Church Civil War And Letters from the "Church Fathers"
Resurrection Priest replied to Yishai's topic in General Discussion
If "the law and the prophets" were only "until John" (the Baptist), then "the law" was not ended with the death of Messiah. It had already ended with the preaching of John the Baptist. I've never heard that before. I think perhaps the words "until John" have been misunderstood. I believe the words "the law and the prophets were until John" MEANT "the law and prophets" were pointing to Messiah, who appeared with His baptism by John. -
Hebrew Roots and Diety of Jesus/Yahshua
Resurrection Priest replied to Jedi4Yahweh's topic in Understanding Hebrew Roots
In your opinion. Which is OK. We all share our views. 1+1 = 2, body+spirit=soul a "whole of you", no solid scriptural proof that the Spirit of God is a third divine person (never worshiped, no name, etc. etc.). And because the majority hold a view, does not prove that view is correct. The majority got it wrong, quite often - at least in the Scriptures. The problem comes when folks with one view, tell folks with another view that they are "lost", or "antichrist", or a "cult", or "wrong", etc. etc. etc. NOTE: I am fine with verses like 1 John 4:2. "This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." That one is pretty plain. Because I hold one view and you another, does not automatically make one of us "wrong" and the other "right". We could both be off in some aspects. The desire to "get it right" when it comes to doctrines, or interpretations is in all of us - all who are seeking to "know" YHVH. But we are all trying to see through fogged glass. How can we see everything clearly? We are trying to "see" into another dimension, with physical eyes. It's just not possible to "see" it all, and "know" it all. Which is why I never claim that anyone will be saved, or lost, by coming to agree with my view of things. I will only say that from my study, at this point in time, this is where I believe the "weight of evidence" falls. Adam and Eve were "one flesh" - but two persons. The "image of God" could not be represented by Adam alone. It takes both mother and father to represent the LORD to their children. Jesus prayed that we would be "one" with Him and with His Father (John 17:21-23). That does not make us part of their Godhead. To be "one" in that sense, means to be "of one mind" - thinking the same, or indwelt by the same spirit (which is influencing the thoughts). -
Hebrew Roots and Diety of Jesus/Yahshua
Resurrection Priest replied to Jedi4Yahweh's topic in Understanding Hebrew Roots
Personally I dislike the word "cult". It is used far too often to label those who hold a minority view. It is putting a label on anyone who shares a view regarded by the speaker as heretical. Anyway. I do believe that Jesus was/is "God". He should receive worship. GOD the Father commanded all the angels to worship His newborn son. The disciples "worshiped Him" (Luke 24:52). NOTE: It is rather difficult to bow before "the throne" occupied by BOTH Father and Son, and not worship BOTH. I also totally believe that the Word "became flesh". God's Son was incarnated into the womb of Mary, and was born into the world as a human being. Hebrews 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone." (Heb 2:9 NKJ) Hebrews 2:17 "For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." (NIV) I believe that God's Son, when He was incarnated, "emptied Himself" of divine powers (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence). He became dependent upon His Father for any power. He said, "the Father who dwells in me, does the works". Philippians 2:7 "rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." (NIV) To recover the dominion for humankind, lost through disobedience, God's Son would need to be "obedient unto death" as a man (Phil 2:8). That is what He did. After His resurrection/ascension, the Father glorified His Son, thus returning much of His divine powers. He was given "the name" and the position which is "above every name", though the Son will never be regarded as "above" His Father. 1 Corinthians 15:24 "Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all." (NIV) There is a hierarchy, and the Son of God is NOT above "His God and Father". Nor is Christ equal to "His God and Father". He is and will be "subject to His Father. 1 Corinthians 11:3 "But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." Which does strongly hint that God the Father and His Son, are NOT the same being. They are two separate divine persons. One was "begotten" (somehow came into existence) from (out of) the other. I believe that instant was "the beginning". I do NOT BELIEVE the Son had no beginning. I believe the Son began to exist, but at the instant where eternity met "time". The Son could have existed within God the Father - before He "came forth from the Father" (John 16:28). Sort of like Levi himself paid tithes through his forefather Abraham. -
Hebrew Roots and Diety of Jesus/Yahshua
Resurrection Priest replied to Jedi4Yahweh's topic in Understanding Hebrew Roots
If God the Father beget another being - a second divine being. Wouldn't that second being have the same nature as the first being. He would be GOD. If Jason begets a Son, that Son would be human - just like Jason. It all depends on whether one believes that God's "Son" was literally "begotten" in the heavenly realm, prior to His incarnation into the womb of Mary. One could say "GOD gave His only begotten Son" and that be taken/understood in more than one way. Depends on just when you believe God the Father "beget" His Son. Same with verses that say "God sent His only Son". WHEN exactly did God the Father "send" His Son into the world? Is this just speaking of a "calling", to go out from home into the larger "world", OR is this God the Father sending His begotten Son into our dimension, to live in our world? All goes back to whether "GOD" is a Trinity, or a Father, who gave His actual literal "Son". -
Thoughts on Homosexuality
Resurrection Priest replied to ChristianBoy1243's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
"Are People BORN GAY?" DVD lecture by Georgia Purdom Phd. Published by: Answers in Genesis.org Dr Purdom reviews all the studies so far. Concludes there is NO EVIDENCE that people are ever "born gay". Men are not "born" monogamous either. Doesn't mean they can't act monogamous (with the LORD's help). Or celibate. Either is acceptable - in the NT. -
Psalm 37:11 "But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." Isaiah 65:17 "See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind." 2 Peter 3:13 "Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells." There will be no great ocean, that covers 75% of the earth. Not there won't be really great lakes. God did create whales after all. Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. (Rev 21:1 NKJ) So we will live forever on a "new" earth. Right now, GOD is in Heaven. Someday - once all sin is cleansed from the earth - GOD and the Lamb will be in the New Jerusalem, after that City descends to be on the earth. Revelation 21:22 "But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple." We will go for some period of time - to Heaven. John saw those who had gotten the victory over the Beast power, standing on the Crystal Sea. That "sea" is before the throne of GOD in Heaven. Revelation 15:2 "And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God." After that, we will come back to the earth. As to what we will look like, when Jesus appeared to John in Revelation, His hair was white (Revelation 1:14). He didn't have white hair when He died. So - I don't know what we will look like. I do know we will "be known". As for the animals, yes - they will be tame. They will be as they were in the first creation, with no fear of human beings. They will respond to human beings like loyal faithful dogs respond to their loving masters now. But better. Isaiah 11:9 "They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." And no "thorns" or "thistles" either. That was part of "the curse" on the ground (Genesis 3:18). The wildness of the animals began after the flood of Noah. (Gen 9:2)

This seems like a repeat of threads like - New Covenant only for Israel, Israel is not the Church, Covenant of Law vs Covenant of Grace, etc. etc. etc. I see lots of OT stories of individuals with the Spirit of God, who lived righteous lives (not perfect). Their sins were forgiven, same as ours. They looked forward to the cross when they offered sacrifice, and we look back when we eat the bread and the wine. Genesis 41:38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" Numbers 27:18 And the LORD said to Moses: "Take Joshua the son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;" 2Kings Cpt 4 Elisha the prophet prayed, and the young son of his friends was raised from the dead. Daniel 5:12 He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means." And how 'bout all those in the "faith chapter" - Hebrews 11 ? Faith is one of the "gifts" of the Spirit. No one just "has faith" in and of themselves. One must open his heart to the LORD, who then gives faith. 1 Corinthians 12:9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, FAITH is a gift GOD gives to us. Not a gift we give to HIM. Hebrews 11:4 "By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks." Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Caleb, Joshua, Rahab - all these acted in faith - believing they would receive. Habakkuk 2:4 "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith." If you're "just", you've been justified (declared righteous). Matthew 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour." Acts 15:9 "and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith."

The powerlessness of Grace when mixed with the Law
Resurrection Priest replied to alaric_w's topic in General Discussion
This thread began with a statement that the Old Testament was the Covenant of Law, and the New Testament is the Covenant of Grace. I thought there was lots of "grace" during the Old Testament period. "Grace" means "unmerited favor. "Noah found grace." Israel found grace. Lots of it. Deuteronomy 9:6 "Know therefore, that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness; for you are a stubborn people." RSV That's grace. If no one was ever "justified by works of the law", then how was anyone ever saved from that time period? And we know of many who will be saved into the forever kingdom. Answer: they offered sacrifices, which typified Yeshua. They looked forward - in faith - to Messiah, just like we look back - in faith, when we eat the bread and drink the wine. We're all looking - in faith - to the same person. Yeshua our Savior. The people of the First Covenant were not saved in a different way - by perfect behavior. They just looked forward in a different way - different symbols (animal sacrifices instead of the "bread" and the "wine"). They did not behave perfectly. Neither do we. The remedy was/is Jesus the Messiah and Savior. -
The powerlessness of Grace when mixed with the Law
Resurrection Priest replied to alaric_w's topic in General Discussion
1. Yes I do - except for the words "dwell with the disobedient". 2. The Holy Spirit is "given to those who obey Him", according to the verse you quoted. (Acts 5:32) The Spirit of God leaves those who continue in willful, rebellious disobedience. -
The powerlessness of Grace when mixed with the Law
Resurrection Priest replied to alaric_w's topic in General Discussion
Just reading through the posts in this thread. Grace vs Law. I thought your post was great - almost all of it. Only part I disagreed with, was rendering "the Sabbath" a symbol (foreshadow), and excluding any literal command to stop "work" (things we do to make a living). Seems like the Sabbath - for you - is in the catagory of symbolic prophectic type. Something symbolic, that pointed forward to Christ, so that now we can just rest in Jesus' completed work. We no longer sacrifice lambs, and we no longer need to literally stop working during the Sabbath, to supply our needs for food/clothing/shelter/etc. Are any of the other 9 commandments solely symbolic/prophetic, excluding any need for literal action/inaction? I thought the examples: feeding babies, fallen ladder, sheep in the ditch, were misplaced. Those things are allowed in the Torah - especially if the ladder fell on the neighbor. And Christ healing on the Sabbath was allowed - for Him. Jesus did not break "the Law" of "God His Father", in the slightest degree. He "was obedient unto death" (Phil 2:8). Firemen, pharmacists, nurses, security personnel are all serving essential needs that continue on/through the Sabbath hours. All through the history of Israel, the priests who gutted and cleaned the animals for sacrifice on the Sabbath, were NOT breaking the Law. They were providing essential services, and were doing so at the LORD's command. And THAT was a lot of physical effort - dressing animals for sacrifice. The disciples of Christ, who plucked a few grains to eat, first rolling them in their own hands to clean them, were NOT breaking the Sabbath. That was just the false accusation of the Pharisees with their phony Oral Torah (added laws). -
HEBREWS 9 THE NEW TESTAMENT WAS FOR ISRAEL ONLY
Resurrection Priest replied to douge's topic in Theology
All those who believe in Jesus as God's only begotten Son, are presently "betrothed to Him" by a NEW covenant of marriage. (The first one is now obsolete. 1. adultery 2. the "husband" died) Ancient Middle Eastern marriage custom: Marriage was contracted between the father of the bride to be, and the father of the groom - each accompanied by a “witness.” This betrothal was the binding marriage covenant! Adultery during this period of betrothal was punishable by death. The period of betrothal lasted about one year, during which time the groom would “prepare a place” for his bride (usually an apartment within the extended family compound). When this “home” was completed - the date was set for “the wedding”. The ceremony was simple. The groom’s attendant lifted the veil from the bride’s face. Draping it over the shoulder of the groom he pronounced, “The government shall be upon his shoulder” (Isa. 9:6). The bride then accompanied her husband back to his family home, where the wedding feast, and consummation of the marriage, took place. (Gower, Ralph, The New Manners and Customs of Bible Times, Moody Press, Chicago, pg65.; Alexander, P.T., The Lion Encyclopedia of the Bible, Reader’s Digest, pg.166.) We are now betrothed to Yeshua Messiah. The “marriage feast” and full consummation is yet to come, AFTER "Israel" (all of the saved) are returned to "the land" that is the inheritance of our "Husband" - Jesus Christ. We don't "marry" Jesus at the "marriage of the Lamb". That will be the marriage feast. Notice it says, "His wife has made herself ready." She's already His wife legally - by the betrothal (marriage) covenant. Revelation 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." (NKJ) Every believer will go into the Heavenly realm for the wedding feast. We will stand before the throne, on the "sea of glass". But we will come back to this earth, which Christ will heal and restore "new", for our eternal home. Is this an argument for "the pre-trib rapture", where "the church" is transported to "heaven", leaving the Jews on earth with the rest of the unbelievers for 7 years? I don't believe in the whole pre-trib rapture thing. -

Huh?? There's only ONE Gospel - Good News. -
HE IS OUR ENEMY Satan: 52 times - means “accuser” The Accuser of the Brethren: 1 time (Revelation 12:10) Devil: 34 times - meaning “slanderer” (one who makes false accusations) John 8:44 [Jesus to the Pharisees] "You are of your father the Devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.” (NAS) The Deceiver: (Revelation 12:9) Liar and “the Father of lies”: (John 8:44) Tempter: 2 times Ruler of this world: 3 times (Jn 12:31, Jn 14:30, Jn 16:11) God of this Age: (2Corinthians 4:4) The prince and power of the air: Ephesians 2:2 “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” Ruler of Demons: 4 times (Matt 9:34, Matt 12:24, Mar 3:22, Lk 11:15) Satan and his demons are fallen rebel angel spirit beings. Jude 1:6 “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling-- these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.” (NIV) Disguises himself as an angel of light in order to deceive. (2Cor 11:14) Evil One: 5 times (Matt 5:37, Matt 6:13, Lk 11:4, Jn 17:15, 2Thess 3:3) Belial: (2Cor 6:15) meaning “vileness” The Enemy or Adversary: (1Peter 5:8) Murderer: (John 8:44) Like a roaring lion: 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Abaddon and Apollyon: both mean “destroyer” (Revelation 9:11) Beelzebub: 3 times in parallel Gospels - meaning lord of the house, used as a common name for the Ruler of Demons Prince of Persia: (Daniel 10:20) This may be a high demon. It is not specific. Only that Gabriel the angel from the LORD who came to Daniel, would later fight with “the Prince of Persia”. HIS BEGINNING Lucifer: meaning “Light Bearer” or Day Star (Isaiah 14:12) NOTE: The true Day Star is Jesus (Revelation 22:16). He is “the Light” (John 1:9). Satan wanted this highest position. He wanted to supercede the Son of God. His jealousy caused his “fall”. Son of the Morning: (Isaiah 14:12) Anointed covering cherub: (Ezekiel 28:14) The two covering cherub on the Ark of the Covenant, show us that this position was closest to GOD Himself. HIS FALL Created being: Ezekiel 28:15 “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. Fallen Angel: Isaiah 14:12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!” (NAS) Serpent of Old: Revelation 12:9 “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” The Devil used a tree snake in the Garden of Eden, to speak lies to Eve about GOD (Gen.Cpt 3). HIS FUTURE Revelation 12:7-10 “And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. And the dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. (NAS) BOUND 1000 YEARS Revelation 20:1-2 “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;” Revelation 20:3 “and he cast him into the bottomless pit [the abyss], and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.” This is where Satan gets the name “Angel of the Abyss”. RELEASED from the Abyss - then final war - then finally thrown into the LAKE of FIRE Revelation 20:10 [At the final Gog/Magog Battle] “and the Devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet were [thrown Rev 19:20], and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever [unto the age of the ages]. Satan and all the angels were created by the Son of God who (created all things). If demons have "the nature of devilism", how did they come to have that nature? They would have to be created with that nature. I don't believe that. I believe they were created good - just like everything else GOD has "created". But they were allowed freewill - just like all other sentient beings. They chose to rebel. Exactly why? Who knows? The LORD allows forgiveness for those who sinned because they were "deceived" or ignorant - like us humans. If Lucifer deceived the other angels with his lies, and some of them later wanted to return to the Father, could HE forgive them? Did the Father allow them to return? Could be. I think it's possible, but only early on in the war. Guess we will find out someday. Once Satan's crew murdered GOD's Son, they could never go back.
-
Matthew 25:41 "the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:" (NKJ) So when was that everlasting fire "prepared" ? Was Christ just saying that would definitely be their end? Was Christ simply predicting their future? Or was He saying that the "everlasting fire" had already been "prepared" - like it was already a done deal? I believe that when Satan and his, drove humans to murder the Son of God, that is when they crossed the line of no-return. Satan is was not deceived. He did this with his eyes wide open.

HEBREWS 9 THE NEW TESTAMENT WAS FOR ISRAEL ONLY
Resurrection Priest replied to douge's topic in Theology
To receive the blessings of the Covenant with Abraham, Gentiles must become part of "Abraham's seed". They can do that only by coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:29 "And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." This applies to BOTH - Hebrew descendants and Gentiles. If you are NOT "in Christ", then you will not "inherit" or receive anything promised in that covenant. We inherit "in Him". -
I was teaching a group one day, not all of whom I knew personally. A woman in the front row asked a question. I had my answer formulated in my mind, and began to answer. I heard different words coming from my mount, that had not gone through my brain first. Must admit. It rather shocked me. I was hearing the perfect answer to her question. One I had not thought of. The LORD was just using my vocal apparatus to give all of us that answer. Can I count that as speaking with tongues. I think so.

But you must explain what Paul meant by "speaking in tongues". Did Paul "not forbid" speaking gibberish that no one - not even the speaker, could understand? Or did Paul "not forbid" speaking real foreign languages that would "edify the church" by winning new converts. Friend of mine is a former Pentecostal, who used to speak "in tongues" quite often. She has told me that this speaking was always accompanied by feelings of peace and closeness with God. She sought out that feeling - that experience, more and more. But she began to sense that all was not right. She realized that she was neglecting real Bible study, and preferred the feeling experience. She finally came to see that her feeling experience was not coming from the LORD. It was coming from another source - from the Enemy. She has renounced all gibberish tongues speaking. The Enemy was using her tongues speaking, as "grounds" to harass her mind in other ways. Once she renounced the tongues, she was able to find freedom from evil spirit harassment. She was also able to study her Bible with a clear mind.

HEBREWS 9 THE NEW TESTAMENT WAS FOR ISRAEL ONLY

The "wall" of separation that kept Gentiles out, has been torn down. Ephesians 2:11 "Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles . . . were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility" (ESV) He has made us - believing Jew and believing Gentiles - "both one" - one body. Whether you call that one body "Israel" or "the church" (which means "the congregation"), it's the SAME GROUP. It is made up of those who believe in Christ Jesus. There are NOT two different groups who belong to God and Christ. There's only one body - one bride. The New Jerusalem has foundations named for the 12 Apostles, and gates named for the 12 Tribes of Israel - but it's ONE CITY - ONE BRIDE. -
Well the disciples did hold "all things in common" (Acts 4:32). The difference I see between communism and Christianity, is the voluntary aspect of it. They might seem somewhat alike. But for those born in communist countries, it isn't voluntary. It is forced. Such a system cannot work without the use of force, because it is fighting the innate selfishness of the human heart. Only GOD through Christ can change the human heart. When educators and media and websites try to force (shame) folks into acting unselfishly, while at the same time teaching there is no "God" who "created all things", or "gave His only begotten Son" - all their efforts will fail.

HEBREWS 8 THE NEW COVENANT IS NOT FOR THE CHURCH
Resurrection Priest replied to douge's topic in Theology
The subject of two covenants is so large! There's the argument about "new" vs "renewed". And the argument about just who/what "Israel" is. First: Every believer is "grafted in" to Israel. Israel IS the "Olive Tree" of Romans Cpt 11. (Jeremiah 11:16). Really. Where do you think Paul got that idea from? Yeshua is "the root", because the root is called "holy". That "Israel" is not about DNA. That Israel is about faith. It is the Israel of faith. Second: There HAD TO BE A NEW COVENANT. The LORD had given a "bill of divorcement" to Israel (the 10 Northern Tribes), and Judah was "widowed" when the "husband" of her Sinai Covenant died by murder, on a cross. The first marriage covenant - the Sinai Covenant - really was rendered obsolete for any Israelite living after the death of Yeshua. The “new covenant” is also a marriage covenant. We are now “betrothed” to “Him who was raised from the dead” by a new covenant of marriage (. The wedding feast has not yet taken place, nor the consummation of that covenant (Ezekiel 36:26), but we ARE presently under that new covenant, IF we belong to Christ Jesus. His death sealed that covenant. 2 Corinthians 11:2 [Paul] “For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” (Betrothal is a covenant!) Ephesians 5:23 “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” Matthew 22:2 “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son,” Revelation 19:7 “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:9 “Then he said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” "Israel" IS "the congregation" (translation : "the church"). Paul said, "all Israel will be saved". (After some serious "pruning" - of course) The whole teaching of two bodies - "Israel" and "the church" is a serious division of the one "body of Christ". -
Circumcision: A Foreshadow of the New Covenant
Resurrection Priest replied to Biblican's topic in Understanding Hebrew Roots
Another thought on how both males and females can receive "circumcision". In circumcision a part of "flesh" was cut away. Is this also symbolic of the day when our old "flesh" - our present bodies, will be gone, and we will be given the new "spiritual body" ? Joshua lead Israel across the Jordan which was "opened" for them. Then Joshua "circumcised the people" (Joshua Cpt 5). Was this not a TYPE? Our Yeshua (Joshua) will lead us up through the sky, and it "will be rolled back as a scroll" (Rev. 6:14), just like the Red Sea. And our Yeshua will circumcise us - giving us new "spiritual bodies". And HE will write His law on our hearts - thus circumcising our hearts (Ezekiel 36:26). The Ark was carried before Israel as they crossed the Jordan. Yeshua IS the full embodiment of "the Law". He is the "forerunner" - going before us.- 20 replies

The sin against the Holy Spirit is to resist the Spirit. The rulers in Israel even said that Christ did miracles through the power of Beelzebub (the ruler of demons). Now THAT was "blasphemy" - to call Jesus' work, the work of demons. Just before they stoned him to death, Stephen said, "You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. (Act 7:51 NKJ) THAT is the "unpardonable sin". Why? Because once your heart is "hardened", it is impenetrable - unreachable. It's not about just using bad swear words. It's reaching the point where the Spirit of the LORD cannot get through to you. Anyone who is still asking for prayers, IS STILL REACHABLE. -

Perhaps you need to understand how Satan "the accuser" speaks to our minds, telling us that we are failures who will never be saved. Don't listen to him! He is a liar! Neil T. Anderson has a lot about this on YouTube. Go through his 7 Steps to Freedom. See what difference it makes!
