  1. John 1:10-13 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. What is a Christian? A Child of God. Luke 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
  2. I hope this movie is as good as Passion of the Christ. I thought that movie was excellent. I believe the graphic display of the punishment and crucifixion of Jesus did a good job of showing the hatred and violence that mankind is capable of. Some people were offended by the truth of the violence and the catholic influence. One of the most touching parts of the movie to me was when they reflected on Jesus in his childhood and he fell and his mom ( Mary) ran to protect him. After the movie it did give me a whole different perspective of Mary. What she had to see her son go thru, had to be devastating. Can't wait to see Son of God. I thought using the language at the time and subtitles in Passion of the Christ was a genius move by the makers of the movie. And the guy playing Jesus in The Passion will be hard to compete with. He did an excellent job. So to me they have some big shoes to fill but I hope they exceed the Passion of the Christ.
  3. R these comments really necessary. Is that the way it is on this board....if you disagree...u get dogged...obviously u have a passion for your thoughts...just let the derogatory and self praise comments go...it is not very appealing...especially on a Christian board...I appreciate a different view because it makes you dig into the Holy Word... And you seem to view it as a suicide. Suicide is the "act of taking one's own life". What.......Jesus bore our sins...not God's wrath...he came to save us from God's wrath.. Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. 1 Peter 2:23-25 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. Romans 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, Romans 5:9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! Matthew 26:52-54 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?” Jesus called to his Father and his Father will at once put at his disposal. Jesus did everything thru his Father. Your whole argument hinges on this one little scripture....No one takes it from me, ....and it is resolve with one little line....no one took it from him he surrendered it....thank you Parker...good word.. Surrender.....sur·ren·der [suh-ren-der] - to yield (something) to the possession or power of another; deliver up possession of on demand or under duress: to surrender the fort to the enemy; to surrender the stolen goods to the police. - to give up, abandon, or relinquish (comfort, hope, etc.). Romans 3:25-26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. shed blood -to cause blood to flow. - to kill by violence; slaughter. Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth;he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,so he did not open his mouth. slaugh·ter - the brutal or violent killing of a person. - to kill in a brutal or violent manner.
  4. In a way everybody might be sort of right....if we believe Mary, Israel, is part of the New Jerusalem....I believe it is New Jerusalem..I also believe Wisdom that is personified as a women in proverbs may be New Jerusalem..somehow or another.. New Jerusalem could represent a powerful woman in Heaven ...scripture says she is our Mother...in a way she did give birth to Jesus if you look at Mary being a part of the New Jerusalem and Israel being part of the New Jerusalem......I feel like she represents all born again children of Almighty God.....Jews and Gentiles....The bride of the Lamb...it doesn't say she is God...but is protected by God.....It says Satan got thrown to earth and pursued her...and her offspring.......I feel New Jerusalem is alive and well and will come to earth someday....when the final tribulation and wrath of Almighty God is complete...
  5. I started a new thread about the sacrifice of Jesus. continued from the catholic saved thread... To me Revelation 13:8 could be translated Jesus (the lamb) was killed (was slain) from mankind (creation of the world). When it says he was put to death...sounds like crucifixion killed him...and out of the control of Jesus I believe Jesus chose to die, otherwise no one would have had the power to kill him. My point is he was killed by the Romans and the Jews. Shiloh357 thinks he chose to die and no one killed him When the heathens sacrificed people they forced people to die. Nobody forced Jesus to be a sacrifice..he chose it...he laid it down of his own accord...he went as a willing innocent lamb...He even felt forsaken by his own Father...forsaken means abandoned...and he said the same thing all Children of God will say at their last breath...Father, into your hands I commit my spirit....as far as being at 3:00...That is a God thing...I don't believe in coincidence..God the Father was in contro... Mankind made the ultimate sacrifice to God the Father for all of mankinds sin by sacrificing his Son Jesus. Mankind didnt realize what they were doing...but they fulfilled the will of Almighty God... I don't view it this way...because it takes the focus away from the Cross. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 I feel the only way to really understand the Wrath of Almighty God is to understand what we (the human race) have done and the need for remorse and repentence. The following parable attempts to explain the consequences of betraying Jesus.. . I know how Shiloh357 feels...Do the rest of you feel Jesus death is meaningless if Jesus was killed, crucified by mankind? Shiloh357 said that is how we are to view it....I am not sure who the we is because it sure is not me...maybe this whole board feels that way...and that is the we he is talking about... This is a board what do you think? you either believe Jesus A) chose to die ......so mankind had the power to kill him. or B) chose to die ......mankind had no part in his death. Thanks for any feedback.
  6. I understand what you are trying to say. It is accountability thing for you. You believe Jesus had to die for us but feel no remorse for the actual killing of Jesus. You say Jesus controlled his death....I blame mankind, all of us for his murder. You have no need to repent for the killing of Jesus and I felt responsible for killing of Jesus so I told him in tears of sorrow ...I am sorry... Please forgive me.... You thanked him for his sacrifice for your sins but do not hold any responsibility of his death on yourself... Shiloh357 But the OTHER side of the coin deals with the theology of Jesus’ death, which is the part you are not paying any attention to. Jesus’ crucifixion, while carried out by men , was not the cause of Jesus death, when examined from the theological vantage point. Jesus didn’t die from crucifixion. Crucify means put to death by nailing or binding the hands and feet to a cross. Then if he didn't die from crucifixion then he wasn't crucified because crucify means put to death. The Cross would mean nothing to you since he wasn't crucified. He wasn't killed..... he wasn't crucified. What is your agenda in all this? Because there is about another 100 scriptures that say Jesus was crucified which means put to death, killed, murdered, executed by mankind. When Jesus was on the cross ..it was the Lamb of God...a Lamb is completely helpless, he was completely in the hands of his father. His Fathers will. God the Father determined the timing of his death. Do you believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My question for you...all the praying that Jesus did on earth...was he praying to himself or to God the Father. I think that is why you have trouble understanding that Jesus was killed by Mankind. And when he laid down his life for us ...he was helpless as a Lamb .....of God...
  7. Revelation 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying:“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. Revelation 5:12 In a loud voice they were saying:“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Slain is past version of slay ....slay means kill.....slain means killed. John 1:29, 36 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” 1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. sacrifice - : an act of killing a person or animal in a religious ceremony as an offering to please a god : a person or animal that is killed in a sacrifice Romans 3:25-26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Philippians 2:5-11 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father. The only thing I can add is... A few years back Mel Gipson directed a movie called Passion of the Christ. About the closest thing to bringing the Bible to life that you will ever see. It is graphic...I think rated R... Another movie that may help is Chronicle of Narnia the first one. More of a fairy tale but u can see the kind of how it parallels the Bible in the regards to the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You may be able to find both of them at your local library. The are worth the watch and they will visually help you understand what Jesus did for all of mankind. They give you a sense of what the Bible says Jesus went thru. Nothing can recreate that horrific time but I'm thankful that somebody had the courage to try.
  8. Man crucified Him. Jesus was in total control of the events surrounding His death. Jesus was not killed by the efforts of man. Jesus did what none of can do: Jesus gave up His spirit. He died at exactly 3pm, the exact moment the passover lamb was killed in Jerusalem. Jesus didn't die from the effects of crucifixion. He died at the moment He chose to die and not one second sooner or later. Here's what Jesus said: No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Joh 10:18 Jesus gave His life. Man did not take His life from Him. Jesus death was voluntary sacrifice Note this passage also: Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 1Co 5:7 To call Jesus' death anything but a sacrifice is to cast a shadow on the value and meaning of His death. The ONLY value the death of Jesus is given in Scripture is that of a sacrifice for sin. (Hebrews 10) Jesus was quoting from Psalm 22, a prophecy of His death on the cross. Jesus' death is meaningless if Jesus died due to the will of man. Jesus' death was His own doing and as God Jesus was sovereign over those who were crucifying Him. Jesus' gave His life as a sacrifice for sin and He used men to accomplish it. But his death was a not murder, it was not an execution, it was not an act of martyrdom. Jesus was not at the mercy of men, but was fulfilling the will of His Father that was already in place before the foundations of earth were laid. That is referencing the taking of innocent blood. It is not a reference to Jesus, particular. The "just one" or as you have it, "the innocent one" in Greek is tōn dikaion and it references a particular class of person. It is a generic word that doesn't refer to one specific person, but is a general term that is simply applied to innocent people. John 19:11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” Greater sin...if Jesus death is his own doing then why was it considered a greater sin When Jesus says no man takes his life from him ....that means he wouldn't resist.. At any time Jesus could have called a legion of angels. Jesus made himself powerless to fulfill scripture . And he was killed by man in a horrific way. Killing a innocent man is a great sin. If no man takes his life with your approach then it wasn't a sin because according to you man didn't kill him. Matthew 26:52-54 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?” John 8:37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. Acts 3:13-15 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. Matthew 17:11-12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” The same way. Elijah was killed by man. Jesus was killed by man. The same way. Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Did not spare his son to be killed by man. There is about 50 more scriptures saying Jesus was killed. Come on man.
  9. Mark 9:31 because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.” Jesus said they will kill him... The reason I believe he is Lord God Almighty and my christian faith is based on is he overcame death by being killed. If he never was killed then he was never resurrected. He may have allowed it...chose it...but they still killed him.. Many people have died or been killed and came back to life...but they died again. Jesus was killed...came back to his body in three days and ascended into heaven in his body even came back in a different body that is pretty impressive. Nobody has ever done that. That is why he is Lord God Almighty. My faith comes in believing this actually happened. And he has the keys to heaven and hell. I want to live with him in Heaven and the new earth. And I even get a new body. It is exciting. That info keeps me joyful always. From an observational point of view it appears that Jesus was killed. But ultimately Jesus' death was a sacrifice of Himself. Jesus' death was the product of man's efforts. Jesus could hung on the cross for 100 years if He had wanted to and the Romans would not have been able to do anything about it. In John 10, Jesus said that no man takes His life from Him, and that he gives it up of His own will. Jesus was not murdered, executed nor was he a martyr. Jesus' death was a sacrifice. When we attribute Jesus' death to any effort of man, we diminish its significance. Jesus gave His life. No one took it from Him. That sounds like suicide. Jesus didn't sacrifice himself. Man sacrificed him. When they sacrificed lambs on the alter...did the lamb sacrifice itself...no....man sacrificed the lamb Y did Jesus holler out y did you forsake me...to his father...Jesus was feeling forsaken by his own father... it doesn't diminish anything for me...in fact it helps me understand the wrath of Almighty God. When you realize what innocent Jesus had to do for my sins...it brings me to tears...and he still forgives mankind...if they repent...if people are to proud to repent for what they did to Jesus they deserve the wrath...God chose to bring this sacrifice through his chosen people for all mankind....Jews slaughtered lamb after lamb for years...and they slaughtered the Lamb of God...for all of us...The whole world should get down on their knees and thank the Jews...they turned him over to the Romans for the ultimate sacrifice by mankind...otherwise friends and relatives...we were all heading to eternal damnation... James 5:6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.
  10. Matthew 18:6-7 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! I happen to believe...raping a child in the house of God in the name of Jesus is a unforgivable sin...blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.. one thing for a heathen to rape a child...but to be a priest...i don't know how much worse you can be...obviously no fear of Jesus... Revelation 14:10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. Jesus has authority over hell and he doesn't have problems observing torture to the guilty. Another reason everybody should take their faith with him with some fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, These poor innocent child victims might not get justice in this world like they should but they will get justice...vengeance is The Lord Jesus.

  12. I wouldn't attend. But I wouldn't stop them. If the Super Bowl authorities decided they wanted to glorify satan. Or if the schools did I wouldn't attend. Then you say.. other one, on 06 Feb 2014 - 03:22 AM, said: U would lose that wager. I believe in freedom and if the majority wants it...have at it. And I feel satanists should feel the same way i said i cringe when i hear moment of silence at a game... too me it is not good when you can shout louder for a team then you can for the author of life...without Jesus you wouldn't even have a team... if the majority of the US wants to worship of satan...have at it...if I don't like it...i move.....or i accept it and work around it and that same principle should apply to satanist or any other religion...if the majority of the US wants to worship Jesus...we should be able to have at it...and they can move...or accept it or work around it... I'm not talking about making anybody accept Jesus or even praying to him....I'm saying it would be nice to give him thanks for the blessings ..I would rather offend people than Almighty Jesus. reading your replies i guess i'm the only one offended by the moment of silence and not giving thanks to Jesus at public events...and I am a minority...so I will have to deal with it... The Holy Word instructs us to give Thanks always... maybe i'm out of the circle....did they change the bible...give thanks always but not at major sporting events...or entertainment events or any other event where a non-believer might be... thanks for the feedback...
  13. I just don't understand y a few make the majority deny their God. It doesn't seem right and shouldn't be tolerated. But it really doesn't bother a majority of Christians ...I guess I'm a minority and will have to live with it. U would lose that wager. I believe in freedom and if the majority wants it...have at it. And I feel satanists should feel the same way. You sure like to use blanket statements. Who are the "we" you keep talking about? We the people watching the game...Christians watching the game..Jesus says we r either with him or we r with satan...the more I pray on this the more lukewarm comes into my mind...Revelation says lukewarm is a bad place to be...
  14. So it's ok with you if a priest in the Church of Satan to pray to Satan before a football game or an assembly at your local school? I wouldn't attend. But I wouldn't stop them. If the Super Bowl authorities decided they wanted to glorify satan. Or if the schools did I wouldn't attend. Free will is a wonderful thing. And I expect them to feel the same way...if I had the authority of the Super Bowl and I wanted to glorify Jesus Christ and u don't like it...don't attend. Having free religion isn't about accommodating people. It's about giving thanks to Jesus in all activities you are involved in...that is Bible. Church of satan don't bother me at all...not giving glory to Jesus bothers me.. My point is if the NFL owners are Christians is it more important to accommodate people or Jesus. The problem is it is all about their God....Almighty money.
  15. when I watch events like that..all that passes thru my mind is if your ashamed of me...I will be ashamed of you. we should be so thankful to Jesus to be able to play games and enjoy some fun... it seems like we honor the creation more than the creator...we give our country honor, players honor....y not give the author of life honor...we have become very weak willed...in my opinion
  16. I'm curious if I'm the only one that cringes when I hear the words moment of silence? It should be a moment to shout out Praises to Jesus Christ, Lord God Almighty Author of Life. I watched the National Championship and the Super Bowl....and it really sickens me...but I didn't hear Jesus Christ mentioned once. I think I heard God a couple times in a song or maybe one or two players. But my God has a name...a name above all names...Jesus Christ... I been to a lot of states across the US and seen a lot of churches in most towns and it is sad that in the biggest events of the United States his name can't even be mentioned. Football isn't a sin, having fun isn't a sin.....but failing to give glory to the Author of Life is a sin....and everybody involved with these activities should be ashamed of themselves....and you know what they can do with their moments of silence... According to the Bible there is only one thing you can brag on.......Jesus Christ....so please start bragging on him wherever you go. I'm not a big constitutional person... I'm not impressed by our forefathers...they failed us when they put In God we trust...It should have said In JESUS we trust...then there wouldn't be any confusion of who God is...And I wouldn't separate Jesus from anything ...Government...schools...super bowls...national titles...he would be front and center and honored and glorified....
