Would someone still be saved if they didnt believe this..?

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. The rest comes as we grow in grace. -

What a lovely post and thoughts. They are well worth remembering, and just to add a little nugget of information it was the ministers who built the minsters, hence us the name, so not only did they build the minster to the glory of God, they built up the people's faith as well.

From childhood onwards, I have often wondered how our heavenly Father can know our every deed until I was talking to someone while walking my dog, and this thought came into my mind. "The invisible, omnipresent internet knows all about us, but God GOT THERE FIRST. Praise His Holy Name.

There is no "trinity" in John 1:1-14.
Truswell replied to The 1189 chapters's topic in General Discussion
He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:15-16) For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form. Colossians 2:9 (Colossians 1:15-16) Jesus *said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. (John 14:9) -
I think maybe you mean the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12? Praise the Lord. I sought after the gifts of wisdom and teaching, but not in public, only in private. I pray continually for the Lord to use me in whatever way is appropriate at the time, and he gives me the words to say, otherwise l remain quiet while keeping my heart and mind focussed on Him.

Jesus was busy doing what he came to do, fulfilling prophesy, while the people, possibly John also were expecting a political leader. There was no other like Jesus. • The blind see (Isa_61:1; Isa_35:5). • The lame walk (Isa_35:6). • The deaf hear (Isa_35:5). • The dead live (Isa_26:19). • The poor hear the good news (Isa_61:11).

That phrase was often on my lips when my daughter had to do her homework, and she kept putting it off. It had to be done, so I would say, "Just do it" and pulling a face, she would. She got to be a school teacher, so she did OK, and she is a lovely Christian too.

The trinity? Mary was filled with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus was the Father made flesh.

I wonder if the pre-incarnate Jesus had this meeting between himself and John already arranged via the Holy Spirit?

F. B. Meyer writes: The Baptist was languishing in a gloomy dungeon in the castle of Machaerus, on the farther shores of the Dead Sea-like a wild creature of the desert, suddenly entrapped. The darkness of his cell depressed his spirit; it seemed strange, too, if Jesus were the Messiah, that He did not overthrow the tyrant rule of Herod and release His captive friend. When you are in doubt, go straight to Jesus and ask Him to deal with it! Our Lord did not argue with the messengers sent by John, but pointed to the beneficent works that the Father had given Him to do. See Joh_5:36; also Isa_29:18; Isa_35:5-6. The influence of Christ on individuals and the world is the best testimony to the validity of His claims. The demonstration of Christianity is to be found in its acceptance and practice.

My mother, who was a pastor's wife, always had her hair long, but she kept it rolled up, and of course she always wore a hat, based on what Paul wrote to the Corinthian church. Even so, she never understood the reason why. It was not until several years after her passing that I stumbled across the reason in my studies, and so people all over the world have followed Paul's injunction to the Corinthian Church. I take my hat off to the ladies for their faith and desire to bring glory to the Lord. They are lovely.

Paul thought very highly of women, and several accompanied him on his missionary journeys. Phoebe comes to mind, but there were more. In Corinth, Paul was faced with a local problem, so we need to take everything in context. He had lots of difficulties as he planted new Christian churches. An amazing man, who gave his all to the Lord and was mightily used of God, so let us all surrender our life to the Saviour, His will to do despite the many hardships. Each in their own small corner. Let it be, Lord. Amen.

That is very hard to do.

Evolution has nothing to do with it, that is only a yardstick. Creation is down to the ANCIENT OF DAYS, who existed since before the beginning of time. .

You have always supported the young earth hypothesis. (grin) Age of the Earth Sedimentary rocks Sedimentary rocks are formed from the broken remains of other rocks that become joined together. A river carries, or transports, pieces of broken rock as it flows along. When the river reaches a lake or the sea, its load of transported rocks settles to the bottom. We say that the rocks are deposited. The deposited rocks build up in layers, called sediments. This process is called sedimentation. The weight of the sediments on top squashes the sediments at the bottom. This is called compaction. The water is squeezed out from between the pieces of rock, and crystals of different salts form. The crystals stick the pieces of rock together. This process is called cementation. These processes eventually form a type of rock called sedimentary rock. IT MAY TAKE MILLIONS OF YEARS FOR SEDIMENTARY ROCKS TO FORM. Sedimentary rocks contain rounded grains in layers. The oldest layers are at the bottom, and the youngest layers are at the top. Sedimentary rocks may contain fossils of animals and plants trapped in the sediments as the rock was formed, and are even older than the rocks themselves. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zgb9kqt/revision/3 Rocky Mountains The rocks in the Rocky Mountains were formed before the mountains were raised by tectonic forces. The oldest rock is Precambrian metamorphic rock that forms the core of the North American continent. THERE IS ALSO PRECAMBRIAN SEDIMENTARY ARGILLITE, DATING BACK TO 1.7 BILLION YEARS AGO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountains Grand Canyon THE MAJOR GEOLOGIC EXPOSURES IN THE GRAND CANYON RANGE IN AGE FROM THE 2 BILLION YEAR OLD VISHNU SCHIST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE INNER GORGE TO THE 230 MILLION YEAR OLD KAIBAB LIMESTONE ON THE RIM. THERE IS A GAP OF ABOUT ONE BILLION YEARS BETWEEN THE STRATUM THAT IS ABOUT 500 MILLION YEARS OLD AND THE LOWER LEVEL, WHICH IS ABOUT 1.5 BILLION YEARS OLD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon Archaeologists have discovered 78 flint tools at a north Norfolk beach, showing that humans arrived in Britain much earlier than previously though. The tools, found near the village of Happisburgh, were thought to have been laid down between 840, 000 and 950, 000 years ago. The find suggest that humans were living in Britain up to 250, 000 years earlier than the previous thought. "These tools from Happisburgh are absolutely mint-fresh. They are exceptionally sharp, which suggests they have not moved far from where they were dropped," says Professor Chris Stringer, human origins expert at the Natural History Museum. It is believed that these early humans were hunter gatherers, living on the banks of the ancient river Thames, which flowed through Norfolk but has long since dried up. They would have lived alongside sabre-tooth cats, hyenas and southern mammoths, and would have travelled to Britain along the land bridge that once connected Britain to the rest of Europe. Cain and Able were living in an age of farmers and shepherds, long afer cavemen and women. The users of these tools are believed to be related to the species Homo antecessor (also known as “Pioneer Man”), although currently no human remains have been found.

Several things from my notes: Now Absalom was praised as the most handsome man in all of Israel. He was flawless from head to foot. He cut his hair only once a year, and then only because it was so heavy. When he weighed it out, it came to five pounds! (2Sa 14:25-26 NLT) Although the Nazirite vow is an Old Testament concept, there is a New Testament parallel to the Nazirite vow. In Romans 12:1-2 Paul states, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” For Christians, the ancient Nazirite vow symbolizes the need to be separate from this world, a holy people consecrated to God (2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 1:15). A Nazarite is one who lives apart and who has made a vow of abstinence. Those who took the vow had three restrictions placed upon them. According to Numbers 6 he may not take wine or anything made from grapes; he may not cut the hair of his head; he may not touch the dead, not even the body of his father or mother. Samson was a Nazarite from birth, Samual was another Nazarite who we know about from the Bible, and then there was John the Baptist. Absalom had long black hair, Paul may have taken the Nazarite Vow while he was in Jerusalem and perhaps Jesus also took the Nazarite Vow. (Not to be confused with being a Nazarene.) In Israel, the Hebrew men and women wore long hair, yet it was trimmed to show humility. Baldness was wholly despised for the reason given and extremely long hair was a sign people had taken the Nazarite Vow which you can read about in Numbers. Samson was a Nazarite from birth, Samual was another Nazarite who we know about from the Bible, then there was John the Baptist. Absalom had long black hair, Paul may have taken the Nazarite Vow while he was in Jerusalem and perhaps Jesus also took the Nazarite Vow. (Not to be confused with being a Nazarene.) NAZARITE: One who lives apart; one who has made a vow of abstinence. Three restrictions are imposed upon the Nazarite, according to Num. vi.: he may not take wine, or anything made from grapes; he may not cut the hair of his head; he may not touch the dead, not even the body of his father or mother. If a Nazarite has become unclean by accident, he must offer a sacrifice and begin the period of his vow anew. He is "holy unto the Lord" (Num. vi. 8), and the regulations which apply to him actually agree with those for the high priest and for the priests during worship (Lev. x. 8 et seq., xxi.; Ezek. xliv. 21).

Got Questions begin by saying it is their "opinion." In truth, the word day in Hebrew has multiple meanings depending on context. It can mean twenty-four hours, an age, always, forever, everlasting, perpetually, presently, season, (process of) time, as at other times, a whole age, and many other things. Total KJV occurrences: 2295 Taking it in context, we are in the seventh day now. It took an extremely long time for the heavens and earth to take shape.

The word day (yome) in the Hebrew means a period of time. It can be anything from a few hours to eternity. We are in the seventh day now, and look how long it is.

I should have explained that the temple in Corinth with the prostitutes was not Jewish, but pagan. I just wanted to make it clear. Sorry.

I happened to see mention of women's long hair. I hope you don't mind me butting into your conversation, so let me explain. Corinth was known as Sin City, with prostitutes working out of the temple, their bald heads identifying them for what they were. This is why a woman's long hair was a glory to her. A man would be alright going to church with his bald Christian wife. This is why her long hair was a glory to her. But long hair also presented a problem. The rich women showed off their wealth by putting jewellery in their hair, so that all could see how wealthy they were. Lady Godiva did the same, and this is why Paul advised women to cover their head in humility before the Lord, for all are equal in the sight of God. I hope this helps, and apologise for butting in. :)

Yes! God looks on the heart. (Sorry to interpret.)

Perhaps light will dawn, but I will leave it for now. :)

That is a lovely testimony, and anyone who hears the call would need to be strong-willed to resist it, but people do. It must grieve the Lord enormously, and he seeks after them, but a loving God never binds us in chains, unlike Satan.

You have me there, what was the covering?
