  1. Who me

May I suggest that the priority is to open communication with your daughter. I see no reason why you shouldn't call her by what ever name she wants to use, but not to use the pronouns. You also need to discuss how she reacts with the rest of the family, about her demands, rather than talking with you. Do your research about the whole transgender issue. Do cover your relationship with prayer.
  2. As has been suggested don't leave anything of value in your room, if you can fit locks to wardrobes and chest of drawers or even fit a lock to the door to your room. Be honest when asked why, 'Because some of my things have disappeared from this room when I'm out.' That and find a family who are willing to rent a room out asap.
  3. We all walk a very fine line between being over come with sorrow for sins we've committed and being far too casual about sin. You have the added promlem of not setting off your OCD. If you are worried/scared then tell God you are sorry and having done that trust God's promise to forgive and if your OCD or your fears brings up past sins. Then you thank God thast he has forgiven you them.
  4. There are some scary things in the bible and this is one of them. The good news is that if you are a Christian and are frightened of commiting this sin. Take heart because you haven't committed it. The unforgivable sin is to reject Jesus as Saviour. Note, The God who formed you, also planned your salvation before he created the universe. He knows all about your OCD, how it affects you, what it makes you do. He still loves you to go and die a disgusting death to save you. He is not going to let a few thoughts, that you regret, separet you from him. As Paul in Romans 8 wrote 'there is Nothing in All creation that can separate you from the Love of Jesus.'
  5. And you have already said that it doesn't. Make up your mind, does science confirm what Ken Ham and other say or is the bible strip mined of meaning so it agrees with what atheists say is how creation happened.
  6. You can find out by reading his biography
  7. In all honesty so rarely that it doesn't happen. I find it hard enough to seek to be obedient to contemplate what is unimaginable.
  8. Science rest on and is totaly dependant on Christianity, without which would be unable to account for anything. Can you provide an explanation for the reasonbleness of the universe, why maths can be used to discribe and explain just about anything. Why is it that the universe is consistent, rules do not suddenly change. Christian scientists built the science that atheist try to use to do away with God. Yet they cannot explain why the universe works.
  9. Good to know you disagree with a great many renowed Christian like isac newton. If the bible cannot be trusted about beginings how can it be trusted about Jesus?
  10. I'm only commenting on your comment that inserting God into string therory supports the bible. Which as you've confirm it doesn't.
  11. How does the string theory support the biblical idea that the universe was created some 6k years ago?
  12. No. because string theory is an attempt to explain why there is auniverse without the need for a creator. You may gain insights into Christianity, God etc from science but any insights will have to be checked against what scripture teaches. Any science that does not start by recognising God as creator and susatainer is going to produce errors when it moves beyond what can be measured, recorded and repeated.
  13. Do you mean Matt21:43.43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.” or Luke 3: 7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” 10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked. 11 John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” 12 Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?” 13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them. 14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.” Always read the context to get an idea of what any passage is about. John the Baptist is saying what Jesus himself also said. You will know Christians by there deeds. We are all to put into practise in our daily lives the standard of behaviour that Jesus commands us to live by. That is the ten commandments as understood by the sermon on the mount.
  14. Who me

    Should I wait on

Does this man know you exist? Do you meet him and talk to him? Does he willingly talk with you, is he interested in what you say? Does he already have a girlfriend? If he does not know you exist and he is going away to medical school, then you are in for a heart break. If you reqularly are able to spend time, say after church, or meet him in town and chat, then suggest going for a coffe. If he does not wilingly spend time talking with you, again you are heading for heart break. Talk to him, suggest going for a coffe. If he wilingly agrees for the two of you to go for a coffee, then something might happen. If he ropes in the whole youth group then you have no hope.
  15. And. If one looks for coincidence then one will find them. Do you think God is interested in a secular, read atheistic, society? Salvation for Jew and gentile is only through Jesus. God may well be honouring his promises to abraham, but those promises are also conditional that Israel keeps the covernant. Is Israel keeping the covernant? I don't think so. So all Israel can expect is judgement for not keeping the covernant.
  16. And what are the views of your pastor, of the sunday school leader who will need to replace you and of the other posistions you fill in your church? I ask this for two reasons. 1. your church will support you financialy, prayerfully and emotionally. If they are not behind you you will struggle. 2nd. If you are not already active in serving Jesus, how will you start serving Jesus in a culture and language you don't know. Your church will already have an interest in several mission organisations. Start by subscribing to there prayer letters/emails. Use google to find others and ditto. Start attending regularly your churches missionary prayer meetings and find out about other churches meetings and attend. Have you been to a theological college? Most missionary agencies want you to have been, partly so you know what and why you believe, but also for the cross cultural lectures. If you are serious about missionary work, I will have insulted you because you are already doing all I've suggested. If you are not, think again.
  17. release your faith through your declarations, and then expect them to manifest. expect money, expect miracles. Sorry but this is unbiblical nonsence. God does not do 'party tricks' just because we want him to perform for our purposes. The miracles Jesus did were called 'signs' because they pointed to who and what he is. If we are serving God where and how he wants us to then if it is in accordance with his will he may do something amazing. We trust God not because of signs and wonders but because he is the Truth, the Life and the WAY.
  18. Controlling any desire requires effort and disacipline. Counting to ten before buying that extra large bar of chocolate, before saying/posting that 'super smart' comment, or before any questionable action gives one a moment to stop, but reflexes can mean that damaging comment is out. Hard work and discipline and the humility to truely apologise is needed.
  19. Sorry they are a collection of dates widely spread through history with a very thin thread that collnects them and that is Jews. There is no pattern no comonality. It is just supersition. If there review of their lives and actions brings anyone into a saving relationship with Jesus it has some purpose otherwise it is supersition.
  20. As Beajangles says, listen to who ever is leading in prayer, indicate agreement if you want to by saying out loud 'Yes' or 'Amen' and when the prayer is finished if you agree, if he has said what you would want saying say a loud AMEN.
  21. A help mate is what you are. You are helping to pay the bills, keep house and encourage your husband. Just what more does your family think you should be doing? You want a job that will challenge your faith. OK, talk to your work collegues, ask them questions, find out why they bewlieve what they believe and what evidence they have for those beliefs and contrast what the believe with what biblical Christianity believes. Note I said biblical, not what your churc or denomination believes. It takes faith to challenge the worldly mind set of our neighbours and work collegues, do you have the faith to do it? If your husband is constantly discouraged, is having trouble motivating himself, get him to a doctor. I am afraid you have to make up your mind. Do you want to be pregnant or not? May I suggest you concentrate on getting your husband through his education and into a better paying job. Then finish your course and start thinking about starting a family.
  22. Christianity meets on the first day of the week to remember that this was the day that Jesus rose from the dead. It does not matter what day we meet together so long as we do meet together. Sunday is confient, but if in your area Christians want to meet on a Wednesday or before dawn on a Monday or on any day at any time go for it. Jesus told the Samaritan woman that God wants to be worshipped in Spirit and in Truth. So whether you meet every Tuesday lunch time, or on Thursday after tea it does not matter. It only matters if one says that we Must meet on this day and on this day only, then it becomes a work to earn salvation.
  23. Why do you think it is a sin to drink beer, wine or cider? At the wedding in Cannan Jesus turn something like a 100 gallons of water into wine! He was accused of being a drunkard. I can think of only one reason when one should not drink any form of alcohol and that is when you are with a recoveing alcoholic oh and when driving etc. Otherwise drink sensible, not getting drunk or so tippsy that you are a bad witness.
  24. Calling out to God to say "I'm sorry for what I've done. I want to change. I want to accept you Jesus as my Lord and Saviour." Is serious stuff. One has to mean it One has to start changing. One has to start reading the bible and attending church. One gets laughed at from those you call friends, who do not know God is real, far realer than death, he is life, life everlasting. If you are serious do it. Doesn't matter what you say, do it and go to church and talk to the preacher.

You are already doing the two most effective things you can do. Praying for her. Showing her the Love of God through your life. What you can also do is pray for her Father and her Mother and to show as much love as you can to him. May I suggest sending him a 'Christian' birthday card, Christmas and Easter cards. To tell him you pray that he will have a safe drive. Edit and store her mind with biblical verses and memorise of happy times with Grandma and at her church.
