  1. That is a very Roman Catholic/ Eastern Orthodox theology. The Holy Spirit is described as the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Father, and also as the Spirit of Jesus. Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 2Cor 3:16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
  2. Is it just a coincidence that two new religions in opposition to the salvation once delivered to the saints should be from an angelic being giving new revelations to the recipient of such while in a cave. 2Cor 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
  3. Blaspheming the work and purpose of the Holy Spirit is fatal. Denying the gospel of salvation is fatal.
  4. That is a straight out denial of scripture.
  5. Yes that is right > 6 periods of time. The Earth is not flat nor merely 6,000 years old.
  6. The Hebrew does not state a day as 24 hours. The word yôm means a period of time as well as a 'day.' Given that the Sun, the Moon and the stars were not created until the 4th "day" for the purpose of “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years" then it is also logical that the days of Genesis are not our 24 hour days. The creation was in 6 periods of time in a logical order of complexities built upon previous necessary foundations.
  7. 2Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. Ezekiel 4:4 “Then lie on your left side, and place the punishment of the house of Israel upon it. For the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their punishment. 5 For I assign to you a number of days, 390 days, equal to the number of the years of their punishment. So long shall you bear the punishment of the house of Israel. 6 And when you have completed these, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side, and bear the punishment of the house of Judah. Forty days I assign you, a day for each year.
  8. This is to do with Bible prophecy - one day in scripture concerning prophecy is equivalent to 1,000 years of human history. So then we often have the expression for example 1,260 days = 1,260 years in history. The same formula applies to weeks (7 days = 7 years) and months (30 days = 30 years). Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. In Hosea is a messianic prophecy concerning Jesus and Day of the Lord, resurrection and then the millennium - all expressed in days. Hosea 6:1 “Come, let us return to YAHWEH; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. It is also obvious here that Jesus is YAHWEH. (but that is for another topic thread) Why pick a thousand years for a day?? Because God is working out his great plan of salvation in a week - seven days for God but 7 thousand years for us mere mortals. From Adam to the day of the Lord = 6 days (6 thousand years) plus 1 day (1 thousand years) under the government of Jesus brings us to Revelation 21.
  9. Colossians 2:16 Let no one therefore judge you in meat, and in drink, or in respect of a feast day or new moon or sabbaths: 17 which are a shadow of the things to come: but the body is the Christ’s. Sabbath observance needs to be left where Paul the apostle has placed it - as a matter of individual conscience, conviction, and preference - but never as an obligation to be imposed upon others ... Romans 14:5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 The one who observes the day, observes it in honour of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honour of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honour of the Lord and gives thanks to God.
  10. The OT commandments concerning one day a week of rest from manual work and labour is a shadow - a physical example - of what was to come in the NT > spiritual rest from our own toils and problems through the power of the indwelling Spirit of God. There is no commandment or instruction in the NT - no not even in the epistles - to uphold Saturdays as a Sabbath. Hebrews 4:1 Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short. 2 For indeed we have been evangelized even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because they were not united by faith with them that heard. 3 For we who have believed are entering into the rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the world’s foundation. 4 For he hath said somewhere of the seventh thus, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works; 5 and in this place again, They shall not enter into my rest. 6 Since therefore it remaineth that some enter thereinto, and the afore evangelized entered not because of disobedience, 7 he again defineth a certain day, Today, saying in David so long a time after (even as hath been said before), Today if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. 9 A sabbath rest remaineth therefore for the people of God. 10 For who is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his work, as God did from his own. 11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no one fall after the same example of disobedience. Now we as Pentecostal Spirit-filled disciples have enterest the rest given to us by God by his Spirit - a 24/7 sabbath.
  11. Paul writing to the Pentecostal elect in Corinth 1Cor 4:17 That is why I sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach them everywhere in every church. 18 Some are arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. 19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. 21 What do you wish? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love in a spirit of gentleness?
  12. Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
  13. YES 2Cor 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
  14. 1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
  15. Unfortunately, liberty is a two edged sword. In order to walk in the Spirit a disciple must exercise discipline to obedience and a love of righteousness. The battle against the wiles of the evil one requires effort on our part to make use of the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to stay in our love of God and righteousness keeping our eyes firmly on the end goal - salvation. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not the freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be bondmen one to another. Galatians 5:13 16 But I say, Walk in Spirit, and ye shall in no wise fulfill the lusts of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to another; that ye may not do what things ye would. Galatians 5:
  16. John 16:13 But when that one comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he heareth, these shall he speak: and he shall declare to you the things to come. 14 HE shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it to you.
  17. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God hath appeared to all men bringing salvation, 12 instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age; 13 awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a people for his possession, zealous of good works.
  18. Rev 18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. 2 And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. 3 For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.” 4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; 5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Rev 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.” This warning is given to true worshippers - the Spiritfilled Pentecostal elect of the NT - to come out of Babylonian religion that will suffer the wrath of God in the last day. For if those who have received the Spirit of truth choose to return and worship within false religion (a lie) then they will also suffer condemnation.
  19. The Spirit-filled elect are now to fulfill the role of the previous nation of Israel - to separate themselves from the surrounding peoples with their false gods. The gospel and our discipleship are to be a light, a beacon to others wandering in the darkness. 1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 2:10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Consecrated persons, objects and land - made holy - are set aside from "common" worldly use and are to serve the purposes of God. Thus the Spirit-filled Christian becomes holy and is separated from ordinary worldly life morally and spiritually. It is of extreme importance that Christians maintain their testimonies to the righteousness of God in opposition to the wickedness of the world. Integrity and consistency in all things is paramount. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
  20. I believe that these days many people have unrealistic views and attitudes on marriage arising out of romantic ideals on love, marriage and family life. Ideals on choosing a best partner. Marrying for love only. Both my parents were single parents way back in the 1950s - when this was very frowned upon and considered highly immoral and worthy of welfare intervention. My mother had a daughter to a man who left her, and my father had a son (me) to a woman he did not want to marry. In the mid 1950s they met through the local German club community and decided to marry not out of love but out of practicality. Mum gained a husband and income support for herself and her daughter (Suzi) and Dad could legally adopt me from the orphanage as he was now moral and married. They worked together in order to solve their personal, legal and economic problems. Dad was head of the family, but he always consulted with Mum on all major decisions concerning large expenditures and commitments. Mum had an allowance or budget for herself and did all the household shopping and purchases (clothing, etc) in her own right. While Dad was the head of the family it meant that the responsibilities for making major decisions that could affect the future welfare of the family fell on his shoulders. If things went wrong he was to blame. But fortunately, Dad had survived WWII and the horrors of this period, and was pretty sensible with our money and decision making. Life experience does count. I believed through observation that they learned to love each other after they married and grew into their roles as husband and wife, and eventually with four children. We enjoyed life in the suburbs as a family. Dad died of cancer at 46 (these things happen) and Mum just recently turned 88 and still lives in her own house as a widow. Oh at last count I think there are now 50 descendants from these two naughty young people of the 1950s.
  21. Much of the problems concerning marriage and the traditional rights of men over their wives (and children) is patriarchy arising from worldly culture and NOT from Christian love and scripture. Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, Ephesians 5:33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. The gospel is about love and kindness and good works - patriarchy in its worst forms: men taking the property of their wives, men squandering their income; violence against wives and daughters; abuse in all forms; rape in marriage - these are acts of the flesh. This is un-Godliness and wickedness traditionally aided and abetted by worldly churches.
  22. What you write has nothing to do with what scripture teaches us on this matter ... Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
