  1. It doesn't matter what language it is in. It describes the world on the first day. You have declared that to be some separate creation or whatever that got destroyed and then God comes back and restores it. Apparently you got offended when asked who lived there, so I guess it was abandoned in your story. Complete fable He created the earth, then separated the water and land and made light. You seek to take the attempted descriptions of that day and apply it to an invented alternate realty/creation so that old ages fits in there. That seems to be all you care about, compromising the word for science.
  2. No I showed that the world was not perfect before the land appeared and there was light etc. Nothing to do with Hebrew You said the earth was destroyed or some such and then restored. So are you saying that God created a world and none and nothing was on it but it gets destroyed? Be clear rather than blaming others for assuming the obvious The rest of the bible shows there was no mystery gap. You claimed The world was much older than Adam, correct? That means you are trying to find old ages in the bible to align with science. Be honest
  3. The facts are what God said, not some inserted long ages and mystery civilization and destruction of the world in creation week.
  4. You don't get to hide behind Hebrew. The words all fit how the earth was while still dark and without it's present land and etc. The whole six days are creation. You ignore 5 of them, and try to misapply that verse to day one only.
  5. False. I do not ignore the fact that the world was not inhabited or inhabitable on the first day of creation. Many words might describe that. You idea that some sort of mystery civilization used to exist and was then destroyed (or whatever vague fairy tale is in your head) is wholly made up and opposes the rest of the bible. You do care if you believe the old ages from so called science. When you declare the world to be more than 5 days older than Adam, you have opposed Scripture. Another thing suspicious about your mystery religion is how you try to appear as not caring what science says. It is also a red flag when people invent a mystery planet full of mystery beings that mysteriously get destroyed for some mysterious reason smack in the middle of creation week!
  6. No, your story lies in making stuff up about day one, and calling that some restoring of something you have no clue about. Something also that makes the creation of God in six days a lie in your mind.
  7. Not even remotely close to the truth. Creation is not a restoration project from some made up mystery destruction of what He created.
  8. Your checking cannot be checked. The checking only applies as long as the current laws exist. You cannot use the present physics as the reason everything came to exist (such as isotope ratios) and claim that checks the far past when we do not know what laws existed That is not an issue. That is grasping at straws and trying to reinvent the bible to fit your religion and belief system.
  9. False. God gave us the six days of creation, you harp on one where no details are given and try to hammer that to fit your science beliefs. Before it was formed into land and water with light and all that He created after, it would look desolate. Big deal It actually became inhabitable after He continued to speak things into being that way. Of course if it was already perfect and inhabitable on day one the other 5 days were not needed. But they were. We have the record and we know that record is true. We are to correct science with the bible, not correct the bible with science.
  10. I pointed out that it is faith alone, using instruments and whatever that is involved. I can use the same instrument and reach another faith based conclusion. The only question is which faith is used to interpret.
  11. Only after the 6 days was it finished according to God.
  12. It works for as long as the eruption. If that was after Noah's day, so what?
  13. It is not verified for Noah's day, and the fact it exists today is not relevant to the past.
  14. I accept it whether or not science agrees. All we need to know is about when Adam lived. That is possible. For example Methuselah was his descendant and lived right up to the flood. After the planet was made it was or became a certain way, and kept being changed till it was perfectly inhabitable and filled with life. The only time it was void and dark and with no land yet was on day one. That is called the creation of the earth and heaven. Not the re-creation. You insert that to prop up your own beliefs. We do know what was not yet created or spoken into existence on day one. All the things created in the next five days! There was no destruction you made that up. You seek to label the void and dark state of the world on day one as some mystery destruction of some pre existing planet! One where you allow that angels may have lived apparently. The plot thickens. Knowing what was NOT included on day one is all that matters.
  15. You have believed things science said that are based on faith. You have elevated that above Scripture. Just be honest, we are welcome to believe what we like.
  16. Yes the world, for example started to exist before God planted a garden here for us. Let's look at those 2 verses, and see if your claim about "everything" is true. Psalms 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. OK, it is not in this verse. This is about the heavens. Now that fits, because He created heaven and earth on day one. It also fits for day four when the sun and moon and stars were made. But this was different days and it is not 'everything'. In verse eight it is not an all in one moment for everything verse either. Psalms 33:9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. In each of the six days for all that was created on those days the bible says "And God said" So yes, He spake and it happened. But not all in one second! It was six full days and evenings. You have taken verse way out of context to support your old ages Irrelevant even if it were true. The world was not all that visible on day one anyhow since there was no light yet! Day one is a great day to apply some of those words. Including without form and void. But since no one was there to see it, why play the role of expert on the matter? And it TOOK six days! The 'entire universe' was not here on day one either! No stars. No sun etc No the context was IN the six days and THEN it was finished.
  17. Now you claim not to believe the models and ages?? You already admitted you did and said something like the world is obviously older than Adam. You have to wear it now The moon and stars are nice for us as well. However the sun and stars were not here the day He created the world and the heaven. How would a lifeless dark planet look to you if you could even see it, when there was no land? Is that your idea of 'sightly'? Correct there was no inhabitants of any kind before the day it was created. But since you claim it was only restored, you should be clear about what you think was here before it was made! If I knocked a house down after the place was evacuated and empty, I would then restore it. So if you imagine a world that needed restoring you should explain. The imaginary plot thickens. So who laid the Almighty's creation 'waste'?? Guess God had to step aside for awhile while the big boys played on His world? Original sun? The sun was made on day on day four. You think it was laid waste too? Ha
  18. After it started to exist, He did many things in those six days. Now if the dark, landless, sunless, moonless, lifeless world that first day should not be called formless, we might consider a better word. However, it was here, and newly created and God had lots to do still. No, when we form our neighborhood we might plant a garden, build a library, etc. That does not mean some ancient town used to exist there but vanished like Brigadoon. Nowhere does it say the earth was perfect before the water was even separated from land. Let's be honest. God created the earth not yet finished and to anyone who lives now, that would have looked pretty desolate and spooky. Since land was not yet formed, I see nothing wrong with using the word formless. However if you prefer another translation, who cares? So if we say God di not make a world of chaos and desolation, but a good and perfect world, then we are talking about after it was finished. No contradiction whatsoever.
  19. Of course I'll be honest. I have nothing to hide. I don't really care what the origin model of ages is. Doesn't even matter what science claims. What matters is what the Word of God says. That alone. And you dishonor the Word of God by your rejection of the truth Red was your question 18 hours ago. Blue was my answer. So I notice that you don't read my posts carefully. You were not asked if you thought the ages and models of science 'mattered' You were asked if you accept them or not. There we have it, your statement of faith! At last. The bible says Adam was made days after the sun. So it is obvious why you seek to reinvent Genesis. Just as I suspected. It actually is the first day of creation and it says so. That morning and evening was day 1. You seek to insert some mystery former world in there and claim God was not creating all six days. Only the first day. That is lobotomizing the bible! In Clark's commentary it says this "The original term תהו tohu and בהו bohu, which we translate without form and void, are of uncertain etymology; but in this place, and wherever else they are used, they convey the idea of confusion and disorder Sutcliffe commentary says this "Genesis 1:2. And the earth was without form and void. תהו ובהו Tohoo ve- bohoo; when the mountains first appeared they were bare, and unadorned with vegetation. Jeremiah 4:23. On these words the rabbi Kimchi says, Tohoo designates the unformed mass, and Bohoo the form itself. The LXX read the conjunction disjunctively, ‘ Η δε γη ην αορατος , but the earth was invisible, being enveloped in the darkness which covered the face of the deep. The earth was created in a liquid state, a chaotic mass, having the pure essence of every mineral in itself." Wesley says this "Where we have an account of the first matter, and the first Mover — 1. A chaos was the first matter. ’Tis here called the earth, (tho’ the earth, properly taken, was not made ’till the third day, Genesis 1:10) because it did most resemble that which was afterwards called earth, a heavy unwieldy mass. ’Tis also called the deep, both for its vastness, and because the waters which were afterwards separated from the earth were now mixed with it. This mighty bulk of matter was it, out of which all bodies were afterwards produced. The Creator could have made his work perfect at first, but by this gradual proceeding he would shew what is ordinarily the method of his providence, and grace. This chaos, was without form and void. Tohu and Bohu, confusion and emptiness, so those words are rendered, Isaiah 34:11. ’Twas shapeless, ’twas useless, ’twas without inhabitants, without ornaments; the shadow or rough draught of things to come In other words, before the world was finished on day six, looking at day one, it was far different. This is news? False. The sun was not spoken into existing on day one. Nor man, nor the stars etc.
  20. So the earth was formed by God as He said in the verses I provided. First He created the heaven and earth. Creating is not forming. First we need clay and then we form it. So of course God formed and created the world. Fist He created it, then He hovered over it, finishing it and separating the land from water, making life, stars, etc. It was not a flashbang event. It took 6 days to finish God tells us. What you saw as a contradiction was actually nothing of the kind
  21. I notice you did not answer the question. Do you believe in the ages and models such as big bang and evolution of man or not? Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Yes and WHEN He created it is creation week. That creation involved all the six days and all that was created like man. The stars were created days after the initial creation of heaven and earth for example. It was only finished after 6 days and then He rested. You try to declare one day of the six as some sort of grand cutoff that doesn't count in all that was done before creation was finished. Since we know when Abraham lived more or less, and He was a contemporary with Noah probably, the time when Adam lived is not really mysterious. The bible calls that old. You say that unless the bible calls that young it must be billions of years ago? Lots happened that the bible does not provide details about. That is no excuse to reject what it does provide details about! You seem to want to label one day of the six days of creation the 'original creation'. The earth and heaven needed plenty of finishing on day one, of course! The sun was not even created yet, or man, or the dry land separated from the water etc. A more bible believing us of the term original creation would be the way the world and heavens were after the six days. Before the fall of man. Yes, they all attempt to describe the world before God separated the water from the land. Naturally words like unfinished were fine. The world had no life, no plants, no sun, no moon, no light, and no people! How would you describe it, a lovely finished garden paradise and 'original creation'!? It was good when it was finished. That took 6 days. So let's be honest here your quest is to somehow read billions of years into this. Better to believe. The sun moon and stars came days after the heaven and earth were created. You do not know that at all. We do KNOW that the earth was made first, and later even the garden on earth for man! You again have it backwards. Including planting a garden? Yes He says He did that. Making the sun for us, and stars, and plants, and fish and birds etc all came before man. Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. In this context, if we replace the word was with became, as you want to do we get this. And the earth [became] without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. So this is after it was created and before land and water etc was separated. Before life or stars were made in the heavens. Before there was a sun and moon. God is right there over the planet. Nothing was becoming anything without His hand! So a better translation is 'was' rather than 'became'. But even if we use became it is in the context of God doing it, and it happening on that first day of creation. In no way does this mean millions of years were involved. The bible clearly tells another story. One where God took days to finish the creation of the heavens and earth and mankind etc. Having the world dark and with no land before He separated the water and land so that dry land appeared was not what most of us would call a perfect world!
  22. Doesn't matter how He did it. HE said He created man. I gave the verses. No. Improving a created world by separating the waters from the land etc as the bible says. It was not beautiful and finished before. Only after. You have it backwards. Then tell us if you believe the origin models of science and ages? Be honest. If so that is your religion and beliefs. Choose one or the other, you don't get to mutilate Genesis to force it to seem like it conforms. No you have said that the earth was not created in creation week basically by claiming it was only some restoration project from some vague previous existence. Total baloney. It was not an 'original creation'. It was how things were when He created the heaven and earth. It was not finished till it was finished. He knew what He was doing. Inserting billions of invented years in there is contorting and disbelieving Scripture. That was creation, not 'original creation'. Just like the heavens were created but had no stars or sun or moon yet! It did not 'became' any such foolish thing. He created it a certain way and then continued creating and finishing. It was not MEANT to be 'inhabitable in the first stage. Otherwise why would He only create life later? You are trying to make God seem like a bungling incompetent imbecile. All to stuff your imaginary years in there at any cost. Psalms 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalms 95:5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord ; and there is none else. You are wrong. He did not re form the world from some billions of years old mess as you insinuate at all that used to be inhabited. He formed it TO be inhabited! /for the win
  23. False. Man was created. Jesus said so. Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” For lurkers, if there is any doubt let's hear God Himself weigh in on the subject “It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands And I ordained all their host. Source: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Man,-Creation-Of Every day of the six days God created things. Then it was all done and He had finished. You have been trying to contort and twist and grasp at straws to try and make it sound like we need to insert billions of years in His word and the reason is you want to conform Him and Scripture to your religion. He clearly told us what happened and how long it took. Period.
  24. Who is doing all this? You mean the old testament Jews in Israel today? Jesus was the reason for it all in those old sacrifices and ceremonies. Being circumcised now is being circumcised in heart and believing in Jesus. Ignoring the reason of it all, and the Messiah is not obeying of fulfilling anything. It is an empty and vain show. It will be blasphemy when they sacrifice lambs again, as if the Lamb had not already come. That covenant was not broken when He sent them to Babylon or other times when they were punished. Nor is it broken now. Nor is it fulfilled because they brought themselves back to the land and basically stole it. He WILL give them the land again AFTER they believe in Jesus. Until then they cannot have any inheritance. No, it stole land in the area that God will later give to them after they believe in Jesus. You cannot erase Jesus from the picture. Not sure what you mean. It sounds like you are saying saved Israel will never go to heaven?
  25. Whom a father loves he chastens. When they rejected Him they lost their place. But because of His promises He will give them another chance in the end. Right now they are not His people, except in name. Only after they accept Jesus will He be their God and they will be His people. The Pharisees were children of Abraham by birth, but were children of Satan in fact. The Jews were promised the land but in the days of Daniel God sent them away in punishment. So they do not have the land regardless of anything, but on the conditions God set. The nation ended long ago. It started again, but I see no evidence that God restored them and protects them. Only after they accept Jesus will He be their God and restore them. The prophesies say Israel will be there in the end, but NOT that it will be in obedience or because He restored them. Only after they are saved will He destroy their enemies and give them the land. They are there for judgment now. The time of Jacob's trouble. That will be to bring them to Him. That means they are not with Him now as a nation. Otherwise there would be no enemies to attack and kill most of them etc. The family on earth in the end of descendants of Jacob will be Israel. Israel is also the name of the unbelieving nation there today who will not receive the promises at all. Only after the remnant are saved will THEY receive the land and protection etc. Accepting and believing Jesus is all that matters. For Jews and all other peoples. There will be millions of believers raptured before Israel is saved. There will be millions more saved in that tribulation time here on earth as well. There also will be a remnant of Israel in the end saved. That does not mean they are the only ones rescued. Yes and since MOST of Israel will have been killed BEFORE the ones alive (remnant) get saved, THAT is when the national salvation takes place. Except the believers are raptured before Israel is saved. We are in heaven. The saved Jewish remnant in the end will be on earth. The divide will be like this. The saved of all ages are raptured. We will be in heaven. On earth there will be millions of both Jews and Gentiles saved in the tribulation. The Jews as a nation (what is left of them) will all be saved in the very end. Then they will stay here on earth and God will give them that land. Jesus and us believers will rule the earth, and also Israel will help us. Neither we not Jesus will be bound to the planet while ruling, but OUR home is New Jerusalem, still not on the earth at this time. Yes it will, but it starts off with the 1000 year reign on earth of Jesus and His saints.
