I have a hard time believing anyone wants to hear from me. I feel like a burden, and like I am always wrong about something. I have a hard time believing any of my friends like me, Or want to be around me, or that they are even my friends. Prayers.
I am sorry you are questioning yourself worth.
Two facts that demonstrate your feelings are incorrect are, Jesus loves you and you do have friends.
Please talk to someone you trust about your feelings.
You may need to get professional counselling, but p.ease do talk to someone.

That guy from the revival in Wales
Which guy from Wales, there's Christmas Evans, yes that's a real name. Or do you mean Evan Roberts and the 1904 revival, or Dr Martin Lloyd Jones from the Westminster Chapel London UK.

..."Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. The place in the Scripture which he read was this:
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea."....
There is a very big problem in using this passage.
It assumes that any person it is given to is as active in Christian service as Philip was.
Is it fair or honest to use it as advice for a person whose Christian walk and service is unknown.

I think you are very well qualified as you've reminded us all that life is short and that things, deeds etc not said or done cannot be said or done once they have died.

We are not to care about in general what a lot of the world cares about.
Jesus said ' I am come that you might have life to the full.'
If you are finding life dull and boring, you need a change.
We are to care about the world, environment ent, other people etc so get involved in any of these issues.
Here's a qu3stion for you to ask people.
Why are you concerned about....?
What reason do you have for being concerned?
Only Christianity has solid reasons for caring for the environment etc and for people.
Do get a job that you enjoy, or are passionate about.
Jesus was accused of being a glutton and a drunkard. He was neither, but clearly enjoyed eating and drinking with friends.
Many people live for pleasure as you have lamented about, as Christians we have a reason and purpose in life, and can enjoy all of God's creation, it is a matter of priorities.

Do you have friends other family you could visit, activities you could do, or work, while at your parents?
Why do you have to stay for weeks?
Travelling can be expensive, so could you replace a visit with weekly zoom calls or invite them to visit you?

It is to do what is right, but to be aware and to apply mercy where it is applicable.
It is also being a voice for the voiceless, to support those who are victims of injustice etc etc.

But I am really only asking this because of what I feel may in fact be the kind of “calling” God has put on my life, but still not sure exactly what that might be?
You really need to discuss this with your minister.
He will have a far better idea of your abilities etc than we on line can ever have.
If you read missionary biographies, you'll see a common thread in that they all where working in there local church and were active in spreading the gospel.
If you are not involved, get involved as it will enable you to test whether you have a ' calling ' as well as letting your church test whether you have a calling.

The rich can give 90% and the poor are not forced or sucked to give.
To give is based on cheers and willingness not by Law.
Thats the New Testament.
Please show where I have said forced, or given any hint of compulsion in giving.
Note, if you live in the west then you are one of the rich.

Well said this is a forgotten ministry by most Christians.
Think I'm wrong?
When did you last attend a prayer meeting for the persecuted church?
When did you last pray intelligently for persecuted Christians?
When was there any information given about the persecuted church in a church meeting?
As I said a shameful forgotten ministry.
If challenged one can start by looking at and starting to subscribe to any of the missionary agencies try:-
Open Doors UK & Ireland
Open Doors serves persecuted Christians around the world by providing vital support, delivering resources, and providing training.
www.opendoorsuk.org
Feba
Charity
www.feba.org.uk
Barnabas Aid: Hope and Aid for the Persecuted Church
Barnabas Aid works to provide hope and aid for suffering Christians.
www.barnabasaid.org
Poverty is not God's plan. You are.
Be part of transforming communities and empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty.
www.tearfund.org
Or any third world missionary society they all report on the suffering Christian.
Then talk to your minister about your churches involvement or lack of.
Most minister will promptly pass the buck back to you.
So go prepared to ask for a monthly 5-10 minute slot in the church service to talk about the persecution of Christians.
Meet with the pastor and elders to advocate the church officially supports an agency supporting persecuted Christians with prayer and cash.
Suggest the youth work takes an interest maybe by sponsoring a child in a persecuted group?
Arrange for a monthly prayer meeting, where depends on numbers.
You will need to prepare briefing sheets for the countries being prayed for, the organisations above will supply details.
If there is a church magazine or Web site, write articles for submission.
Find out about meetings else where about the persecuted Church, advertise them and where possible attend.
Finally start fund raising to support what ever organisations your church is willing to support. -

A very important principal found only in the judeochristian world view.
It is well worth remembering and when asked about other justice issues by non Christians, to ask them why should they be concerned about justice for all?
To ask where does this concept Come from?

How can a Christian saved by grace give less out of their love for Jesus than those compelled to give by law?

Plus there is both government and societal oppression with real physical danger now in being Christian in the USA.
One simple example can be seen when going into church now; look and take in seeing security cameras, doorway attendants that are armed and trained, medical personnel and equipment at the ready, body guards for overseers (pastors).
The ' West ' a common term to cover Europe and North America, the historically Christian and wealthy part of the world.
Yes Society is growing increasingly hostile to Christianity and to Christians.
Yet your reply shows ignorance about what is happening to Christians.
What use would your security systems and armed guards against a government lead attack on your church?
How would the members of your church react to the loss of their employment, because they were Christian, or to an attack on their home by the majority of people in the neighbourhood?
It's an old account of the nature of persecution, persecution that spending money on protection would have little or no affect.

Its the New Testament, you give what you want to give. Not forced by anything.
Who's talking about force. How can a Christian saved by grace willingly out of love for his saviour give less than was legal required under the law.
Are Christian to be tightfisted and mean in their giving?

I also feel I have too many responsibilities to pursue God
May I suggest you have a hard look at those responsibilities.
Do they 'have' to be done when you could be at church?
Do they really stop you being involved at church?
Is there anybody at church you can talk to about this, or with your spouse etc?
As the blade says there is a lot about ' feelings ' . Feelings have to be fed, feelings for one you love grow because of time spent with them, of thoughts spent on them, by talking with them.
The same applies to God

GaHere in the west we have not began to suffer for our faith as any reading of missionary magazines or websites will show.
Do readers and posters know what is happening to Christians around the world?
How often do they pray for there brothers and sisters who are in real distress and need.
Historically this happened as Pliny recounts:-
"in the case of those who were denounced to me as Christians, I have observed the following procedure: I interrogated these as to whether they were Christians; those who confessed I interrogated a second and a third time, threatening them with punishment; those who persisted I ordered executed."
Who is ready for this?

It was a census donation for the Hebrew nation and the church has no right to copy that.
The church, as a local organisation of Christians, has the right to fund itself.
If a congregation wants its own buildi g aphid full-time pastor, youth worker cleaner etc etc etc than thatchurchhas to fund those things.
An Israelite had no choice he had to tithe. If that was required of those under the law, what can those who are under grace freely give that exceeds the requirements of the law.

The early Church existed in a very hostile society where Christians were seen as enemies of the state/society and they suffered the consequences.
yet it was Christianity that transformed there society.
How?
Through the grace of God they lived Christ like lives, caring for those in need supporting the abandoned, the dying of plagues,by the quality of their life's challenging society.
We need to love the unloved sacrificaly, to live lives that are visibly different.
We need Christians to work in the media who are prepared to present Christian ideas, vie2points and so influence others.
We need Christians to engage in debate, challenging societies ideas. Reminding society of just how uch they depend on a Christian worldview, of how no other worldview fits or sustains the rights claimed by people today

Thoughts on Forgiveness
in General Discussion
Posted
Are we!
Jesus does not forgive those who do not repent, and he does not expect us to do so either.
Luke17:3 shows that repentance is a vital part of forgiveness.
The parabel of the unjust servant shows we who have been forgiven, on our repentance, must forgive those who repent of offending against us.
As you rightly say we are to pray for and to do good to those who offend against us.
That praying involves us opening up to God about how they have hurt us, about our feelings and to ask that God deals with us and our hurt feelings as well as for God to deal with the offender.
