This is not a church, it is a discussion forum. Some may consider it a "church" for themselves, but it is not scripturally a church, thus, this point would not apply. The wonderful women here are not in any spiritual authority over any of the men. There is nothing wrong with men and women discussing scriptures and having conversations and giving advice. Nobody that I know of said that women aren't allowed to quote scripture or give advice. It has nothing to do with trying to keep women down or dominate over them. It's supposed to be about what scripture has to say about the subject. Our feelings are not the issue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keith, Actually, I think hisgrace brought up a valid point. Bear with me here just a second, ok? Actually, hisgrace, I was thinking this one myself and my husband concurred with me. Keith, what is the church? Is it a building? NO! Is it a local congregation? Sure! Is it the body of Christ? Absolutely!! Are we Christians on here the body of Christ? You bet!! So, when we meet together on here and Christ says that where two or more are gathered together in his name he is in the midst of them, then would not that comprise the church? YES!! If I am free to prophesy on here and to teach and to share the truths God is teaching me and you, as a man, feel free to share in that discussion, but then you, as a man, would not allow a woman the freedom to do the same in your own "church," is not that a contradiction? Why would it be ok here and not in your local congregation? Is it because there is no structure here? But, we do have some structure here, do we not? Are there not people who monitor our conversations? So, in essence, they are in some sort of position of spiritual authority over us (loosely, I know). But, even that aside, the bottom line is that I, a woman, am prophesying and teaching and counseling and exhorting and encouraging other believers here in the faith and many of them are men. So, if you truly believe it is wrong for a woman to do that, then why do you participate in these discussions? Why don't the men on here ban discussions with women? I really see this as a double standard. And, if I, a mere woman, have the freedom to let the Holy Spirit speak through me here but if I were in a church where I did not have that freedom, then is it any wonder some people would consider this their church? Why do many people leave churches? A lot of them leave because they get more love in the world than they do in the church. My husband and I were just reading a book about this subject tonight. It is by Chuck Swindol (my favorite author) and it is called "Dropping Your Guard." You should read it some time. He compares our churches to untouchable glass Cathedrals when they need to be more like local bars (figuratively speaking), meaning they need to be more like a hospital for the hurting. Do you know the place people get hurt the most? In churches!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen!

This is a christian forum and i see alot of women posting threads on here quoting scripture and giving advice not only to the men but to the women also a bit confusing. I have heard some say this is their church so what do we call the ladies on here quoting scripture you know men are going to read. How many read this one?

this is just my two cents, I live in what they call the bible belt with alot of (traditions for women) in the church. Here are some: 1. Don't wear make-up its a sin 2.Don't cut your hair thats your glory if you cut it, its a sin 3. Don't wear pants that pertains to mens cltohting thats a sin 4.Don't wear jewlery that vanity thats a sin 5. keep silent in church other than to prophecy or to sing and testify 6.ect. ect. ect. ect. Some knew ones i haven't heard yet. My point is i know some of this women and they are so unhappy no joy, and they are forbidden to teach anything. I went to their church there was so many rules i would go home and try to find them in the bible it wasn't there so i ask them where in the bible does it state this they couldn't give me one that justfied their rules. The lord says The Joy Of the lord is my strenght, theres no joy in this in my opinion some may say well that is extreme in my opinoin its all on the same lines. So yes i think women shoold preach,teach,prophecy and what ever else the lord calls on her to do. HE the lord is just looking for an obedient servant to do his will. I know my husband is head of the house he treats me with respect and loves me and knows there are neither male nor female in spirit he is not threatened by a spirit filled women in christ. women was taken out of man side not under his foot. This just my opinion.

KatyAnn when this war is finally over we are going to hear more and more stories like what your cousin and nephew, have seen. I will be praying for them.

I know marijuana in some states can be prescribed to cancer patients and other terminaly ill people. I'm just wondering what would be the difference in marijuana and some of the other meds they give these patients. I know personaly i had cancer with chemotheraphy the meds are powerful for the pain is unreal. If it helped where would be the sin? just wondering.

thanks Botz, the reason i was asking a family member lost their mother a few years ago and in their greif they would talk to their mother they thought. I told them she was with the lord, she was a christian, so i began to study the word about these thing to try to council them. I just could never seem to grasp what a familiar spirit was, i wondered if it was a spirit that could take the form and likeness of a family member. hisgrace

The lord healed me of cancer eight years ago i have often said i didnt call or go see BH for a healing i called on JESUS for my healing and he did, so when i testify of the lord healing me i dont have to say i went to BH meeting for it. By Jesus stripes we are healed, If we believe we will receive gods will in our life and if i get a cold i pray for the lord to heal that also. We need to put our faith in christ in all things for man will fail. Whether BH is or is not the lord will judge.
