1 Peter 2:4 And coming to Him as to living stone which has been rejected by men, but choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for holy priesthood... So what do you think exactly is being said here?

I wonder if you can hook up a key board to your smartphone. ? It would make explaing what I want to say much easier. I know it says angels later, but after typing and posting, I didn't feel like going back again and correcting it by saying 'reapers'.(which my bible says). So I made the assumption most people already knew what I meant. Tho I am aware bopeep is very knowledgeable in the scriptures.

The tares among the wheat. My question is, why would the angels mistakenly uproot the wheat with the tares, cannot they do their job adequatly? Or are some of the tares going to become wheat? (Unbelievers into believers). Or something that has to do with immature believers looking like tares.

"But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children, and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance, we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.' Explanation?

“to keep thee in all thy ways” is very significant in that it connects with the Scripture which says "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths" (Prov 3:6). Had this been ignored, Jesus would have been out of the Father's will. His path was to the Cross, not public acclaim. Satan is far more intelligent than any human, and he could probably quote Scripture perfectly should be choose to do so. But he uses Scripture to deceive and confuse those not familiar with it. I wonder if Satan spoke scripture accurately, he might slay himself.

I don't see how that one sentence omitted by the devil actually changed the meaning of what was being said. Maybe Satan CAN'T speak the complete Word.

I started with an niv. Tho now I do not like it, I do recall a specific time when the Holy Spirit drew me to it when I walked past it for me to read. I had no doubt, I KNEW it, it was very obvious. So I believe God can use probably most versions to speak to us.

I like the nasb. I trust it the most because of what is said of by seasoned teachers. Actually, it is quite similar to the nkjv. But I will no way ever try to learn and understand the kjv. That would by an impediment to someone trying to learn scriptures. Plus, I heard it was all translated from Greek?

When Jesus is being tempted in the wilderness, Satan is speaking God's word to Jesus Such as in Luke 4:10. 'He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you...' Ok, sounds like a war of words both using God's word. Weird. ? Anyway, I guess the devil can use God's own word in a deceiving way then. How important it is to know the whole Word of God then! Anymore thoughts/explanations on this subject?

But really, that was many years ago, it doesn't happen anymore, I don't think. Except maybe online now. Lol.

Yes, and that was what I was thinking, and my question is why? Because you ARE clean before God. That is exactly what I was thinking. You have done nothing wrong.
-
For crying out loud havent people had that happen when you did nothing to deserve it? So your hands were clean. That has happened quite frequently in my life. Maybe not to everyone. I have had people just hate me. I didn't do anything to them at all.

But it says, if your brother has something against you, not you against your brother.
-
A little later Romans says: 2:9 'There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of a man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek... (Gentile) So, what is the significance of that? I was asking the first question with this in mind also because it gives it a different perspective. So why the Jew first? So they get thrown into hell slightly before the Gentiles? I'm serious.

'Therefore if you are presenting your offer at the altar, and the there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering at the alter and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.' So my question is: Why?

Ok. This has been my own personal experience some years ago. I didn't ask for it either. A couple of times the Holy Spirit moved me to lay hands and pray for two people in my church and they got healed. These people also believed in that stuff and had no qualms. Of course being around other people that needed healing, did God move me? No. Did I ever try just to test it out? Yes. IMO God is sovereign in all this. People go to healing ministries and not everyone gets healed. Why? Don't know. Some don t really want it. Some people heart isn't right ( I hear that unforgivenss is a biggie). This is all I really am aware of on the subject. In other countries rather than america, like in third world countries, they see much more of healing and miracles. Some people are only half hearted following God. I was on a state of bedridden 15 years ago which made me seek out the Lord. He certainly used it for me to seek for Him.

Actually, when I first post on my phone it is tiny, smaller than ever one elses. But then when I come back it is normal size.

Interesting. So sounds like Paul was telling Christians to be involved in politics.

Went thru my post history... So I'm getting that a sign and a wonder are various things like a wonder could be a healing, shriveling a fig tree, etc. And sign is a back up to the word, which could be anything, but these sound like the same things to me. So signs and wonders have the same definition.

Good reply's. So being strong in the Lord is something to do before hand to be ready when needed, rather than suddenly thinking you need it and trying at that moment to be strong in the Lord. That's what didn't click. Which does say that in Ephesians, to put your armour on to be ready. And of course spending time in His word with Him, and knowing it to be able to recite it. Thanks.
-
Ephesians 6:10 Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Then tells you to put on the armour. How do we be strong in the Lord? By excersize the armour, as acting in righteousness,(breast plate of righteousness) keeping our faith up as in ( the shield of faith), speaking the word ( sword of the spirit) etc. So is this how we be strong in the Lord?

Yes,do not trust what you think or how you feel.Just focus on God.Thanks for that reminder...Though I do get led by the Holy Spirit ( as I probably need it more than many ) for a while there I was experiencing fear of the Lord and was a bit paranoid about making sure I was listening to Him and obeying. But I am glad I read this, because it is true I believe, for the most part tho I am open to believe in the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

I won't argue that you didn't see that happen, Pamela. I have learned that things happen that simply can't be explained by mortals. Did you see that at church? A Legitimate healing ministry. My answers are really short and to the point when I type on my phone.
