  1. No where in the Op does it say the spider built his web in a corner. Maybe he built it right out in the open, maybe on the altar, maybe on the cross on the wall. Maybe people were offended for different reasons. Maybe people were afraid to do anything themselves. Maybe they waited until the spider was not around and destroyed his web. Maybe his web does not represent his home. Maybe it represents the doctrine he believes, or maybe it represents his character, who he is as a person. Maybe there are other spiders who feel intimidated by the new spider. How can we make decisions without knowing the whole story. Maybe it's just easier to destroy the web and hope the spider goes away.
  2. Once upon a time there was a church organization. They did some things right. They did some things wrong. But they ran a smooth ship with all their rules. Then one day along came a spider. He was noticed right away. Some people screamed in horror. Others said, it's only a spider. The spider built a web. Then the spider woke up in the morning and the web was gone. Someone tore it down during the night. The spider knew not what to do. The problem seems that the cleaning crew swept through during the night and cleaned up everything given to them on their list. But the spider was left behind. He thought that maybe he was in the wrong church. They looked good from the outside, but he saw problems on the inside. If you were this spider, what would you do?
  3. I have been thinking about this. I see that RuthEster, who started this thread looking for answers, has not been on since Wednesday and I wrote my previously answer on Thursday. I think I will start a new thread on this subject elsewhere. Which forum is best? Anyone?
  4. Sounds scary. When is this happening, tomorrow? What happens Monday? Israel goes to war with the world? Is Israel in prophesy the land or the people? The Bible says pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And we know that can't happen until the Messiah returns. So we pray for the return of Jesus Christ. That's all we need to do. That's all we're told to do. Am I right?
  5. Okay, my turn. If someone were to hand me a Bible written in Greek, I would look at it and say, "that's all Greek to me". That's how I feel about the KJV. It's all greek to me. It is not the same English I speak. So why should I try to read something I don't know how to read? Especially when I have a perfectly good Thompson Chain Reference Bible NIV Large Print 1984 edition available at my fingertips that I am well versed in using. I speak English, American English. I'm an American.
  6. Hi Ruth, I hope you are around to hear my answer. I've heard voices. Are they from God? I hope so. Here is a way to look at hearing from God. God will always say what can be confirmed in his word, the Bible. The Bible is complete. There is nothing new under the sun. What did you hear God say to you? Can you back it up in the Bible? There's a good chance you are hearing him if you can. How can you know for sure? Trust and obey. Trust you have heard from God and obey what he says, asd long as you know the Bible backs it up. God will never confuse you or play games with your mind. He is probably speaking to you right now. Do you hear him? Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus,is to trust and obey. Amen!
  7. Sort of like "You are a pillar in the Roman Catholic Church". Something like that?
  8. Hi Jeff, what happens if you and I do not see Scripture the same way. Who's right and who's wrong in that case?
  9. Hi LadyKay. I would like to share with you. God's will is everywhere throughout the New Testament. If we have an open mind to it, as we read we will constantly see God telling us what his will for us is. It sounds like what you are saying is that you are looking for a special calling from God in your life. And that special calling may be as who've already described. As we are all part of one body, not all of us will get a calling to build a homeless shelter, or work in one, or finance one, or even have a burden to pray for one. But if any of those are not your calling, when the day comes, you will know your calling and God will provide a way for it to happen. In the meantime, we can continue to learn God's will by reading his word daily.
  10. I can be an annoyance to others as they are an annoyance to me. People giving poor advice to another really bothers me. And sometimes my answer to them is not received well. Double annoyance.
  11. Oh yes, that is an annoyance. I've seen people be so polite that they actually create a hazard and a possible accident. If you have the right of way, take it, there's a reason for it.
