  1. You must pray and call on the name of the Lord when you hear the voice, try putting hymns and reading the Word when this happens, like Fjk said, it could also be a medical problem. Search yourself, are you doing anything that might be inviting these unwanted voices into your head? If not, then continue praying and calling on God to help you. These things do not always stem from sin that you have done Search around you, is there anything in your house that could be possessed? if there is, take it and burn it. If you cannot find anything, find fellow believers and pray with them constantly! Prayer and reading the Bible should keep them away. Submit completely and totally to Christ and He will help you friend ! i will pray for you
  2. I believe it means that we must strive for maximum trust in God and humility little children don't have any pride, they don't even see themselves as better than another child. and children trust their parents completely. if your mom told you as a little kid the ocean was made out of blueberries, you would believe her. God wants us to trust him JUST LIKE THAT. completely, never doubting for one moment what he says. Now, this also means we must be very humble. In those times children didn't have any say in matters, their opinion did not count. many servants were children, they are the very picture of humility. Like i said before, children don't see themselves as better than anyone else, they look up to people, they don't judge. How can we apply this verse? Firstly, we must stay as far as possible from pride. When pride sneaks up 'oh wow, i converted that person' immediately we must check ourselves 'Lord, forgive me. i did nothing, you touched their hearts. i take no credit for their conversion' Secondly, we must serve in every way we can. we must become the servant, helping anyone in need, looking for ways to please God. (mark 10:42-45) ''And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (mark 9:35) ''And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” (Matthew 20:26) ''It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant'' (1 peter 5:5) ''Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.''
  3. Friend! first of all, i am so sorry you are dealing with that, no one should have to ever deal with what you're going through. i cannot believe your church or pastor did nothing to help. I know this is difficult, but DONT GIVE UP! YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS! The first thing you must remember: trust God. Really, when times are difficult, PRAY! talk to him, tell him about those things you are going through, pray with all your might and ask him to help you Secondly, place boundaries. little ones at first. this person should not be abusing you in any way. You need to get out of there, but while you're still there, try everything in your power to stop that person. If they get physical call the police, if this verbal abuse continues, try calling different abuse hotlines (like https://www.thehotline.org). YOU CANNOT LET THIS GO ON! Thirdly, do not worry about the 'spiritually dark house' If you are a Christian, and you have trusted Christ as your savior, no spirit or anything demonic can touch you. If you feel the need to go to that house, then go! there's no reason why you must stay in this abuse. Fourthly, i know you are in a difficult time, but again, do not harm yourself or emotionally abuse yourself. Please do not think this is your fault, its not. Please please please do not think of ending it all, THERE IS HOPE! and God is by your side comrade! trust him he will help you. Fifthly, I AM PRAYING FOR YOU! YOU ARE NOT ALONE! do not give up and trust God in everything you do, pray constantly, there is always light at the end of the tunnel
  4. This has been bothering me for a while now, most records seem to state that the early church was catholic. Where can i find knowledge of the actual history of our church?
  5. For anyone who does not want to look it up, it is here: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other. i am struggling with understanding if Jesus is talking about unbelievers or believers (when he speaks about the branches being burned). Any help would be greatly appreciated
  6. apologies for not being clear, but yes I was wondering if as a sign of the new covenant, or 'sacrament' circumcision was to be replaced with baptism
  7. I am wondering if baptism for children is what God wants, many say it is the new covenant and, like circumcision should be done to dedicate a child to God thank you to whoever can help
  8. that would be amazing but no, sadly, catholics believe she was saved from it in some bizarre way before she was born, so that her sin would not pass on to her son. it is a strange theory (take notice of the 'by a singular grave and privilege of Almighty God in the merits of Christ Jesus the Savior of Mankind' )
  9. thank you for replying, i appreciate it. and yes this is what i thought as well, but how would you interpret this verse then? James 4:17 'Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin' it is a little confusing to me yes you are correct, and very true, it is dangerous when one starts to question the core truths
  10. i have one pair and i use it until it dies
  11. My catholic friend insists Mary was 'sinless' in the sense that she never sinned intentionally but was simply saved from 'original' sin. when i told him romans 3:23 states that all have sinned, he replied with this text taken from an article he read Original sin is not something we do; it is something we’ve inherited. Romans 3 deals with personal sin because it speaks of sins committed by the sinner. With this in mind, consider this: has a baby in the womb or a child of two ever committed a personal sin? No, he hasn’t (see Rom. 9:11)! Or how about the mentally challenged who do not have the use of their intellects and wills? These cannot sin because in order to sin, a person has to know that the act he is about to perform is sinful while freely engaging his will in carrying it out. Without the proper faculties to enable them to sin, children before the age of accountability and anyone who does not have the use of his intellect and will cannot sin. Right there you have millions of exceptions to Romans 3:23 apparently, this means mary was an exception. I would really appreciate any help anyone can provide, that is, how i can convince him he is wrong. My friend and I were both young Baptists until he became a catholic a few months ago, i am trying to lead him back to the faith, but it is extremely difficult. thank you to anyone that replies this is my first post so apologies if its in the wrong category
