  1. Hi Sis, Most if not all of us have gone or are going through a similiar situation. I have found that the best way to learn to forgive that person is to pray for that person. You will soon see your bitterness turn to compassion as God directs and reveals to you how precious and short life is. Pray for her salvation if she is not already a Christian, pray that she may see how she has hurt you, pray that she may be delivered from this bitterness that caused her to direct hurt your way and most of all pray that God would soften your heart that you may also be able to forgive her. The enemy wants us to stay in a state of bitterness, it seperates our relationship with God as well as with each other. satan hates us and wants to destroy us, and one way he does this is to seperate us, he loves seperation, such as fellowship from God, church, spouse, friends, neighbors etc. On the other hand God loves us to be in fellowship and to love one another and be one though we are many. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. If you ever watched or participated in a wrestling match (Not WWF ) you go back and forth in the match until you finally get on top and pin your opponent gaing the victory! Some matches you win very easily, others are much tougher. Ask God to open your eyes that you may see what to pray for in this girls life. Perhaps she is seeking Christ and she was using you in her actions to see how real this God you serve is. We sometimes express harshly what we are seeking intimately, maybe she is reaching out, pray that God reveals Himself to her and that she would repent and become a born again child of His. Who knows, funny as it sounds at this time, perhaps one day you very well may become best of friends as well as family In Jesus kevin

  3. Whats are you getting at about John 3:16? I think I know because I have seen it debated before, especially by my former Pastor, but would like to hear your say on it. Hi JesusisGod2, the question is not whether a person can get saved using the nasb, or the niv, or the nkjv, or any version out there in any language. I know God can and does save His people using any version no matter how poorly translated or regardless of how much is missing. The nasb omits at least 3000 words from the New Testament, and adds about 250 others, and the nasb rejects the Hebrew readings many times and teaches several false doctrines, but the gospel of salvation is still in it and God can bring His people to faith in Christ using it. But this does not make the nasb the true and inerrant words of God - it simply is not. The central issue is the inerrancy of the Bible. Does an inerrant and providentially preserved Holy Bible exist on this earth? Most pastors and more and more Christians are coming to the position that The Scriptures are NOT inerrant. The recent polls show this and I have run into many Christians who are at least honest enough to admit what they really believe about this issue. They openly admit that they do not believe there exists an inerrant Bible in any language. What do you believe about this vital matter? You say you love both the nasb and the KJB, yet do you believe either of them is the inerrant, pure and complete words of God? They both cannot be at the same time, since they differ so radically in hundreds of verses in both meaning and texts. If you read through the first post in this thread, you should have clearly seen that the various nasbs do not even agree with each other! What do you think? Will K Well I dont think one above the other as I do not follow the letter of the law but the Spirit of God, Whom shall guide me into all truth and direct my steps. Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. I have no idea which version to be inerrant, but I do trust in God, Whom will keep me until He calls me home, no matter which version of scripture I choose to read. I believe both to be good versions but actually prefer the NASB as far as for understanding and do not see either as means for seperation of the brotherhood, for God has called us to peace and both are interpretations from Greek and Hebrew written into English.
  4. I personally love the NASB. I also love King James. I really dont see the beef, there are many who have gotten saved out of the NASB, including myself. Whats are you getting at about John 3:16? I think I know because I have seen it debated before, especially by my former Pastor, but would like to hear your say on it.
  5. Praise The Lord Nik!!! This is great news.
  6. I will have to get that book. I have posted quite a bit about the new anti-Semitism. It is permeating our churches and our universities, and is going full throttle in Europe. Hi Shiloh, You might also want to check out his website and sign up for his Free Levitt letter which keeps you abreast of the latest news concerning Israel and also on the new anti-Semitism and how it has spread to the above mentioned. I look forward to it which comes on a monthly basis. here is the link http://www.levitt.com/, (I dont know how to set the link for direct connection anymore since George changed the format) It also has a spot where you can order books and video. I really enjoy it. In Jesus kevin
  7. Somehow this doesnt surprise me, I am surprised that China hasn't stuck her big nose in it yet.
  8. I believe that the reason Jesus wept was because of their lack of faith in Him, He being the resurrection and the life. These were His close friends and they have seen many miracles and yet they lacked faith in Him. Jesus had just had the conversation with Martha and asked her do you believe this? 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Now look at the passages leading up to where it says Jesus wept: 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled. 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept It says when Jesus saw them weeping He groaned and was troubled, Here He was the Resurrection and they still wept as without hope. I believe that this why Jesus wept, not in sadness that Lazarus had died, but in their lack of faith in Who He was. Just my thoughts. It is a good study to read this whole chapter to get a good picture of this story of why Jesus wept. And yes Lazarus did die again. In Jesus kevin
  9. My biggest question on this is, why did it take over 5 days to respond to the disaster in our southern states after hurricane Katrina and we were over seas in 24 hours?
  10. Hey brother, Glad to see you have bumped this thread back to life, I will bump it as well in hopes that many take the time to read it. In Jesus kevin

  12. Hi Serotta, I myself dont see it as a slave master relationship, however I do see it as an authority while at work. When we work we trade our time for an agreed upon wage. Here is a good example of such: Matthew 20 1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. 8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, 12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. They were not called slaves but laborers or what we also call employees. There is a big difference. Slaves are bought and not necessarily paid, while emplyees are hired and make an agreement on their wage in trade for their time. Also notice that the empoyer made the time or hours they needed to work and for what wage. Paul also traded his time for money in tent making as did others throughout the scriptures. I do not believe the slave/master relationship applies here. It seems to me that you have met the obligations by giving them your two weeks notice which is in agreement with the laws of being hired, you have met your obligations. However, by giving your two weeks notice, your boss has the right to make you (If you choose to stay) re apply for the job and is under no obligation to hold your senority. God bless and hope that helps. In Jesus kevin
  13. Yikes! Remind me not to move to the Maritimes while the gas prices remain high...in Alberta it's still just below a dollar! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt Canada have oil that is plentiful and much lower per barrel than the midle east? I dont understand why we dont purchase oil from them.
  14. Hi Iryssa, Your confusing a Nazarene with a Nazarite Anyway the scripture you seek can be found in Numbers. Numbers 6 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: 3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. 4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. 5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. 6 All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body. 7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head. 8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD. 9 And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.
  15. That's a good point, Iryssa. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where does it say that it is a "sin" to have long hair? It really doesnt say nor imply that He was, however, John the baptist had all the characteristics of a Nazerite.
  16. Only in art If you look at most of the paintings of old which were done by italian artist, they even give Jesus the facial charateristics of italian instead of Jewish. I am not saying that they say He is italian, just make Him look as if He is.
  17. Not only is Jesus usually depicted as having long hair, He is also depicted as Italian! Go figure
  18. Hi All, I dont see what the huff and puff is all about, I have a Scofield study bible and I love it. It is probably one of my most read bibles that I have. I have several, but it is the one that I mostly use. My second favorite is the Ryrie NASB study bible. As has been mentioned by some, I also sometimes read the footnotes, but I dont draw my convictions from them, However, I do agree with some and they have helped at times in my understanding. Gods word and the Holy Spirit bring about my convictions. As far as what Scofield did, I am sure that we can dig up dirt on any one of us and yet we so easily point fingers at others. As far as Trust and Obeys comparissons to Paul, I understand what he is saying. Paul did some things that he most certainly was not proud of, Peter denied the Lord three times after walking with Him for several years, David committed murder, adultry, etc and yet God called him a man after His own heart and if you look at the bible, it is filled with peopel like this. I dont understand why no matter what forum topic I turn to anymore on these boards that I have to check and see if I am in the controversal section, it seems that all the topics anymore are filled with it. Jesus said if He is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Himself. Lets lift Him up! In Jesus kevin
  19. How can Abraham possibly be a jew if islam is in the lineage of abraham? I know, this qustion belongs in another thread. Hi Gerioke, This is not off topic at all. Abraham is the father of many nations. as far as Ishmael, here is what the scriptures say: Genesis 17:18-21 (New American Standard Bible) 18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!" 19 But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 "As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year." The nation of Islam has been blessed indeed, just look at the oil, the number of people, etc. But Gods covenant is is established through Isaac through whom the Jewish lineage comes. Both Islam and Jews have their lineage through Abraham, through two of his children. hope that helps! In Jesus kevin
