  1. Webspace is money and it takes less web space to post a link here than it does to write it all down when it is already written somewhere else, and to quote an old adage, there is nothing new Under the Sun.
  2. Yes the Holy Spirit is God and is Co-Equal & Co-Eternal with Jesus and the Father. There is no hierarchy in God but there is an order in God. No man can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him and no man can come to the Father unless it is through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit only comes to those who have confessed Jesus as their Lord & Savior and have received Him in baptism.
  3. I agree, and the role of the Holy Spirit is to be another advocate, not a subservient one. In a marriage, headship is responsibility, not necessarily authority. The Greek word used in 1st Corinthians 11:3 is κεφαλή (kephalē), which connotes someone or something in the primary place, the point of origin. God is authority over all, but he operates in a certain fashion through certain people or functions. As Paul said, he is a God of Order. 1 Cor 14.
  4. Sorry, but again the Holy Spirit and Jesus, glorify God and God in turn will or has glorified them. I know this sounds kind of technical but it's based on what the New Testament teaches us about who glorifies God and why. We as Believers are also called to glorify God in our lives and as such we do so by living a Christ-like existence. Glorify means to reveal or make God clearer to the world by our actions. As a Christian, it is presupposed that God ALONE is Worthy. Rev 4:11
  5. Of course it's your choice, but I guess you have no compunction when moderators disrespect members instead of dealing with the actual topic? A bit of a double standard don't you think, when the Bible says we are to submit ourselves one to another?
  6. I think that would be up to George but thanks for totally derailing this thread.
  7. following link would have taken much less space & time and accomplished the same thing. https://www.calvinistcorner.com/tulip.htm
  8. Do you know what 'bating' is? Is it against the rules here? All you've basically done here so far is get personal and not address the OP. Your agenda here is getting very clear and I request that you get George involved and stop wasting my time. I addressed your numbered response with the appropriate numbers and now you take everything out of context and misrepresent what I said. Please stop trying to disrupt this thread.
  9. so are you advocating that opinion outweighs civility on a Christian Forum like worthy? 1Cor 10:23-24 Opinion is not the issue. One of the rules of any Christian forum is to stay on topic and on track.
  10. sorry, but this is a misconception of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in John 14:26; "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you." The Holy Spirit came to replace Jesus on Earth while Jesus is in heaven and when Jesus returns to earth the Holy Spirit will return to heaven. The persons of the Trinity are co-equal & co-eternal.
  11. figured that out all on your own did you? why even bother making a comment? no wonder this site has such a hard time keeping things civil and under control.
  12. I reject all five points Kwik. I'm sure anybody that supports the doctrine will understand what tulip means. The link I posted does quote the doctrine verbatim as far as the 5 Points are concerned. I'm really not sure what the exact intent of OmegaMan's post was? The opening sentence in my OP states why I instigated this thread.
  13. my mistake, I have edited the OP. most forums prefer you do not copy and paste the majority of an article to their site but prefer a link. What does Worthy prefer? I have no idea what you're talking about here but am I correct in stating that you support T.U.L.I.P.? If not why all the complaining? I guess I understand why there is such a propensity for people to go off track on this forum given the example that leadership sets. If you don't want to participate then please don't.
  14. This topic is not new but I haven't seen it here on Worthy yet so I decided to start a thread of my own to deal with this subject. I'm hoping we can do this solely on the basis of scripture and not get personal but I can't control that. What I will be controlling is reporting those who do get personal and do not deal with scripture but simply voice their opinion. I picked the following link because it is very succinct and deals with the issue of scriptural support for refuting the T.U.L.I.P. Doctrine. Obviously I will not be addressing anybody that is on my ignore list. http://heresies.landmarkbiblebaptist.net/calvinism.html
  15. No offense taken here, but I have a pretty thick skin so even if offense was intended I wouldn't know it!
  16. I agree, but it is a contrast in the sense that the world looks at this type of joy as being drunk whereas in reality they were not. IMO, perception from the world towards Christians is seldom accurate.
  17. I did check out and Andrew Strom's video along with a few others and sadly I must say that I was never aware of how bad this was or how it connected to many false teachers that I was already aware of such as Todd Bentley being he is Canadian as I am. This is the very reason why the Bible tells us to test every spirit because obviously even since Jesus's day there have been false Spirits trying to infect the body of Christ. 2 Cor 11:14 is also another warning about false teachers and false spirits. I was born-again in a Pentecostal church and I've spent most of my 45 years as a Christian in different Pentecostal churches and I have never experienced this in any church that I was involved in and I thank God for that. I've seen the likes of Benny Hinn and Oral Roberts and Jim Bakker and knew they were false teachers but I guess in my own little world I never realized just how bad it has gotten. Life and work and raising a family goes by so quickly that the next thing you know you're in retirement age and you wonder how you missed so much and how things have gotten so bad. Of course none of this is orthodox Pentecostalism and I just pray that this does not sully their name and that we do not throw out the baby with the bathwater.
  18. Who exactly is 'they'? There are sadly many false teachers and cults calling themselves Christians these days, but like I said I've never heard this particular sect / cult other than in the context of yoga.
  19. I've never heard of this so-called spirit but from what I've been able to gather just now online it has to do with the practice of yoga so I'm not really sure how that relates here?
  20. I disagree with the author at the above link. Dawson McAllister is parroting a traditionally RT Doctrine. Acts 2:4 shows us what happens when we receive the infilling / baptism of the Holy Spirit. It was something Jesus told his disciples to wait for and by proxy us as well. This separate experience is identified in several other places in the book of Acts. Acts 4:31, Acts 8:15-17, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:6. Indeed what the Holy Spirit does is what Jesus said he would do in John 14:6. If you read this carefully you will note we are given another advocate to stay with us on Earth as Jesus was The Advocate that was returning to the father. So we have an advocate on earth as this verse shows us and we have an advocate with the Father in heaven as 1 John 2:1 tells us.
  21. There was once a time when using the word 'meditate' brought about all kinds of negative connotations because of how it is used by other religions but I am glad to see the church has become a lot less focused on what others do and a lot more focused on what they should do and what the word of God instructs us to do.
  22. You can start with Numbers 23:19. Meanwhile do you accept Luke 14:26?
