  1. Proverbs 3:13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, 3:14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. 3:15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 3:16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour.
  2. 1Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain: 6:7 for we brought nothing into the world, because neither can we carry anything out; 6:8 but having foods and covering we shall be therewith content. 6:9 But who would be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men unto destruction and perdition. 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
  3. Matthew 19:20 The young man said to him, All these have I observed: what lack I yet? 19:21 Jesus said to him, If thou would be perfect, go, sell what thou has, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in the heavens; and come hither, follow me. 19:22 But when the young man heard this saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one having great possessions.
  4. We do not have cute deer straying into our backyards, but we do experience Kangaroos, possums and koala bears running amok in our suburbia. The two large male kangaroos are what we Aussies call "boomers" - do not be fooled by cute little roos you get to see on Tv or in zoos. These fellas can take down a man or savagely rip apart a dingo (wild dog).

  5. Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
  6. Wow that is some beautiful backyard. The deer are pretty as well.
  7. Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns back wrath, but a hurtful word stirs up anger.
  8. Pray for forgiveness and for God to help make peace. Learn and grow in the mind of Christ. 1Peter 4:8 above all being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins: (WEB) And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up fights, but love covers all transgressions.
  9. They are responsible for themselves, but as a Christian and a disciple of Christ Jesus you still have moral commandments to fulfill regardless of your circumstances. Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; never be conceited. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends upon you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 No, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. verse 18 is important and of practical wisdom; our Lord knows that worldly people will not always be agreeable to get along with. Do what you have to do concerning your mother's estate. Suffer wrong and loss if need be. Then part and separate yourself from their aggravation. "Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarrelling and abuse will cease." - Proverbs 22:10
  10. Jeremiah 6:16 Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.
  11. It is time to get thee to a Pentecostal church and to be baptised in water and the Spirit. After you have been infilled by the the Holy Spirit of God you will then pray in tongues, and also most likely receive healings from your addictions and state of mind. Praying in tongues is powerful and activates the power of the Holy Spirit within you to change you from the inside. Go and read again the testimonies that I sent you on your other threads for encouragement. But you must take the initiative for yourself to allow God to heal you, and to refashion you. You are at a fork in the road. If you continue doing the same this road leads to death. But if you choose to take the other path to the gospel of salvation this road leads to life. Only you can choose.
  12. A testimony to healing of many issues by Tom, Adelaide, South Australia I believed the Bible and that God was real and I wanted to serve Him. I studied to be a priest for almost 3 years. I thought they’d give me a robe and a Bible and I’d learn the truth so that I could teach others. The year after I left the seminary I was in a very depressed state, hated myself, suicidal, sinful and didn’t know what to do with my life. I wanted to change but didn’t know where to get the power from. A couple gently preached the word of God to me at my door, showing me scriptures that I hadn’t seen. I believed them and went to one of their meetings where I prayed to the Lord and He filled me with the Holy Spirit and I spoke in a language I’d never heard. I knew God had forgiven me and made His home in me. It was an overwhelming difference between being depressed and suicidal and being filled with joy. For 17 months I stayed without tuition in the Lord. I knew that both the Bible and Jesus were real but I didn’t know how to walk in the Holy Spirit. After speaking to someone in the Rundle Mall I came to a Revival Fellowship meeting. When the Pastor read the scripture where Peter commanded the people to be baptized it was like it was really loud, just for me personally. I got the message; I’d repented, I’d been filled with the Holy Spirit and now I could complete the deal by being baptized. It was a real change in my life. I learned to overcome by the power of the Spirit, I stopped swearing, God healed me of alcohol and smoking marijuana and other drugs and cigarettes. I was healed of gastrointestinal ulcers and digestive troubles when I was baptized. I was also healed of fears and phobias, mental illness and obsessions. God put love and the joy of the Lord in my heart and I give Him all the glory.
  13. HEALED FROM DEPRESSION - testimony from Cherry, Adelaide, South Australia I suffered major depression from November 1985 to April 1986. My personality, emotions, intellect and inner being felt like they'd all shut down, leaving me only with feelings of hopelessness, fear of impending disaster, anxiety, negativity and sheer despair. Doctors and specialists could not help me. I'd heard of God's healing power, and my husband finally allowed me to go to a Revival Fellowship meeting to see if I could be healed by God. There I saw people of all ages with genuine joy, who told me that I could receive the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4). I remember speaking in tongues when I cried out to God as a young child; but I had no understanding of its significance, or of the dynamic results you receive when you use it while holding on unwaveringly to God’s promises. In obedience to Jesus I was baptized by full immersion, and God convicted my heart and assured me that He would heal me completely. So I began praying, "You love me, Lord; You’re going to heal me. Thank you, Lord.” Every time the dark cloud of depression was upon me I would praise the Lord, and it was as if I started going up a ladder, one rung at a time with each word of praise, until my faith broke through the clouds of depression and my inner being discovered love, joy and peace from our great God. Within four weeks I was healed! Even before my eyes could see the victory, with praise to God, I knew in my heart that I already had the victory. It wasn't merely positive thinking; it was a simple exercise of my faith 'muscles' towards our loving and powerful God. I thank and praise our awesome and faithful God who has truly healed me, and my family and I continue to rejoice in the Lord!
  14. 1Cor 5:9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 1Co 5:10 not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 5:11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 5:13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”
  15. So what !! Everything in the world is pretty well evil and un-Godly. If you were to avoid giving any money or support to enterprises, organisations or businesses that supported unrighteous causes you would have to, as Paul the apostle writes, leave planet Earth altogether. The epistles teach us to become separate from the world and to live righteously ourselves so that as a church we are a light shining in the darkness of this world. Do not be concerned with the many evils practiced by worldly peoples who do not have the light of the gospel in their lives, for you cannot save the world (nor are expected to). The Christian gospel and our testimonies are about saving one person at a time. 2Cor 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4:4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 4:5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
  16. Now you know why the born from above Christian prays in tongues. God takes control.
  17. Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 2:39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him. Acts 10:33 Forthwith therefore I [Cornelius] sent unto thee; and THOU hast done well to come. Now therefore WE are all here present before God, to hear all things commanded thee of the Lord. Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all that heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, who came with Peter, because that on the nations also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can anyone forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then asked they him to tarry certain days.
  18. One of the "problems" of the early Pentecostal divine healing outreaches where tens of thousands would come for healing only and not for baptism of the Holy Spirit.
  19. No one is preaching this here. And in my church we do not preach faith only, but rather pray for healings and for God to bless doctors and their work upon saints who go into hospital. Lynne has a powerful testimony about how through the prayers of the saints the specialist found another malignant node hidden in a lymph gland. This doctor told Lynne that he would normally only deal with what had been detected, but for some unknown reason to himself he did a scan looking for for secondary lymphomas. Further not only where the operations for her breast cancer and this other tumour very successful, but also when Lynne underwent the chemotherapy her hair did not fall out and she suffered very minimal side effects (such as nausea). Praying in the Spirit for one another is the way to go.
  20. So if church elders and pastors do not believe and do not have faith in the power of God to heal then not a lot happens. And given that most Christians are cessationists at heart then also the gifts of faith, healings and miracles are not enjoyed by cessationists.
  21. Much depends on what people believe. Much depends on what people do not believe. Not all believe in a God that heals. Most believe in doctors and medicine.
  22. NO I strongly disagree with your assertion here for this is the great error of the disorderly charismatic churches that bring in confusion over these matters. In Pentecostal churches people are encouraged to repent and believe the full gospel of salvation and to put this into action by water baptism confessing their faith in Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour. They are then baptised in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Further new believers are encouraged to seek and ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit - when a person is baptised in the Holy Ghost the Bible evidence is speaking in a new tongue (as promised by Jesus and as described in Acts). This is Pentecostal doctrine 101 - and in my church all converts can pray in tongues and enjoy the power and benefits of this. However, when it comes to operating the voice gifts of the Holy Spirit in a church meeting (1Corinthians 14) this is not for everybody and these gifts - tongues, interpretation and prophesy - are distributed to some not to everybody. Thus when Paul writes about orderly worship in a church meeting he correctly asks do all speak in tongues?, do all interpret?, do all prophesy? So even though here in my city many thousands all pray in tongues not all operate the voice gifts. 1Cor 14:27 If any speaketh in a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret: 14:28 but if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 14:29 And let prophets speak by two or three, and let the others discern.
  23. 1Cor 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 1Cor 14:15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. 1Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. Jude 1:17 But YE beloved, remember the words *spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 1:18 that they said to you, In the last time mockers shall be, walking after their own ungodly lusts. 1:19 These are they who make separations, having only soul, not having Spirit. 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 1:21 keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
