  1. Better than Ezra - how does your garden grow Before that was Lincoln park - hybrid theory
  2. didnt we form this council way back when, and then get kicked off it after bush got elected?
  3. One of the most comforting things to know.
  4. I heard a very interesting point on the raido last week. In the NT, it talks all about preaching the word, but it really doesnt give any form to how we should. It doesnt say you should teach someone this way or that way. Which of course was really smart of God to do. So you can cross any cultural border. In a culture were "bible thumping" is generally ignored, quoting the bible straight up wont get you anywhere. But speaking to someone about the message of a passage will work beautifully. The believer never eers from the word, they just deliver the Word in a different context - saying God's word in another way, using personal experiances and such.
  5. just a quick post, so I havnt read all the replies since my last post, but Adam HAD to of been created sinless. He walked with God. Sin cannot be tolerated in the presence of God. He would have died first time he saw God if he was created evil or a sinner.
  6. all I hear from him is blah blah blah. Same old double talk to please the crowds and stall the west.
  7. thats the way drug companies have always functioned. They are there to make a profit, not help us. Remember that. I'm not trying to sound all conspiracy theoriest, but thats buisness. You don't make a product that makes your customers not need you anymore. Ever notice how extended/controlled release pills come out just after the patents for the normal drug wears off? Thats another full patent with no generics for them to profit off. Or notice how companies always have another new drug to replace the drug that loses its patent and goes generic? The perfect timing of all this isnt luck. Antibiotic research isnt worth it. A new antibiotic family hasnt been created for YEARS. All they do is take existing ones and change them around a bit. Its been decades since they made a new class of antibiotics. Its to much work and effort for the pay out. This is the problem with capitalism in the end. You can never use it to help others, because its built on being selfish.

    free will

I don't know where the line between our will and God's lies. He holds us accountable for our actions, but nothing can contradict his will. Its a paradox. If us knowing mattered, God would let us know. Nothing anyone ever wants or even thinks can effect his will or plans in any way. That would give us power over him, which would be an abomination to say the least, and is just impossible. I choose to err on the side of God's power, but life will go on the same or us no matter what we decide. I've found free will debates can drive huge wedges between christians. Its happened to me and others. Why focus our time on such theoretical things that don't change our lives at all? The debate forms camps among believers and sets us at odds. This is bad. In the end, no matter which you think, God's plan will come to fruition as he planned it. Let him worry about the technicalities.
  9. Whats your point? What are you getting at? I do think your making to much out of this, whatever it is though. About all we know about Adams life was his sin and shortly afterwards. What about before? We cannot make assumptions here, and it seems your drawing some HUGE conclusions here with no proof. Adam was created sinless, and was later polluted. He sinned and it was terrible. Just like you or me every day. What you said about Adam, it sounds like every person I have ever met, myself included. We are all desperately evil. Its terrible but true. The fact that we have to fight against ourselves not to sin shows this. We are no better than him.
  10. what about terminally ill people who say no more chemo? They dont wanna suffer for another 6 months, and want a more comfortable shorter time? What about people who don't risk an operation that might save thier life but might kill them? What about people who get fat, or don't get thin and drop of heart attacks at 45? What about people who speed or drive sloppy and die in a car crash? People choose to die ALL THE TIME! Death is part of life. There is no such thing as "natural death" and "unnatural death." God knows we will die, he planned each of our deaths. And mostly GOD IS NOT SO WEAK THAT HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS WE ARE HELPING!!!!!! No one can stop God from doing a single thing. He is all powerful. To say otherwise is lies. All things glorify God. To suggest anything has power over him in any way is wrong. If someone commits suicide or is murdered, thats how God planned for them to die. I'm not saying I support government sanctioned euthenaisa, but the way some people are making this out to be a threat to christianity is utterly false. Nothing can be a threat to it. Ever.
  11. Part of life is about the experiance. God may know about our whole life - but we certainly don't. He allows us to experiance his love. To know life with him, and see life without him. Also, the bible doesnt say where the line between our free will and God's will lies. No one has that answer. God holds us accountable for our actions (given Jesus earned christians forgiveness.) It is better to err on the side of God's omnipotence, but don't let this worry you. If God wanted us to know the answer to this, the bible would have been clear on it. Live your life to love and glorify God, and let what is, be.
  12. I dont think location was his point. Lets not miss the point of the post over semantics. I have to admit I've wondered myself. We'll live in the city of New Jerusalem (which will be the size of a country). It will be on the new earth (I'm speaking after Christ's millenial reign.) In the end of revalations God said he would live with us. His glory will actually provide the light for the city - there will be no need for the sun or moon. The curse will be lifted - so there will be no need of farming (if we even need to eat). When you think about it, this - all reality as we know it is just a side note in history. God is talking about FOREVER. Whats 10-20,000 years in the face of eternity. Existance as we know it seems so vast, and it is only for this short time. God must have an even greater plan for once he allows us to live with him. Perhaps time will be different then, or maybe time is only a tool for our mortal lives, and it will cease to have any meaning. Just the thought of this shows his glory in so many ways. I can't even imagine comprehending the answers to this, much less solving the puzzle myself. I know I can't understand forever, much less forever when all aspects of reality may change or have no bearing. Plus this shows his ASTOUNDING mercy that he would do this for you or me. I know I'd feel obligated to hop into ye old fire lake. Its certainly what I deserve. What can I say but we are so unbelievably lucky that God loves us.
  13. just wait for a few months till everyone finds out about the donut holes. The ONLY insurance plans where you have a double premium, and its HUGE. All medicare partD programs count how much is spent. Once you hit the $2250 mark, you pay full price until you cross $3500. Thats in every plan. Im sure people will get a kick outta playing premiums for insurance that wont pay a cent for them.
  14. another question following in the line of Davids. How can so many people say they possess and use the gift of tongues, but not 1 person has the gift of interpretation? How can nearly every member of a charismatic church possess the same gift? Thats would seem to lose its impact. Gifts are to glorify God. 500 people in tongues with no translation doesnt do that. What about the more important gifts - love, prayer, faith, teaching? Also, touching on those that mentioned they don't believe in blind faith - God considers faith to be one of the greatest acts of man. Abraham was justified by faith. Paul preached the same commonly - by faith we are saved through grace. Its throughout the bible. Look at every example of people doing great things by faith in the bible - they had NO proof. You think David had any logical reason to think he would beat Goliath? What about Noah. God didnt speak to him for 100 years while he was building the ark! Just one message and then silence for over a century! Without that blind trust the human race would be gone! What about the apostles leaving thier lives to follow Jesus. They had no evidence they were doing anything but throwing thier lives away. Faith. Not proof. If you require proof for your faith in God, satan has already won. You have hamstrung yourself in glorifying God and sharing his love. How it glorified God for people to hang thier entire lives on a few words, and didicate themselves to the Lords work. Remember after Jesus rose and he was talking to Thomas, who had said he wouldnt believe till he saw Jesus and touched his wounds? And what Jesus said after Thomas had? John 20:29b blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed. We are justified by faith alone. Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
  15. rememeber, paul actively hunted and killed christians before he was saved.
