  1. He is one of my favorites, too..I've prayed for Charles, that he would be healed and that he would accept Christ before he dies..I didn't know that Charles was an atheist, I understand he is Jewish...so that surprises me..
  2. I've finished reading the article on the link...wow..It clears up a lot for me, thank you, again..
  3. Oh, thank you so much for the link..I need to learn more about some of the current Christian music..I do listen to music quite a bit, then I'll see someone say something about it and I'm not sure if I should listen to a group or not..The Getty's write a beautiful song, In Christ Alone..I love the song , I was a little shocked to read that one church denomination, think it was Presbyterian, not sure on which mainstream one it was, but they refused to put it in their hymnal because the verse that says,..on the cross when Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied....I don't see anything wrong with those words...I do like some of Hillsong music, but I'm not sure about what the church actually believes, and I am not charismatic.. I would not listen to any song that conveyed an errant message.
  4. Welcome, Kristen, I believe this is a great place to learn and share with other Believers...I also read that post on ...Dying to Self..it brought tears to my eyes because I knew that I needed to work harder on doing that..life is not easy, especially for Christians, I find that the more difficult things get for me, the tighter that I hold on to God's promises..He is faithful..and I am learning to trust Him more everyday..may God bless and encourage you as you continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  5. Hi, I'm Gabbie, and happy to have found this great place..been reading here for a few days, getting an idea of what people are thinking.. I've been a Christian for over 40 years, during that time my life has undergone a lot of drastic changes, but the one constant thing has been the love of God..it has sustained me through joy and tragedy,.like most believers, there have been times that I drifted away from God...thanks to His love and faithfulness, I was brought back appreciating that love, even more..my first experience in learning about God was being taken to Sunday school by my dear mother, she was a sweet Christian lady..I know that she didn't realize that I wasn't seeing examples, at that particular church, that showed me what Christian love really looked like...I was married at 19, still as lost as ever, but one day I met my new sister in law,,I immediately knew she was different...I saw a person who was kind, cared about others, and was happy to share her faith....having my eyes opened to what God's love can do in a person's heart and life was the start of my journey...I haven't really had a lot of Christians to fellowship with in the past few years, I'm hoping to attend one of the local churches here, now that I'm settled in..its nice to meet all of you, and to read your posts.
  6. I have been reading a lot here and an really happy to have found this place..I have studied much over my lifetime but am still learning.. I thank God many times everyday, for being in a peaceful place..this morning I am watching the movie, The Case for Christ...I'd started the Book a few years ago but had to leave it behind when I moved.,
  7. Hi Peter, I'm brand new, so can't answer your question, but have wondered where to start.,right now I'm enjoying all the great topics to be read.
  8. Hello, my name is Gabbie and I'm new here..I've been looking for a long time for a Christian place ..being retired and not in the best of health, I look for peace and encouragement by prayer and studying God's Word..The Lord has brought me through so many difficult times and rocky places..I appreciate a safe place to read and sometimes ask questions...having recently moved back to my hometown area, I'm looking for a Methodist or Presbyterian Church to attend....thank you for having this good place , so glad to find it.
