The reason some believe they can lose salvation isn't that they're reasoning spiritually, but carnally. This concept was introduced by the Roman Catholics way back when to control the masses. And now it's only a few who that believe they're secure because of that carnal thinking. 1. Bought with a price, you aren't your own. (You're a pearl purchased by the Lord God. Can you steal yourself out of God's treasury?) Matthew 13:45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 13:46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. 2. You can never be plucked out of the Saviors Hands. (I quoted it before: and no man shall pluck them out of my hand!) John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 3. There is no precedent where one is adopted, and then unadopted. (If you became a child of God, He wouldn't make you an orphan again! That would put you back in the hands of the devil. And if he's your daddy, you ain't got one...) Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (What need would there be for loving chastisement if salvation could be lost?)

No sir, I pretty much knew where you may be leading from the get go. I wouldn't argue that point in the least. Simplicity is there, however. But dispensationalism also is there in your explanation, which I can not necessarily agree with. Or am I totally missing the point? Do you subscribe to the opinions of Clarence Larkin and/or Cyrus Ingerson Scofield? If their opinions are reflected in the answer then dispensationalism is your key. My personal belief, which is also a historical view, is that Isreal is being continued by the church. Not a dispensational view at all.

Exactly where God led men to divide it. At the Gospels. I mean no disrespect to you or your belief's. Not my intention. Clarence Larkin started the dispensational methods of bible study over 100 years ago. Until then, they weren't really considered viable except by Schofield some years before. And then Amzi Dixon I believe refined them. Dispensationalism is very new on the scene, and I have never been convinced to subscribe to it. I hope I haven't lost a new friend already for my opinions!

One other thing. Do you believe that any of that can happen without God allowing it to happen? That's a very serious question.

Well said Dennis. I was making sure that this isn't what I was hearing from the OP. If it was, I wanted no part of it. Beyond a shadow of a doubt! There's none other name whereby we might be saved! And He is the only way praise God.

Thank you for that. But not believing in dispensational grace myself, you may not wonder why I was so boggled by the assertion of the OT saints were being excluded from the Body of Christ. For by grace are ye saved through faith, right? and Jesus said; no man cometh to the Father except by me. Right? Then where do we place Hebrews 11 in all this?

The whole word PROPHESY means foretelling of future events or warnings from God. And there are prophesy types. I think that's the pattern you may be talking about. One type would be a figurative (hey, listen here what could happen) like: 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Then there are the literal hey, this is whats gonna happen prophesies like Amos 8:11-12.

And there is so much conjecture as to what is fulfilled or unfulfilled prophecy.

I also don't believe there is any certainty to it myself. So often, if not most times, I look at the prophecy in a literal context. If so, then the words of the Lord did not disappear at the time of Amos, nor in the O.T. and N.T. gap. Not even in the slightest. The words of the Lord have endured, even up to today. So then humor me if you will. What would be the fulfillment of this prophecy in the literal sense. If you talked to the Fundamentalist Baptist, he would blame the new English versions because he believes that the KJV is the Word of God. If you talked to the many New Version advocates, they would say it's the willy nilly versions that just say what a particular group wants them to say that would cause this. And I have no idea what the willy nilly camp would say. Then you have the Mandela Effect guys who are saying that even now, the words of the Lord are being changed right before our eyes, and many are too blind to even see it, and if they do see it, refuse to acknowledge it. I posted somewhere on the forum that "the truth shall set you free" as I remember it to say. But if you read the text (John 8:32 in the kjv), it says, "the truth shall make you free". Would this be the strong delusion spoken of in the scriptures, or Amos 8:11-12 coming to fruition? This is the thing I mentioned in the welcome area that I had come to study. It's a worthy study, wouldn't you agree?
