  1. Thank you Ayin for your input, I see what you mean about new age nonsence. You mention St Johns Wort, is this any good?
  2. Has no one heard of these? There "rescue remedy" is supposed to be a help for anxiety and depression. But like I say I dont know what to make of it.
  3. Have any of you heard of the Bach Flower remedies? If so could you please give me your opinion as to whether they are any good, and as to whether it is OK to use them?
  4. Arent soul and spirit the same thing?
  5. Not as big a stretch as getting somone to believe in two nations of Laminites and Nephites which according to your book of Mormon were great nations and quote: "The whole face of the land had become covered with buildings, and people were as numerous as almost as it were the sand of sthe sea." (Mormon 1:7) (I hope the moderators wont mind this quote included) Yet while we have plenty of evidence that Christ existed and the Jewish nations existed there is not one shred of Archeological evidence that these nations existed according to the book of Mormon. It is a completely false claim with no evidence and you accept it. Lets be realistic as to who is stretching a point. Cardcaptor is right you need to study scripture in context not take one verse out of context to prove some man made point. I dont mean to be blunt here but you are in a cult my friend and unless you accept the Grace of Christ you will be found wanting on the day you face Him. May our Lord open your eyes to this sad and terrible deception.
  6. I dont post much on the board but I have to say this is one of the most disturbing threads I have seen in a while. The minute we start doubting the WORD OF GOD and saying HE GAVE US A FALLIBLE BIBLE you might as well give it all up. Everything crumbles after that. We can decide what is true and what is not and we can do that to suit our own sinful needs, hence homosexuals saying they are Christian, Gap theories and all sorts of twisted teaching. Our LDS friend will undoubtedly talk about the versions of the bible and obviously there are errors in some and admitedly some poor translations but this is mans fault not Gods. He gave us a perfect Greek text and man has translated that. MAN IS FALLIBLE NOT GOD.
  7. The deadly sins in Roman Catholic theology are those that will send you to hell. Basically you have mortal sins and venial sins venial sins you have to pay for yourself in purgatory. The seven deadly sins will fall under the catagory of Mortal Sins. One scripture catholics willuse to support this unbiblical view is: 1Jo 5:16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life--to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.
  8. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way.

Well said Shiloh. I would hope to hear a resounding AMEN on the board but somehow I think I might be dissapointed.
  10. Seems to me it could be a loaded question?
  11. If I had a buck for every time somone "prophesied" the end times were here I'd be a wealthy man!
  12. What makes you think he is a baptist yomo?
  13. What ever gave you that idea??
  14. Then how do you explain Matthew 7:15 - 23
  15. Just one more thing BroDavid How do you explaing men such as CH Spurgeon, George Whitfield, John Owen etc. All held to Calvanism and worked themselves to death trying to reach people for Christ. It seems if they held to your understanding of Calvanism they would have sat back and only preached to their "chosen ones" Pastoreric, I am looking forward to reading your response. Moderators I am pulling out in the hope that you wont close the thread. Things have got a bit ugly and I would love to continue reading other responses.

  18. Just to add to my last post and show I am not misinterpreting Calvanism. Hyper Calvamism does exist and here is a link to an article. http://www.spurgeon.org/~phil/articles/hypercal.htm
  19. The basic emphasis of Ephesians 1: 1-15 seems to be the same as well, or so we just ignore this? Please dont insult me, there is a decent way to debate something without getting arrogant. I do not misinterpret Calvanism my friend. I understand it quite well. Maybe you should learn more about it before you are so quick to jump on it. But allas I doubt you will do so and I certainly dont want to refer you to Romans again
  20. A bit late I guess but I added my vote today. 100% Calvanist all the way. People who misunderstand Calvanism often think this means we can sit back and do nothing, as if we are predestined and since God reaches those people all others are simply non elect and there is nothing we can do about it. This is "Hyper Calvanism" and absolutely wrong. Some of the greatest preachers were Calvanists and they gave there all to reach people for Christ. (See John Owens quote) Here are a couple of quotes I enjoy, I especially love John Owens. "Man is nothing: he hath a free will to go to hell, but none to go to heaven, till God worketh in him to will and to do his good pleasure" GEORGE WHITEFIELD TO JOHN WESLEY "God hath work to do in this world; and to desert it because of its difficulties and entanglements, is to cast off His authority. It is not enough that we be just, that we be righteous, and walk with God in holiness; but we must also serve our generation, as David did before he fell asleep. God hath a work to do; and not to help Him is to oppose Him." (John Owen, IX.171)
  21. Whoa Man is born innocent???????
  22. If only I could describe the concern and anguish in my heart when I see discussions like this. Christianity is in a terrible state accepting all kinds of false teaching and divisiveness Exactly because of such TOLERANCE. Today good Christians get rebuked for standing up against false teaching!!! I simply cant understand this and it can only be Satans tool. People should start reading there bibles properly again and TAKE NOTE of how PAUL STOOD AGAINST FALSE TEACHERS. Loving acceptance for the teachings of Benny Hinn and the like NEVER NEVER NEVER Acceptance of Christs teaching once and for all handed down to the saints. YES YES YES AND A GLORIOUS AMEN. I shall settle for nothing else. And please note I said teachings of Benny Hinn and I will continue to pray for him and his false brothers. As God has warned them and I fear what awaits such men. 2Pe 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2Pe 2:2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 2Pe 2:3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 2Pe 2:5 if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2Pe 2:6 if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 2Pe 2:7 and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked 2Pe 2:8 (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); 2Pe 2:9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 2Pe 2:10 and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, 2Pe 2:11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. 2Pe 2:12 But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, 2Pe 2:13 suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. 2Pe 2:14 They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 2Pe 2:15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 2Pe 2:16 but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet's madness. 2Pe 2:17 These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 2Pe 2:18 For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. 2Pe 2:19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. 2Pe 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 2Pe 2:21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. 2Pe 2:22 What the true proverb says has happened to them: "The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire."
