  2. Yes sir your right I don't know why it bugs me so much, just does, But you are right!
  3. Hi Y'all Sorry but this is another question that has a little to do with my Aunt (like my mom) and dress. At school we have a conservative uniform. skirt or slacks/pants, long sleeve oxford buttondown, and either crewneck or vneck sweater. This is the "winter uniform". As u guessed, I'm at a pvt school. The uniform rules also make us button the collar and sleeves like always! We have a little leeway. My quetion is, do you think its to startict I know its modest. My Aunt (mom) thinks that it's great. She even wants menow to wear button downs alot with collar buttoned even ouut of school, like when under a sweater. Is this somewhere where I would be right in disagreeing with her. I mean I am 16! She says that it's more christian and modest and looks better and neater. What do y'all think? I think its sort of in style but not sure. Someone said it was in the 80's, even some girls putting pins ot bows at the top button? I have no idea but thought some of you may? The school came up with the rule because lasy year some girls were sort of going to low (Not that bad tho!) Do you think my aunt has a right to tell me to dress like this sometimes? And on a lighter note, do y'all think it looks better or neater? Mostly better? Of course I'm just talking about the cold months. Sorry to bug everyone if I am. Katy
  4. alien YES I HAVE!!!!!! Doesn't cover using ma'am and sir though! I mean, what do you expect?" Is it important in your opinion. Sorry for sounding mad, but i do have manners!
  5. Hi y'all This post is sort of like another one I had but I am sort of stuck on thinking of this issue. i'm 16 and my Aunt (who I live with) and most adults where I'm from expect to hear yes ma'am that just yes/yea when answering adult. My aunt says that this is good manners as well as expected because she is an elder to me as well as authority figure. She said when I don't, it shows "willful disobedience" and I get in trouble. I tell her I forget which isn't exactly true but I don't see why it is needed always. I know some in the chatroom have explained things to me but I was trying to get other opinions also. I don't see it as a big deal but my Aunt does and maybe some of y'all here too? I am learning it's regional. What do you expect when being answered by teens, kids, etc. Ami I just being rebellious on purpose like My aunt says or do you agree with me? Sorry if i'm bugging y'all and thanks for responding. I do know I have a problem arguing back also, but at 16 shouldn't I be able to? My aunt thinks I should say "yes ma'am I understand but may we talk about it further?" instead of just arguing. I think thats overboard! Who is right? Katy
  6. Thanks y'all Hard for me to know if I should or shouldn't say it lol ALOT of different answers I'm supposed to say it and expected, so I guess I should. I think whn I don't I'm just trying to rebel or something? Not sure. Could that even be possible. Thanx again! I appreciate any comments
  7. I'm a teen in HS, i thought i would ask a ? here. I don't know how to do a new topic yet Hope this workss Sorry I'm supposed to be working on "cheerful obedience" with adults and elders whatever that means? anyone have any examples? I'm also supposed to be answering adults with respect I know its dumb but... Do adults expect/like to be answered with yes or yes ma'am/sir from teens? Does it matter? I asked in chat a few times and got different answers. Is that part of "cheerful obedience" Any examples of "cheerful obedience" is appreciated . I'm grounded now lol So I guess I do have to work on this. i'm known as "rebellious". I guess Thanks if you can help or anyone even sees this! Sorry charlotte but i'll move this somewhere if your mad and I figure out how to start a thread! byee Oh And I mean like if we were in person.
