Hi LadyKay. I think I heard some church in Redding, CA has some kind of card reading, not sure if it's a bad rumor?

I want to share at a bible study one lady said how some statues are false gods and we don't even know it. I brought a statue to the group and they were not sure but thought it was an idol as it was a asian 8" statue of marble I think. Well I said, they are not really possessed it's just a statue I don't believe it's anything but I decided well if it was why keep it anyway so I decided to throw it out. I did throw it out. Later, I remembered I had a big wood carving a a person like Jesus or no it reminded me of Jesus or an angel (had wings) with it's foot on a devilish looking being (hard to describe) maybe the way the eyes were cut and it had a snake somewhere if I am remembering right. Anyway it was very clear someone angelic was killing off evil the angel had it's foot on the neck of the other one. I somehow never felt ok to hang it and kept it in a closet somewhere. (A lady gave it to me who said it was there when she bought the place in a storage room). Anyway because of the statue thing I wondered if it had "curses" on it like the ladies had said some things are made that way. Any way it was of Asian origin because there was all this writing in asian on the back. I was not sure what to do ...it seemed very valuable to me and yet not sure ..I did not believe things cursed could affect a christian. I thought just throw it out but yet I kept hesitating. I think I talked to some of those ladies at the bible study (asian ladies mostly) and they said throw it away. I was not sure.. I think I said yeah I guess I will throw it out but yet I was not doing it. So I moved it to the garage, while thinking it over still, hesitating with throwing it out as it was a really nice carving. It was in the garage propped up against something and the next day .... it had fallen down because I drove over it and it splintered to pieces. I thought wow.. God took care of that problem for me. I had that picture probably a decade if not more in my house in a closet.

I can see what you are saying how that would be so hard in those cases. The body of Christ needs to be equipped. That's why I am thankful for this site! We can talk about things going on like the book and we can share the good things the Lord is doing and pray for each other and our needs and warn where needed.

I never thought of the Barbies need to think about that. Did not know that about Star Wars if I did I forgot. Is it because of the Dark side do you think? Wow what a world we live in. One day all will be made right! I agree the Church should take a stronger stance with this!

Typos can be fun

After reading Ome's post, I will say most everyone knows we are reading a book or watching a movie and whether it is ficiton or non fiction. But the question is influence that maybe we do not estimate at that time. Also, we know the story of the frog who is swimming in water and and it get's hotter and hotter but the slow moving upward temperature keeps the frog in hot water too long till it's too late to move. I am guilty of the same things, Disney, and the books. But now I think "What was I thinking?" What fellowship has light with darkness? Is it the worst thing is it the only bad thing? No, but this is the thing today the book I heard about, that came into my knowledge, and I want to share that so people are aware of what is going on and that even younger kids are being targeted even more by the evil one.

It just is a wake up warning sign that this book is being sold to give to kids. Times are a changing.

I don't feel Christians should consume "entertainment" that has occult themes no matter how "innocently" they are presented. Well said Abby!o It is true there are some questionable things C.S. Lewis has said, I have discovered, but I still like many of the things he wrote and he was a professing christian albeit I think not all his theology was right ( I only say that because I read something I disagree with in regards to praying for the dead). I have a cold and my head is foggy if I made a mistake here sorry! I think I will reread his books and look more closely one day but not the Narnia books as they don't even interest me.

Well I hate to say anything about C.S. Lewis as I have been such a fan of most of his work but I now think it maybe is a mistake to have written it. (Not that he meant wrong or Tolkien either but sometimes Christians do make mistakes.) That is my opinion now after seeing Christians make excuses for Harry Potter and things ...it could be that unwittingly these were "gateway" (don't laugh) books to other books that are worse??? I don't know just wondering. People have to make up their own minds but sometimes it is hard to decide. But that children's book is a no brainer bad book.

There is a book out now that is called " A Children's book of Demons". Our world is getting very dark. It is for sale even on Amazon. I wonder if maybe some books like The Lion the With and the Wardrobe" and Lord of the Rings are things we should stay away from. Many think they are ok .. then came Harry potter many christians think that suitable reading too or allowed. I know they are just books but everything has an influence for good or evil. “There shall not be found among you anyone who make his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord ….” (Deuteronomy 18:10) This is God's view. What do you think?

I have not read this hold thread but I know salvation is a gift of God and not of works at all. We know from Romans 7 the law does not save. But I see from scripture God does have expectations from his children. These works do not save and they should be works or love and gratitude I agree. Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. In the great commission we are told to go .... In Revelation God judges the church and their dedication to him and judges what they have done or not done. Their are to be rewards in heaven as well. Ephesians 2:10 New International Version (NIV) 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The bible says he is the author and finisher or our faith I guess I could share some. Other things influenced me before, but this was how I/we clearly heard the gospel message. My mom and step-dad were having marital problems (wont' go into that). My step-dad was from the south but we all lived on the West Coast at this time. My mom was raised catholic as a kid. They looked for churches and they finally ended up at a Baptist Church. We heard the gospel preached and we believed. My whole family ended up believing in Jesus and got saved. Praise the Lord! There is more to this story but in a nutshell this is how I heard and believed.

God can help you He is bigger than your circumstance. It is hard to not be afraid but put your faith in Him, and pray for help to Him and don't be afraid but if you do the right thing HE will bless you for your faith in Him. Welcome to Worthy! You are sinning and you need to repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and turn to God 100% and make him your number one priority. Jesus says you must be born again. If you have not yet will you accepted Jesus into your heart (not just your acknowledgement of him in general) and take his free gift of salvation? He wants you to repent and agree you have sinned and that you don't want to do that anymore and you want to be forgiven. Ask him to come into your heart and life and he will do it. Pray for this other person for their salvation and perhaps your walk with God would cause them to reflect about God but don't be unequally yoked with him. Don't try to continue as before he will try to pull you into living in sin and will not understand. This is hard as it is hard to disappoint and hurt someone ... But you need to care more about your relationship with the Lord over this other persons feelings and wishes. Do not live with someone in sin. Do not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. Follow the Lord and read his word it will be a lamp to your feet (and actions). God is pulling on your heart to repent. Please do that right away even right this minute. About where you should go next, pray for God to help you and open a door where he wants you while you try to find a place/job. If you follow God you will be in His will for your life. Praying for you right now.

Numbers today: Complaining brought Quail and fire judgement. It reminded me of Exodus (16) where they complained and the Lord gave them quail and manna. Why do you think they were judged the 2nd time? Do you think it's because they should have known better by this time?

It struck me that as a picture of the one sacrifice for all, it was lacking, because Jesus was sacrificed by "unclean" Romans. Good point. So, our high priest was already perfect, did not need to make Himself clean, He made an offering of Himself as both the priest and the sacrifice, and of sufficient worth to pay for the sins of all! What a Savior, such a gift, amazing love! Amen. He is so Worthy .. Reminded me of Revelation 5.
