHO could kill him? As far as we know, there are no other people on Earth... AND, who was Cain's wife?
2) God flooded the earth to get rid of all the people, save for Noah. What happened to those people when they died? Did they all go to Hell?
3) God knows everything. Didn't He know that the people would become corrupt? Didn't He foresee that they would be wicked? Why wasn't Jesus born during that time to save all of those people as well?
I'm sure these questions are probably not able to be answered, but, I am just trying to make sense of things and praying the Lord will guide me to the answer(s) I need. In case you can't tell, I am very analytical and tend to pick things apart. :-/
