Paul said " If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal." - 1.Cor. 13:1. I wonder many times, why Paul tells as the "Languages of Angels" (in plural) instead to tell "Language (singular) of Angels". Is it correct, Angels are speaking more than one language ? Did God confused the language of Angels in Heaven, when they rebelled against His rule ? ... as He did in Genesis 11, in case of human. Since Jesus prays like this : "Father ... your will may be fulfilled in earth as in Heaven ..."

There are two types of tongues: 1. Language of Earth 2. So no need for anyone to understand about what the neighbor is talking in tongues. If no one in this earth knows the meaning, then it may be from heavens. "Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow." - James 1:17. "Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them." - Acts 2:3 So, When Holy Spirit came first on the Church, He came just like a light ( fire ). In those day when the modern lamps were not invented, people used only the fire, as light. So, we could take this as, Holy Spirit came with the light of Heaven. In Genesis 1:1, Father tells "Let there be light" and light came. It means, God the Father use the WORD to create light. In other words, the Father God used JESUS to create the light, since He is the WORD in the beginning with Father. So, Holy Spirit came first on Church, with Heavenly Light which was created by Jesus in the beginning ... Listen, if He is WORD ... then He is the Word of all languages, irrespective of whether the language is either of Human or of Angels. So even if He spoke in tongues, THERE IS NO MIRACLE ON THAT, SINCE HE IS ALL WORD OF ALL LANGUAGES. Amen !

Yes Bopeep, Jesus did not speak in tongues because, there was no one there at that time of Him, having "Gift of Interpretation". Paul said "Do not speak in tongues if there is no one is to interpret, what you are speaking in tongues ..." In other words, Jesus may think, "Since the salvation for mankind is not fulfilled & the Holy Spirit is not be poured yet, it is not appropriate now to explain to the disciples about Gift of Holy Spirit ". I am thinking ... this is the reason why He was not speaking in tongues.

But I have some doubts on covering God's presence ... 1. If a cherub wants to cover God's presence, it must go very near to Him ... it means, coming very close to His presence ... I personally thank for this topic ... since the world must watch everything what's happening in the places, where the God's people are being tortured & going through the way of persecution. I pray for the Christians persecuted in Syria, Egypt, Iraq ... and every part of the world ... let we share our tears in God's presence and do something better whatever we could do for them ... " If suppose what he is talking is true as he thinks, then we the Christian missionaries in eastern nations are "fighting for nothing". I am seeing a lot of "good " people in India, who are very much non-Christians ... Even sometimes I am inspired a lot because of their timely help in my problems. But ... Bible tells very clear ... that ... Jesus is the ONLY WAY to go to God, the Father ... It means "Only" Jesus fulfilled the needs based on the Almighty God's requirements to save every soul. "Only " Jesus was punished for the sins of "All" man kind ... irrespective of which part of the world they are living ... Anyone who believes "Only" Jesus is the God ... it means ... he or she must be clear in such a way that, "No other gods exist anywhere in the whole creation" ... Thirdly we should also bear in mind that the Ark went missing (perhaps in the Babylonian conquest) maybe this was prevent it becoming an idol as the worship of God devolved in Judah - after all the bronze serpent had become an idol before and needed to be destroyed. Is it possible ... there any literal relationship between the "bronze serpent" & "the cherubim" models ? Why I ask this is .. in Bible every element has a unique mean ... like, ... gold, silver, bronze ... Cherubim is made up of gold, while the serpent is of bronze ... So I think, God wanted to tell something through these elementary selections ... I don't believe so - two inanimate objects cannot have a relationship - they are after all inanimate, so how can they relate to one another? The pedant in would point out bronze is an alloy and not an element. I would also suggest you have be very careful ascribing specific meanings to inanimate things in scripture. Take gold for example, sometimes it seems to point towards kingship (Matt 2:11), other times to purity (Zech 13:9) but also simply to point to wealth (Gen 13:2) sometimes it use is utterly negative, see for example Rev 17:4. I would suggest that this sort of speculation regarding a link is a blind alley that will lead to a dead end. Hi lavey, As you stated God is 3 persons, but He does not split Himself into many persons. Now my thoughts are - One is a dictator, Two is a division, Three is harmony. In music there are three strings in the body of the piano & when tuned properly they vibrate & make the note on the keyboard sound as one note. This to me is an example of the trinity - 3 persons sounding as one - the Godhead- unity, equality & unanimity (one mindedness). Anything more than 3 is just a multiple of the first ones.
