  1. I am almost finished reading the book and parts of the book actually made me laugh when they talked about The Holy Grail and Jesus. It is a fictional book but it was like Wow, good thing I am strong in my faith other wise I might believe this crap!
  2. The book has alot of "neat" facts about things that I for one never even thought of. Like you mentioned Neb about the Mona Lisa. What I read was really fascinating to me.
  3. I am enjoying the book very much so. Am I going to believe everything I read? Nah, just like everything else. Good reading. I was just curious your thoughts on the subject of the Opus Dei thing.
  4. They do some wear a belt around their thigh with wires poking into them for two hours per day, they whip themselves with rope, etc.... No clue why. You are more than welcomed to look it up to understand it better.
  5. I wasn't sure where to post this but here it is. Please don't delete and please don't bash. I really want some input on this and thoughts. I am currently reading The Davinci Code and I came across a subject on the Opus Dei. It struck my curiosity so I looked it up on the I-net. Very disturbing at first but I am wondering how inflicting pain on yourself does good? I am also wondering the opinions of Christians and our Catholic friends on this. Thank you!
  6. Hey everyone! I have a website that I am always on. One of the groups that I am a part of are discussing the Westboro Church who are picketing funerals of fallen warriors and preaching falseness. These women I am chatting with have so much hate towards these people and want them dead. It is so hard to explain unless you read the discussion but basically I am making the point that the reason why there is so much hate in the world is because we put it in our hearts and can't forgive, etc... Everything I am saying I feel God wanting me to say to these women but they just won't come through. Any advise on this. If you want to read what I am talking about please PM me.
  7. Why would you have to stop coming to Worthy? Congrats to your day if he gets a good deal.
  8. I really don't see how you can learn anything from watching other people have sex. Most educated americans should know what goes where but you never know. To me to show this as part of a school thing is very perverted.
  9. I do know that he sent this letter to her and I got it from one of my marine friends on my web site.
  10. This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America. On Nov. 12, Ms Cindy Williams (from Laverne and Shirley TV show) wrote a piece for the Washington Times, denouncing the pay raise coming service members' way this year -- citing that the stated 13% wage was more than they deserve. A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this. "Ms Williams: I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GIs earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account. Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40, after. I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for Network Technicians in the Washington, D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience with my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum... I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions. Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces. Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience." As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone -- obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them. Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night; and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor. Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't nearly be long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it. You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your opined piece. But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it. You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment rights and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective nose at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies. And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve? Rubbish! A1C Michael Bragg Hill AFB AFNCC
  11. First of all I think children need to spend alot more time reading books and playing with their friends and not spending all their time playing video games. My husband likes to play the sports games to relax and unwind. I see nothing wrong with those games. The games are so expensive and the consoles are expensive too. Then you have to buy all of the accessories to go along with the system. Then you can't just have one game. The games that have zombies chasing people killing them, not so good for kids to be playing.
  12. Something will happen on that day...........I will turn 27! To me, it is just another day.
  13. No offense to anyone but, I beleive that you should leave this up to God, not a web site. But, these sites could help you meet certain people that God might be looking for for you to be with. I have no need for it cuz I have been married about 10 years now but I think my sister should try it lol. She has a hard time finding a good boy friend. She looks on all the wrong places.
  14. I know that people have to work but I would never be caught dead being a hooters girl lol!
  15. I sure do hope that no one would say that to anyone.
  16. I know from experience, being with your best friends sibling doesn't work out for the most part but in some cases, it does. Talk to your best friend about it and be honest.
  17. I love coke from a soda fountain in a glass with ice. I don't drink sugary things but I do like diet coke.
  18. What is it about the temptation that well tempts you? If it is sex, it is everywhere. Be stronger when you are around situations with it. Repeat why it is wrong for you.
  19. I never got to read that thread, didn't interest me much. if a young child on here who doesn't know too much about Jesus asked that question in all honesty, I can see the reason for the question.
  20. Read here
  21. I am a mutt with you other one! I have Greek, Albanian, Portugese, French in me.
  22. Out of all the places to grow something.
  23. I had a thread going about this subject. You can read it if you want to. I am realizing more that people are people. Some act in a way that may seem racist and other not. To me, your skin color doesn't justify your behavior, never should.
  24. I would have to agree. Just make sure that you stick to your guns on whatever decision you make. It may be totally harmless but I have been married for 23 years and would trust my husband in such a place even though he would never go to a place like that. however I agree that it is no place for a married christian man. Your husband can be out in the dark corner just watching or being there for his friends but I guarentee that a stripper will aproach him and offer lewed acts. That is how it is. Years ago, my husband worked part time as a bouncer at a dance club and he had to work bike week when they had strippers. I went there a few time to bring him dinner and all the strippers knew he was married but they didn't care. The acted like hookers. A strip club is no place for a self respected person to hang out at, even for a bachelor party.
