I know that I am guilty of previously being a hypocrite in my own life. But I can testify that the Lord has cleansed and redeemed me from that. Therefore, I believe that the Lord has removed the beam from my eye so that I can see clearly to take the speck out of my brother's eye. And of course, the epitaph, "Judge not that ye be not judged" applies to all.

Just saying that not everyone who judges another to be a hypocrite is a hypocrite themselves.

Of course we know that Jesus was no hypocrite when he identified the Pharisees as such.

Then forget that I have called what we do in private "the secret place"... And accept the teaching that if what we do in private is different from what we do in front of other people, that this is hypocrisy. As in "God shall judge the secrets of men according to my gospel" It is mincing words. The question at hand is, what is hypocrisy? It is sinning secretly when trying to put off an air of holiness in public. See also Matthew 6:1-6.

"as without law" but "under the law to Christ". Paul subjected Himself to Christ and considered that to live by the moral virtues that are produced by the Holy Spirit is the fulfilling of the law (Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 8:4). He no longer obeyed and taught the law of Moses as a set of do's and don'ts; instead he preached a set of moral virtues (again, Galatians 5:22-23) that exemplified the spirit of the law of Moses; because there is no law (not even the law of Moses) that will condemn a man if he bears and lives according to these virtues (the fruit of the Spirit). Here is an interesting statement by Paul in Romans, Rom 15:16, That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. Rom 15:17, I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. Rom 15:18, For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Rom 15:19, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. The Gentiles were to be made acceptable through the sanctification of the Holy Ghost; and Paul's aim was to make them obedient by word and deed. I think we can safely say that Paul put just enough moral virtue into his teaching that once the good leaven begins to permeate through and through, the Gentile Christian will be an obedient child of God and a law-abiding citizen of the kingdom of heaven. As I have preached in one thread, that we are to add to our faith moral excellence according to 1 Peter 1:5 and that, for the Gentile, this does not mean that he is now called upon to be obedient to the law as a set of do's and don'ts; crossing his t's and dotting his i's... (while it is certainly moral virtue that the law sets forth in its set of do's and don'ts) ...but the moral excellence is added to faith in that we begin to live by the fruit of the Spirit against which there is no law (again, Galatians 5:22-23).

I will keep my mouth shut on that one.

If I may broach a different subject. Before Cain was born, Adam said that Eve was "the mother of all living". Does this allow for the existence of elves?

Problem solved. "Lilith" was not Adam's wife as that is an unbiblical myth.

Might be the transliteration of a word that means something else.

@Mr. M, what I am saying has to do with this verse that you quoted in the OP: Rom 2:16, In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

If we try to put off an air of being holy when we are around other people but are not holy in private, that is hypocrisy. "When no one else is looking" is what really matters. For example, read the first six verses of Matthew 6.

He has also given us this (the law) as a standard of judgment. Rom 3:19, Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Rom 3:20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. God is Omnipresent (and Omniscient) whether we spend every moment with awareness of that or not. The scriptures tell us this: Psa 10:4, The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

If it is the Lord's standard then everyone will be judged by it. I don't see what your argument is with me, apart from the technicality of how the scriptures seem to define the secret place. I am saying that according to the way I define it (as does the English language if you don't try to spin it with the Bible), we are held accountable for what we do in the secret place. And if what we do in private is different from what we do in public (definitions of that is meant by "the secret place" aside), I do believe that that is the very definition of hypocrisy (according to the English language). Don't think that you are going to escape judgment by this standard simply because it is not your own standard...

According to Romans 11:26, The physical descendants of Jacob (not as narrow as Judah; and not as wide as Isaac and Abraham) According to Romans 10:9-10, those who are children of Abraham by faith.

So, you think we remain in our bodies (as in soul sleep)? That does not sound very promising...with the prospect of bugs eating your skin while you are in that state...

Specific verses aside, I think that it is a common sense proposition to believe that the Lord is in heaven.

The secret place is any place that is secret; when you are by yourself alone. That should always be a time of prayer rather than divulging in the pleasures of the flesh. God is Omnipresent.
