  1. to answer the thread title question, the simple response is----------- yes but that yes depends upon the person doing the science and that they are open minded enough to sense God's leading them to the truth and to himself. you cannot do science without faith. it takes too much faith to think that the origin of life developed by natural means as there is absolutely no evidence for a natural origin no matter what scientific field you are in.
  2. If you are going to represent God, claim to be a follower of God and then teach his word then you need to teach what God has said. God has said Adam and Eve are historical thus we believers teach that revelation. We do not follow secular science for that field is deceived and blind and does not follow the HS to the truth. I am happy to see different Christian universities making this stand and have supported many of them in the aftermath. We need our classrooms and our pulpits to be filled with pastors and teachers who side with God over what the secular world says. There will be an issue on academic integrity and freedom in our magazine in a few months
  3. Gravity has never been known to create anything. every time someone collides two rocks together, they destroy the rocks or one of them. they never integrate and combine to make a larger rock.
  4. i think the best chapter i read on slavery was found in the book titled the unpolitically correct guide to the Bible. too many people have the american history of slavery in their minds when they read those texts and that fact distorts their understanding of what the bible is saying. the Bible speaks in a manner that covers a lot of territory, for example when the Bible says 'do unto others... ' God is not just speaking to normal day to day believers but also to employers, slave owners, corporate heads, presidents of countries and so on. if you limit verses to item specific situations then you are missing out on what God is saying to the whole world and how he wants people to behave. the bible governs life, it is not governed by the different aspects of it.
  5. I will answer your question for you. YES you can be a christian and a physicist but you have to do the science God's way not the secular world's way. you need to seek the truth not speculation and assumption or wild eyed theories people like Hawking and others produce. one of the reasons believers have problems with secular science is because they listen to the secular world, and not God. The unbeliever did not invent science and does not own it thus they cannot make th erules which govern it. God has already made the rules and while they may not specifically say use these for science, they still apply to every activity in life. Read the Bible to get the rules.
  6. That is terrible logic and leaping to a conclusion without any evidence to support your allegation. I bet you didn't even consider the fact that the person's post was too long to quote or that I only wanted to address the topic? no you make asusmptions and interpret without clarifying first I am going to be coming less and less to these boards as I see things that I do not like.
  7. Interesting. Another poster doesn't agree with you so you proceed to tell them they're doing everything wrong and if they don't see your intent then they have the problem? With such thinking, how on earth do you even have a conversation with anyone? Or do you? if you read what she wrote you would see she was not disagreeing but saying that i said something that 'insulted her character'
  8. (Quoting kan) I have determined that you have no clue on the subject matter we are discussing. That makes no sense whatsoever as does the rest of your post. If you are trying to be a philosopher, I would suggest that you rethink that objective. Communication depend supon the othe rperson actually having a chance to understand what you are trying to say. If you are trying to be mystical, then don't because I have yet to seen bibnlical instruction permitting mysticism. But whatever you are trying to be or do, it is not working. You seem concerned that I am trying to do something or be something, "which is not working." I have no argument with you there. As you have determined, I "have no clue." In your previous post, your argument was that my post was a waste of time because it was stating the obvious, and you are saying that I am pushing mysticism. It can't be both, can it? It could mean that the obvious is a mystery to you, or that I am telling obvious mysteries. I was stating something which sounds simple and obvious, but actually is a mystery, so yes, I am trying to do something which is not working for you just now, maybe another time. But here it is again, how can you determine what time is, how long does something take? The atomic clock? Even it can be physically slowed or sped up under special conditions. Time is relative both by perception and measurement. i do not have time for your games. please do not address me again
  9. no. it has material components that are influenced by gravity
  10. you just learn how to counteract using God's ways and leading. I am putting out a new biblical magazine, it would help fight these guys if you help promote it and pass the word. Are you allowed to post a link, or an excerpt here? no. it is in my profile somewhere. I had posted it in my signature but was told that was against the rules.
  11. I would suggest not insulting people when you discuss with them. I have decided to stop particiating on this thread because it is going nowhere.

  14. no we don't. seasons may change but they do not mark time, just reminds us of its passing. the rest of your post has me responding like this: What are you talking about? you make no sense whatsoever. You would be better served by not stating the obvious or what everybody already knows.
  15. I hope so. Christians need to hear the truth and go with that and not with secular information that has no hope of containing the whole truth.
  16. There is nothing in the OT about using computers, flying in planes or sending mail either. your point is weak and nonsensical. your argument is stretched too thin. other methods would violate the new covenant because they violate do unto others and other passages of scripture, then you need ot make sure which OT rules are replaced by NT ones. Under your logic tattoos are okay under the new covenant yet like homosexuality, God hasn't chnaged his views about our bodies. it is very hypocritical, you need to re-examine your motives and desires before syaing things like that.
  17. there is only one use for a gun as well yet you have no problem with gun ownership right?
  18. I amsure you all are aware of the gigantic river flowing 4kms underneath the Amazon, right? http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2011/aug/26/underground-river-amazon Most likely, Atlantis refers to the pre-flood world, not some mythical kingdom. Whomever told Plato the story most likely embellished the information but sadly too many modern people take the ancient's writings as gospel truth instead of placing them in the correct categories covering the literary world. Scientists can explain many things but that doesn't mean they are correct
  19. It's about "Time". I've been hammering this on forums for better than 3 years now. Very refreshing to read this... it made my day, kudos to you sir. Just to add a few words to this. since time is a separate and not controled entity, speed has no affect on its passage. the time governing a person walking to work is the same for the man traveling at the speed of light. speed does not control time.
  20. There is only ONE use for plan b. Christian pharmacists I know feel quite strongly that they cant sell it. Nothing hypocritical about it. see my other post about hypocrisy
  21. we can go around and around on this all day and I for one do not want to get into an emotional argument or discussion. i would rather that you all keep things in perspective and not label something persecution when it is not. if i were a pharmacist i am sure i would have a problem with selling the pill but then maybe christian pharmacists should stop selling condoms, birth control and other methods that stop pregnancies if they do not want to be seen as hypocritical.
  22. if you are a christian and own a store that sells alcohol isn't that act going against Christian beliefs? Selling a product may not actually be supporting someone's lifestyle nor going against someone's faith. I would not be too quick to leap to conclusions that may present yourselves as hypocritical. Christians sell knives and other weapons which are used for purely anti-christian purposes should Christians stop selling everything because products can be used in an anti-christian way?
  23. I think so, as Christian observers we except that God is open and up front in His mysterious creations, although we may not fathom them, we may discover aspects which are not deceptive or self contradictory, rather like a small piece which is consistent and reflective of the greater. Relativity kind of states that if our reality is a DVD Movie that it can be played at any speed, relative to another DVD, and we cannot know how fast we are being played, except by comparing ourselves with the other DVD. It means that whatever goes on in the movie is consistent within itself, as well as for our speeding astronaut, who is travelling beyond the speed of light. But it also suggests that the other DVD for the astronaut is not a DVD. Which makes sense, if and only if, the parameters of matter are what we currently suppose. But I think there are greater contexts which we don't know about yet. Help. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, i had trouble at a previous connection. Your last line is what i want to address. Einstein and others di dnot formulate their theories from the real origin of the universe. All of their calculations are based upon their idea of how the universe came into being. In other words, they are using different parameters for their work so even though Einstein once said 'the math is correct' it really isn't.
