How do I over come this?

As Chicken licken worried that the sky might fall. Examine ones worries are they realistic? Ones husband, child, parent is 5 minutes late. Is it realistic to automaticly assume the worst, or is it more realistic that they have been delayed and are simple late?

Silly examples but worries have to be looked at and seen for what they are, either rubbish, like the sky is falling or being too unrealistic. Either ay if reason does not stop worries get help, counselling or medication.

There is an element of sin in worrying as it takes away from our trust in God.

Sin is those actions we take that cause trouble. The Lord gave us commandments not to commit those actions. When we do, we experience the consequences of those actions. Salvation, I believe, is when the Lord steps in and rescues us from those consequences. He does that when we repent.

Really, so if you run a red light at speed and realise that the heavy truck coming through the green light is going to crush you and your car and you repent so God will stop the truck from crushing you. Is that what you believe? Because it is false.

Sin is disobedience to Gods law and has nothing to do with causing trouble.

jesus told us, if we lok at a girl and want to have sex with her. It is the same as if we did have sex with her. Sin is all about our thoughts and motives as well as our actions.

Just hard to believe youve never heard of anyone claiming the daily sacrifice was abolished in 167 bc.

People can claim what nonsence they like, the bible shows justhow incorrect they are, read Luke2: 22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”, 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.

Note the interesting words, Sacrifice in accordance with the law.  Something you say wasn't happening.

Note also Jesus as an adult was critcised for many things but failure to worship God was never one.

That means he took part in the temple worship, ie offered sacrifices.

What do you understand by Luke 13:1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

People killed while offering sacrifices. If you are right this didn't happen.

I think. The Lord will save us all from the messes we get ourselves into, if we turn to him. But then he expects us to learn from our mistakes.

What do you mean by 'save'?

Save from the consquences ofrunning a red light?  No

Save from the consquence of running a red light. 'Welcome into the joy of the Lord, good and faithfull servant'   yes.

is sex supposed to be saved for that one person you will marry or is it to be saved for marriage

Change the image for a moment.

Is a Brides wedding dress purely for the wedding, could she use it before the wedding to go to parties or shopping?

She knows she's getting married so why not?

    The same arguments apply.

    Keep it for marriage.

Is the glory seekers. Those folk who seek attention as if they are so special. That they have a kind of hotline to God.

If you are aware of people in need, particularly those in need of physical help, may I sugest that you enlist the help of the 'super spiritual' praising there "great heavenly value that makes them of extra earthly useful" so could they ........ on this rota which will be on the church notice board.

Being confronted with reality brings people down to earth.

Tv evangelist, don't watch them or any so called Chrisian programe that asks for money.

Do link up with others quitley work in the background, for support and to work more effectevely.

We had several ladies running around giving lifts on Sunday, untill they got together and organised so they didn't have two people calling to collect two people from the same road.

Visitation is also made more effecient if  several visitors co ordinate their visits etc etc etc

A bit late for my three penny worth.

Vicars get to meet all sorts of odds and bods all capable of putting 'foot in mouth' etc

May I suggest if you've time. Write down the questions you want to ask. To get the wording right and to clarify what questions you want to ask.

    Two useful sites.

The shipoffools mystery worshipper form for you to report on churches you visit.

    and

christianityexplored where one can find churches that support this in ones area.

The meetings are also a way to meet Christians without actually attending their church, usefull if nervous about attending strange churches.

The prohibitive stones and motar have been removed.

Except many are fixated on buildings.

The bible clearly teaches that we are the church and that we are to meet together, not for our benefit but to benefit others.

Much like in marriage we should be seeking the benefit/good of our spouse, so we should also be working as members of a church.

I think I can admit there is a God.

Untill you are sure there is a God investigating aspects of Gods actions is pointless.

How do you account for the fact that things do exists?

How do you account for life? If you say evolution please explain biogenese and how life got complicated?

    Here's a complicated one.

Account for Jesus who was he, what happened to him and why did his followers change?

. Maybe science and religion will need each other in the future.

The laugherble reality is that science does not function without Christianity.

A consitent, understandable/reasonable universe is theproduct of Christian philosophy and modern science stands with its feet firmly burried in it.

Ask any scientist why his science works?

    Why reason works?

    Why maths works?

They cannot explain why in a universe they believe came about through random events it is so ordered and reasonable.

t was recently “explained” to me that the history detailed in the Old Testament of the Bible consists of stories handed down from one person to the next, and that no doubt the stories became corrupted

How easily our own bias affects everything we see and hear.

Oral societies prize stories and repeat them as part of a community.

Imagine the chosen story-teller in the midest of his/her story making a mistake. It would be heard and commented on, to the shame and loss of status of the story-teller.

This is a self correcting mechanism that ensures stories are told and retold accuractely.

Then there is the evidence that the bible is historically accurate, everything from the use of egyption words etc in the mosacic liturature to the abscence of greek words and pharases in the so called greek influenced period of the OT.

Its not an uncommon doctrin. Most everyone who are of modern judaism believe this.

    From:- https://www.mechon-mamre.org/index.htm

A jewish site teaching about what Jews believce.

"When did Jews stop offering sacrifices, and why?

For the most part, the practice of sacrifice stopped in the year 70 C.E., when the Roman army destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem, the place where sacrifices were offered.  The practice was briefly resumed during the Jewish War of 132-135 C.E., but was ended permanently after that war was lost.  There were also a few communities that continued sacrifices for a while after that time."

It is difficult to speculate too much with confidence about any long river.

Yet it is pure speculation to say that a meandering river has cut through nearly a mile of solid rock. This is not seen anywhere in the world as happening today.

the former bottom of the sea had moved higher to an elevation well above sea level or both.

If you look at hydro surview sites you will, after some investigation, discover that if the sea bed was levaled out and raised up to a uniform height/depth the world would be totally covered by, depending on the site, up to a mile of seawater.

    Two problems for you.

1, where did all this water come from?

2, When the tectonics plates ( a recently accepted idea ) moved to provide a place for all that water, what effect would it have on the submerged land?

Please show me where in,  1Peter 3: 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

It says only speak when God tells you to. The verse is very clear to me,' give an answer to everyone who asks you for the reason for the hope you have.'

He would have told Adam to keep them, and pass the info along to the family.

And your evidence that Adam didn't know how God expected him and his decendants to live is?

That Cain and Able sought to worship God shows that they knew how to worship and the correct way to worship. It is in gen 6 that we read that wickedness was increasing.

After Noah a rightous man the world was populated by his sons who knew about God and how to serve him.

That people forgot or ignored what they were taught  about God is not surprising, what is, is how willing God has always been to bring people into his worship see 1Kings 8:41-43 Solomons dedication of the temple includes other nations coming because they have heard about God.

Salvation is from the Jews, because Jesus was born, brought up and lived as a Jew.

The book of Enoch explains the origin of evil spirits on earth.

As does the quran, folk myths and pagan religeons.

Evil spirits are not from God, so have nothing to do with them or with books that talk about them.

A christians primary study should be the bible not the book of enock or other books like it.

What door is He knocking on?

You need to read the whole chapter to understand, just quoting one verse always leads to missunderstanding.

In v 14 a letter to Laodicer is started, they are lukewarm in there faith, Jesus is knocking on their door to come in and restore their faith.

Esentially there is good historical reasons for believing in the resurrection, if someone is challenging it always ask them for there evidence and reasons for questioning whether it happened.

Even atheist historians accept that Jesus lived died by crucifiction and that his tomb was found to be empty. ( They put it that way as otherwise they would have to face the fact and consquences of an actual resurrection! )

    The question is this.

If the daily sacrifice were abolished prior to Christs death as some claim, then what offering  do they have for thier sin and how are they made clean and purified according to the word of God?

Who is claiming that the sacrifices were abolished prior to Jesus's crucifixtion?

What evidence is there that this happened and that they were not restarted?

As far as I know the Jewish sacrifices ceased when the romans sacked Jerusalem and looted the temple in AD70.
